We stayed in Thornton Le Dale a couple of miles outside. This location is ideal in that it is within easy reach of most local attractions and also the coast. Plenty of pubs, cafes and independent shops.

Nice little market town with plenty of places to eat in the evenings, even in the winter. It is a good centre for visiting other places nearby and it has the main attraction of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Clean tidy and relaxing.
Clean tidy and relaxing. The birds at the pond were lovely to see. Even saw a kingfisher. Hot tub was very nice and they even turned up the temperature to meet our preference. The hot tub was checked and attended to promptly ever day of our stay. I know Pickering very well as my daughters lives there. We used the site as a place to relax and be with my family after loosing my brother few weeks before. My husband had also retired that weekend so we wanted to be close to our family. All our needs were met but could have done with few more cooking dishes and trays as we did not want to go out to eat. Would recommend the site to others.

Beautiful town. The NYR is a real tourist attraction.
Beautiful town. The NYR is a real tourist attraction. The stops are interesting and mostly independent! Parking is plentiful! Pickering is a fabulous base to explore the moors! Just 20 minutes to Whitby, 20 miles to York. Plenty of places to eat, lovely cafes and pubs! Don’t forget to visit the Castle. Scarborough is a 30 minute drive. People in the town are very friendly and the shops are very welcoming of dogs. Pickering is a real gem of a town! Flamingo Land theme park is about 10 mins from Pickering.

The purpose of our visit was to visit the Bangers and Cash Auction House, and to visit there memorable museum in Thornton le Dale. Pickering was a nice place. We went out of season so it was quiet and only went for two days. Ate at a Indian restaurant which was recommended to us.
Absolutely perfect little escape. Small, friendly, delicious breakfast, and a wonderfully comfortable room with a lovely view over the garden. The hosts were fabulous and made us feel welcome and very much at home, they honestly could not do enough for us! Nutty was the perfect pooch and it was an honour to meet her and her family. The house is far enough from Pickering to make you feel as though you were in the middle of nowhere but close enough to walk to in under 20 minutes, perfect for getting to the NYMR and Whitby.
The apartment was exceptional in terms of comfort, cleanliness, facilities and location. Pickering is an extremely sedate and soothing place to be with its abundance of independent and characterful retailers/traders. You're nudging against the Yorkshire Moors and are an enjoyable car journey away from Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. A stop off at Ravenscar is highly recommended if you enjoy rural coastal sights, which has a seal colony located there who are best enjoyed from a respectfully unintrusive distance.
The owners are very friendly, location is central in Yorkshire and the parking space is directly outside the door. Beds are very comfortable and you have everything you need including wifi and a sun trap terrace to the rear. Would stay again and would recommend. Please book food ahead as black swan which was best in our opinion is always fully booked, would not recommend the station hotel. My parents went to the museum up the road and really loved it, dad went twice!
The hotel was extremely comfortable, clean and the staff all friendly and accommodating. The Breakfast was amazing, all locally sourced ingredients for a delicious cooked breakfast! Our evening meal was superb, beautifully presented and extremely tasty. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean.
Location perfect for exploring Pickering, and beyond, thanks to the railway, we didn’t use our car for two days! Bonus 🤩
Outstanding accommodation and perfect location. Sally was the perfect host, always helpful and served a delicious breakfast each morning with nothing too much trouble.
With the separate bedroom with en-suite, sitting room and dining room, all spotless clean and so tastefully decorated, it leaves hotel rooms for dead.
We could not recommend highly enough and would love to return ASAP.

Our second stay and absolutely love it here friendly, warm welcome and thoroughly recommended the room was warm comfortable spotless and well appointed, breakfast was wonderful nothing too much trouble.
A great location 5 minutes stroll into Pickering. We look forward to returning in the new year 😀
Very friendly and warm welcome. Had dinner in the hotel which was served piping hot, my gammon being exactly how I had requested it cooked. Exceptionally clean room and throughout. Good night's comfortable sleep. No noise from nearby road. The manager knows her job and is a good 'people' person.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful despite shortages and the cleanliness of the entire hotel was exceptional as well.
The bar and dining area were comfortable and had a relaxing atmosphere.
We would 100% stay again as we were made very welcome and enjoyed our stay very much.
We stayed in the tack Room for 3 nights, the accommodation was clean comfortable and well equipped with a large bedroom and comfortable bed. The location was ideal for Pickering and exploring the surrounding areas. I would recommend Bramwood Cottages accommodation to anyone visiting Pickering.
Lovely quiet location yet only a thirty minute walk or five minute drive from Pickering. Secure parking right outside the property. The Stables was an ideal base for exploring the area. A light, airy and comfortable property and a very relaxing stay.
Lovely looking property, good parking facilities. Excellent position to explore the town and North Yorkshire Moors Railway. I missed the car park and ended up miles away could do with a large sign in the car park stating the hotel name.
