An absolutely beautiful, tranquil and romantic hotel with wonderful staff. The staff especially made the hotel what it was - offering anything they could do to help. Marjie, especially, became one of our fave members of staff. Can't wait to stay again! :)

The Old Mill, hotel in Lymington

Set alongside the riverbank near Lymington, in the New Forest, The Old Mill is a stunning conversion of an old water mill.

Our room was in a house adjacent to the Mill House. Very clean, modern decor and comfortable; on the ground floor with private patio area, a shame the weather wasn't better! Enjoyed our meals in the conservatory with views over the pond and gardens. Quirky bar area as well as a snug and other dining areas. The staff service was excellent especially from Pascaline and the two Libby's. Nice touch with the Anniversary plate.

Lymington was a great place to visit, it had a real energy and buzz about it. The shops were good, seemed like quite a few independent shops and the charity shops had some quirky items in them, too. The Saturday market exceeded my expectations and was really interesting. The marinas were popular with visitors and it was nice to sit in the sunshine to watch the ferry to the Isle of Wight docking and leaving. Some really nice café and deli places to visit and a host of interesting pubs to sample local ale and gins.

A nice town with independent cafes and boutiques.

A nice town with independent cafes and boutiques. We enjoyed lovely walks around the harbour and along the flats, we could have walked for hours. Great local ice cream and a gluten free flapjack shop - Flapjackery. So good we went back the next day! The location is close the new forest and an easy drive from home, it’s the first trip for family (the second for me, the previous trip with the girls) and we will certainly return.

Lymington is a charming seaside town with a real boating culture. The shops are charming and there is a good selection of places to eat or drink. It has a quaint atmosphere and prides itself on its seawater bathing pool. We only stayed one night but are definitely planning to return.

Overall this hotel was a mixed bag, but I did like it very much and would comeback again, price dependant. -For me the bed is the most important thing in a hotel room and they knocked it out of the park. I’ve slept in a lot of hotel rooms this year and this was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on by far! -The room is looks nice and is kitted our with everything you need. -The staff were lovely -The location was perfect, only minutes from Lymington or the new forest. -Also a peaceful quiet location

The hotel has a lovely warm cosy feeling with a log fire glowing. Plenty of room in the everywhere including restaurant to have dogs socially distanced. We had the family room as we like a big bed and plenty of room. Shower was great and it had a lovely roll top bath which I did test. All the staff were so friendly and Daisy our dog got a lovely saucer of treats when dining for breakfast and evening meal. Lovely 15 minute walk into Lymington.

Clean, spacious and comfortable room. Breakfast and evening meal very good. Glad we booked a table because restaurant and bar was full, even on a Thursday evening. Staff exceptionally polite, helpful and efficient with smiles too! Easy half-mile walk into Lymington high street, and very convenient for Isle of Wight Ferry. Would definitely stay again.

So quirky and different but spotlessly clean. Owner Toby was so relaxed and hospitable. He makes a fabulous breakfast as well! We booked one room and received a private beautiful sitting room as well. Really a very special place and fantastic location. 2 minutes walk to Harbour and Main shopping street.
