Lovely town on the North Coast to base yourself for all the excursions around. Fantastic beaches and plenty of good food places. Weather can change at a moments notice with sun, rain and the wrath of the Atlantic all in a day, come prepared. If you golf there are excellent golf courses.

As long as weather is good there is no better place to be than at Portrush. The beaches the food the pubs all great and the people always make you welcome.
General shopping would be limited however, but in reality when you go to portrush your not really wanting to shop.

I scheduled in Portrush because of a visit to Giants Causeway. I was pleasantly surprised with the city. It is a very clean upscale beach town. My only regret is not realizing The Harbour bar was also a restaurant. We did end up eating in a more trendy "European" restaurant and did not discover Harbour Bar until after dinner. As a traveler from the US, I would have preferred the old friendly feeling to The Harbour Bar and wish it popped up in a search for restaurants on Google.

A familu friendly place and very welcoming.
A familu friendly place and very welcoming. Plenty to do, with the beach, currys amusements and shops and cafes. The Jet centre and the giants causeway was a short drive and portstewart close by. Lovely place.

Portrush is a very busy wee town.
Portrush is a very busy wee town. It is especially good for families with plenty for all ages to do. 2 lovely beaches, a fair ground and lots of large gaming places. Our favourite place is the Arcadia café.
Our hotel is situated nearer to Portrush, however, we liked the relative quietness of Portstewart.
So, Portrush is great for families and not quite so good for over 60s.

Nice place to stay because there is railway station.
Nice place to stay because there is railway station. Moreover it is very close to all main attractions in Northern Ireland ( Beach near Downhill, Giants Caseway, Dunluce Castle, Carrick -a- Rede, etc. ) So the location is very convenient for travelling.
We had nice walk along the beach ( very wide an d clean ). And we had delicious dinner near the sea side restaurant.

If I could give this hotel 6 stars I would, we loved staying here. The location is fabulous, it's outside Portrush itself, so it's not ideal if you wish to walk to the town, but its location on the coast is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious and the shower was great. We ate in the restaurant and not only was the food top class but the staff were so helpful and friendly. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The room is super clean, which is the cleanest that I ever had, even 5-star hotel can't meet with their standard, really surprise. Good location, about 10 minutes walk to train or bus station, actually there is no public transport go into the village, but the village is very small, it's fairly good, nothing can complaint. Also, they provide basic breakfast which is as normal as the UK hostel or 3-star hotel.
Our whole experience was wonderful.
Scott helped with our luggage and provided us with much appreciated beer after a long days drive. The location is great - near the train station and easy parking.
Room was very spacious and well appointed - even waters next to the bed. It was quiet and we slept great. Scott cooked a great breakfast and was very helpful to talk to about sights in the area.
Caroline is amazing! She is the best host you can get. If you are looking to stay with a local family and meet people this is the best place for you. Don't expect to find a hotel room and ready - served breakfast, but expect to like your stay so much that you won't want to explore the area but instead stay indoors with Caroline. We are already thinking how to get back soon!
Kieran was a very pleasant host
The property is very close to the centre of portrush. The guesthouse was quiet and clean, which is just what we wanted.
Due to COVID-19, they hadn’t been offering breakfast. However, they were offering breakfast at the nearby Quays Hotel, which was both a surprise and a lovely breakfast.
Nice hotel for the price in this area! A 5 min taxi ride takes you to the main street in Portrush, which the hotel was able to advise us on. Rooms a little dated, but overall clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really good! Highly reccommend if you are looking somewhere to stay in Portrush without the expense!
It was as small hotel. The staff were very helpful and gave good customer service offer was made to help which was 4 flights of stairs given age of building and size a lift wasn't feasible but we managed room was comfortable very comfortable with full mod cons really impressed with breakfast as well
I had a mix up with the hotel I was supposed to spend a couple nights fell through so at the last minute I booked my room here and it couldn’t have lovelier. the host was accommodating and gave me a lovely sea view room, and cooked a delicious breakfast in the morning
We always book the Atlantic when staying in Portrush,it’s not the Ritz but is really comfortable, the staff are so friendly and helpful, breakfast is excellent, I have stayed in other hotels in Portrush but the Atlantic is my favourite
Fantastic couple running this BnB. Very informative on the places to visit within the area. BnB is close to restaurants. Park at the central parking area up the street from the BnB. The railroad station is in walking distance too.
Nestled in the heart of Portrush is this quaint little hotel, all I can say is great breakfast, comfortable rooms with all necessities provided, a knowledgeable host, and wonderful views. A must visit if staying in Portrush!!
location was very convenient to Portrush, Portstewart and other local towns and attractions. everything that we would have needed was there, such as games, books, cooking equipment. the balcony was a great addition to stay.
The hotel is very clean & has very pleasant, attentive staff throughout - reception/bar/restaurant
Food was lovely...had an evening meal & breakfast- pancakes were lovely
Perfect location, really spacious, best equipped property we’ve ever stayed in, warm and comfortable, and included a private parking space which is a godsend in Portrush!
Lovely place to stay right in the heart of Portrush. The staff at Albany Lodge were really friendly. This is our second time and I would highly recommend staying here.
Staff were very accommodating. They were very helpful with information about places to see in Portrush. The decor was lovely, fresh and extremely clean.
