Only stayed the one night but it met all our expectations. We were in Room 4 (twin bedded); a large room with the nice touch of a dressing area as you go through into the bathroom (large shower - plentiful hot water). Plenty of room to put the suitcase out of the way and a large full length mirror. A nice touch in the bathroom - a shower mat. So many properties do not provide these but very welcome when they do. Plenty of tea and coffee sachets, milk and a couple of packs of biscuits. A large bottle of water was provided too. Very comfortable mattresses too. As it was a Sunday, breakfast was served between 8.30 to 9.30 am. Pleasant dining room and good service - nothing was to much trouble. The B&B is a short walk (10 minutes) to the sea front and we ate in the recommended "Ship Inn". We did not book but at 6.00 pm, the staff easily fitted us in. Excellent food with a pleasant view overlooking the sea. Lovely walk towards the twin towers of Reculver.
Would return for another stay should we visit this area again.

If you like fish and chips, kebabs and amusement arcades, Herne Bay will probably suit - provided it doesn't rain as there is very little to do.
There is a serious lack of decent restaurants and almost none open before Thursday!
Whitstable and Broadstairs are definitely better to visit.

Attractions in Herne Bay are limited, but worth walking out to the pier to see people catching crabs. Very peaceful walks and lovely sky scapes. Good access to nearby Canterbury, an interesting town and Cathedral to see. Also easy to get to Whitstable which has a great High Street and quirky shops. Whitstable has lots of restaurants and coffee places and is a lovely town to explore and plenty of history with the oyster catching. So using Herne Bay as a base there are lots of interesting places to visit around that part of Kent.

We have family who live in Herne Bay, so I’ve been a few times for various reasons, though this was the 1st I’d stayed anywhere outside of their home. I like it there! There’s always something to do, a good choice of shops-more than you see initially. When we’ve visited in the summer, we’ve enjoyed Air shows, classic car parades, live music and Caribbean food on the pier, the Cartoon festival or even just a BBQ on the beach. The beach is mostly sandy but nearer the beach huts, the sand turns to shingle.

On a walking holiday so only stayed one night but the Aqua Bay Guest House was spot on - would recommend. Ate in a Turkish restaurant - A La Turka - on the seafront in the evening and it was excellent.

Herne Bay is a charming seaside town.
Herne Bay is a charming seaside town.
Good choice of cafes and restaurants.
A very good Sri Lankan restaurant opposite the pier. Lovely food.
Good transport links to other seaside towns, and very close to Canterbury.
So easy to reach from London.
I found it very friendly as a lone traveller.
A had a lovely short break.
Sally and Tony that run the B&B are the best hosts. We haven't stayed in a B&B so I was a little nervous about the experience compared to a hotel but they were fantastic with helping us with whatever we needed, directions, extra teas and sugars to helping us track down a lost JustEat food order. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Lovely breakfast and accommodating to dietary requirements. The accommodation is right on the sea front so a lovely view too. Will definitely come back when in town
Very highly recommend. Beautiful property finished to the highest standard, hidden in Herne bay, a mere 5 mins walk from the beach & town centre. 10 min walk from a train station which serves all the beautiful towns along the coast within a 20 min ride. Completely deserves the 5 star food rating, breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented. Great friendly host goes out of his way to help you. Highly recommended. Thank you Luke, we really loved our stay
The B&B is on a quiet residential road within walking distance of the parade/High St of Herne Bay.
Hot breakfast was prepared to order and it was all really well done; Luke's scrambled eggs were really good.
The room we had also had a lovely sitting room with very comfortable sofa and the decor throughout was very stylish.
Luke and Rachel were charming and helpful hosts.
The property was located on the Central Parade of Herne Bay, parking was no problem as it is out of season. Property is spacious, clean an furnished to a high standard. Views of the bay from the living room are amazing.
Host communicated excellently an was available to answer questions when needed. Lovely touch of leaving goodies in the fridge which were appreciated.

Apartment was very modern and very very clean.Perfect place for a nice weekend break, will definatly try to stay next down down in lovely Herne Bay and whitstable.loved the secure and free car parking , apartment was only a five minute walk to coastal path.
Location right on the sea front at Herne Bay is great. Easy walking to the town and access to the coastal footpaths just across the road.
Herne Bay has some nice traditional pubs and a small selection of restaurants.
The apartment has loads of space for a couple.
The closeness to the centre of Herne Bay and the coast. Easy to park your car at the property. A very nice touch was the welcome pack on arrival which included tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and bread and butter. A comfortable bedroom. Two loos at the cottage.
Location - brilliant central setting in Herne Bay. Also ideal to explore the other neighbouring towns.
The jukebox was a great touch!
We loved it so much we booked our next visit before we left!
The location was great - very central and near the seafront, but also quiet... we took long walks on the beautiful beaches and also took bus trips to nearby Canterbury Whitstable and Broadstairs.
