Breakfast was excellent in terms of choice and quality. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Very welcoming. The atmosphere was as you might expect from a very old property. Decor in public rooms was fine and in our bedroom adequate. Our room was adequate in terms of bedroom size, but the shower room/toilet was bijou to say the least! However, one can understand it is difficult to adapt such an old property to meet modern standards.

Reasonably sized room with plenty of storage cupboards, large comfy bed, tea making facilities plus a welcome slice of cake, Very large bathroom with bath and separate shower, plenty of towels, quality shampoo, conditioner and soap etc. plus white dressing gowns and slippers. The breakfast was excellent, service efficient & friendly & really good quality. It was so good, I ate too much! Also our room was lovely & very comfortable.
My husband was not too well & had become very frail recently, but nothing was too much trouble for Sean who met us when we arrived. He changed our room so my husband didn't have a 2nd flight of stairs to climb & helped in every way he could. We were so impressed with his kindness & consideration to our needs. Thank you Sean!
