Keswick is a beautiful town, friendly people and lots of different walks for varying abilities. If planning a trip, take the time to look at the various eateries in the town itself as they get fully booked quite quickly, well worth booking in advance of travelling. We had a delightful meal at the Royal Oak, but there are numerous other places. Special mention to the Dog and Gun, great atmosphere in there, humans sometimes outnumbered by the dogs!

If you're new to the Lake District, Keswick is a wonderful place for a first visit, I've visited since being a child and still find much to enjoy in the area. There is accommodation to suit everyone from a great YHA, hotels, bed and breakfasts self catering, caravaning and camping. All set with in some of the most stunning scenery Cumbria has to offer.
There are lakeside walks suitable for all and mountains and fells aplenty.
You can take a sail around the lake on one of the ferries, hire row and motor boats during the spring and summer
Keswick hosts many fine places to shop, eat and drink.
Great bus services to other lakes and places of interest are available from Keswick these are a fantastic way to take in the beauty of the surrounding area. Especially for those with Kids, an open topped bus is a must. Lots for all ages to enjoy. I will be back soon.

Everything was superb. Jo is a great host and I couldn`t fault anything. Breakfast was really delicious. Jo was very welcoming and gave great customer service as we went on the Derwentwater boat trips and Jo kindly rang ahead to see if they were running. Room was really nice. Location only 10 min walk from the town centre and easily found an on street parking space just outside the guesthouse. Definitely recommend this guesthouse to others and will definitely stay again when next visiting Keswick.
Four night break in Keswick, walking.
Excellent location within a few minutes of the town centre and with plenty of free parking.
We stayed on half board basis, with lots of options for the evening meal on the set menu. Vegetarian options available.
Extremely friendly staff in all areas - Reception, cleaning staff and restaurant staff.
Massive room at the back of the hotel. Very comfortable bed. Good size bathroom with lots of hot water and a bath with shower over.
Our stay at the Perky Pike was perfect! Spotlessly clean, perfect location within 5 minutes of the town centre and everything provided we could ask for in the room.
The breakfast being delivered to the room was a particular highlight, but honestly it is hard to pick just one thing that stood out as the best part of the stay.
Jude was very helpful and welcoming as a host. Will be 100% staying again next time we are in Keswick.
Our second visit to Portland House

Can't wait to return
Wonderful location in the city, walk to the center or take a refreshing walk around town with beautiful scenery. Room was very big with a comfortable bed, bathroom stall is small but for a quick shower works just fine. Owners are very polite and helpful. Didn’t have dinner here but breakfast was very satisfying. The outside photo posted is a few steps outside of the hotel.
The staff couldn’t do more for you, they made the experience 100 times better. One of the staff even dropped us into Keswick town centre after finishing his shift, to save us waiting for the 2 hour bus. I’d 1000 percent recommend staying at this hotel, and we for sure will return one day. Oh, and the food is amazing.
It was clean an well equipped.
Shared electric shower worked very well.
There was a heater in my room.

Perfect!!
Lovely B&B in a great location, just a few minutes walk from the centre of Keswick. We were made to feel welcome straight away and were given lots of good recommendations about the local area. Very accommodating at breakfast and the room was cleaned throughout the day. We would definitely stay at Glendale again.
The location is exceptional, close to Keswick attractions and Derwent Water. Bassenthwaite Lake is just a footpath away. The hotel is extremely dog friendly and four legged guests brighten the place even more. Breakfast options are great for even fussy eaters such as myself.
Lovely breakfast, well located near to the centre of Keswick with a parking spot acceptably close to the bed and breakfast. Very friendly staff and a bonus was the BBQ burger I had on the final night's stay when the proprietor was doing a BBQ for her family.
The house was immaculate, well appointed and in a great location to be quiet, but still only a few minutes walk from Keswick town centre. Parking was free and right outside the house. We would definitely recommend Stanegarth, and indeed stay here again.
Perfect location just a very short walk to the centre of Keswick. The room had everything you need and was very dog friendly. Breakfast was lovely and we were also given a piece of homemade cake which was a really nice touch.
