Lochranza is beautiful and pristine - much like all of Arran however you experience more of a wilderness vibe than you do at the larger settlements such as Brodick or Whiting Bay.
There is plenty to see and do in Lochranza, with wildlife galore! We managed to spot some otters!
The scenery is just breathtaking.

Lochranza sits in a gorgeous glen , with a very good distillery, an excellent eatery - The Stag Pavillion, need to book way ahead. a moody ruin on the coast, great walks spanning out and up into the hills or along the coast.

Beautiful North Arran!
Beautiful North Arran! do yourself a favour and walk here from another part of the island; opt for either coastal or hill walks to get there. You'll be rewarded with beautiful scenery all the way, including waterfalls. Be patient, and you'll also be rewarded with amazing wildlife; seals, deer & stag, a range of birds, and if you're very patient......sea otters!
We chanced upon this hotel because of availability but how fortunate were we! We loved our stay here. Super clean room with such a comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious, lots of variety and set us up for the day. The location was pretty, deer & castle included. We had a rather tasty dinner on one evening and then enjoyed the sunset in the garden. Our hosts Cath & Mac were welcoming, warm and attentive. I am looking forward to another stay at this little gem.
We spent two nights in the hostel in the double room (Queen size bed). The hostel was quite clean and the staff very friendly. There is a large kitchen with a lot of equipment to make your own meals, and the hostel offers the possibility to buy breakfast (granola, milk, yogurt, fruit, bread and jam, with vegan options) and a pre-cooked microwavable dinner (with a few vegetarian options), which was great as there are no shops in Lochranza.
owner was lovely lady and came to meet us after arrival to explain that you have to order food in advance if you want an evening meal, which at the time was disappointing no bar area or drinks area.nice breakfast room and breakfast and service was very good plenty choice of tea and coffee in room, lovely view
The location was stunning. Driving to Lochranza was amazing. The greeting from the hosts was genuinely warm and friendly. Our room was beautifully decorated and had a homely feel. The bed was super comfortable. The breakfast was perfectly cooked and presented.😀
The location is beautiful, the rooms very tastefully decorated and extremely clean.
Dinner menu had been sent to us prior to arrival and was excellent, locally sourced produce and plentiful
The owners were friendly and provided good local information
It was set in the most beautiful location standing alone from the main village in Lochranza. Despite being set apart it was a short walk to get around . The decor was very tasteful and luxurious, perfect to relax after a long cycle ..!!!!
Lovely b&b, well located a short distance from the Lochranza ferry port. Friendly couple , lovely spacious room & fantastic breakfast . Sheep
Roaming around & we could see a stag out of
Our bedroom window!
I was in a private room which was ensuite which I wasn't expecting. Lochranza was a quiet, peaceful spot nestled between some beautiful hills with views towards the western side of the Mull of Kintyre.
Garden at front with tables, plenty parking and close to Lochranza Ferry port. Excellent Sandwich Shop close by for a bacon roll and coffee in the morning.
