We did part of the Northumberland Coastal walk (Cresswell to Dunstanburgh) and found the locals to be very friendly. Lots of free car parks near the coast, very well sign posted and plenty of benches.

Came for the Northumbrian Gathering.
Came for the Northumbrian Gathering. It's a great event if you like folk music and dancing. Lots of local culture. Talented artists. And the town itself is very attractive. It is small enough to park and walk to all places of interest.

Secret Cottage, Morpeth (Host: Alex) Morpeth was fine but accommodation and host not so good. Reported a major fault (no lighting in the main bathroom) this was not repaired during stay and to add insult to injury the host lied about everything in response to my review of Booking.com. Please don't trust this host or give him any of your hard-earned cash as he doesn't deserve the business. He was totally unsympathetic and had a terrible attitude. He said "go ahead and report to Booking.com because at the end of the day it is up to the host if a refund is given". AVOID THIS HOST!

Morpeth is a lovely little town.
Morpeth is a lovely little town. Highlights for me were the bagpipe museum - really is great - the park and all the little shops, especially the cheese shop by the clock tower. I went in windy January on a bicycle, which was not ideal, but I still really enjoyed myself.

We were only there for one night for a family birthday so did not get the opportunity to visit all the shops in the town centre. We did go to a fantastic Italian Restaurant Lollo Rosso which served amazing food and such attentive and friendly staff.
This is a beautiful property in an amazing setting. The furniture and decoration is fabulous. The surrounding countryside is teeming with amazing wildlife and you are in very short driving distance of Berwick, Alnwick, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh, Seahouses and so many more fantastic Northumberland attractions. The beds are comfy, the bathrooms are incredible, there is outdoor furniture, Karen the owner is a delight and extremely helpful. We could not have enjoyed our stay here any more than we did. It was a joy.
Friendly, clean, had everything I needed. Breakfast was excellent, they catered well to me being gluten free (coeliac) as I had told them in advance. There was gluten free bread with a separate GF toaster, 2 types of GF cereal, an allergen list for the English Breakfast, probably one of the best breakfasts I've had at a hotel/B&B. Even the biscuits in my room were gluten free!
The whole ambience of the hotel is exceptional. Clean, spacious and well equipped en-suite rooms and an outstanding restaurant with delightfully friendly staff and awesome food - both in choice & quality. The wholesome Northumbrian breakfast more that sets one up for exercise in the amazing Northumbrian countryside.
Clean and comfortable B&B with very friendly hosts. Breakfast was really first class. Within easy walking distance of Morpeth town center where there is a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Lollo Rosso Italian restaurant highly recommended. I'd stay again without hesitation.
Despite being on a busy road junction the room #6 that I had was very quiet. It was also clean, warm and comfortable and had everything I needed for a 3 day Christmas 🎄 visit to see my family and friends. It has a car park and the hotel is just 2 minutes walk from Morpeth town centre.
Great and comfy "glamping pod" in a secluded location, surrounded only by grass and a few goats. The hosts are very nice and super accommodating. The pod itself includes all the equipment you need to cook a nice dinner, and it's surprisingly spacious as well. Would stay again!
The apartment was clean and well equipped, with walk-in shower, comfy be, lounge area and a well equiped kitchen. Milk, T&C and crisps (!) all supplied. And the garage next door to park the bike was a great bonus! Morpeth is lovely - and the bagpipe museum really is a treat.
The location was excellent for exploring Morpeth, local walks and as a base for exploring Northumberland. Morpeth has some excellent restaurants. Nice garden which gets the sun in the afternoon and easy parking for one vehicle. Roomy property well equipped kitchen.
Absolutely beautiful lodge, we have stayed around this area before as it isn’t far from home but once you’re there it feels like a million miles away. Stunning caravan and will be using Lone Star Lodge again very soon. (Thank you for the free wine and crisps!)
Lovely hotel which has had quite a lot of money spent on it. Quiet location but convenient to tour Northumberland as close to A1. Morpeth is a couple of miles away and has some good shops and restaurants. Morpeth has free parking with disc for 3hrs
Very friendly staff the bedroom was nicely decorated The bar and restaurant areas are nicely done with log burners to keep you warm
The food and beer were both excellent
The flat was beautiful, really comfortable I will definitely stay there again . The Christmas tree was a lovely touch.
It's also really handy for Morpeth shops.
The house was stylishly decorated, well equipped ,comfortable and clean.
Great location to Morpeth and surrounding areas.
