The room was as expected with everything as per the descriptions. The beds were comfortable and all the facilities and provisions were as detailed on the website. The bathroom although small, had everything required and the water pressure in the shower was excellent.
The breakfast was superb - many options and choices available for both hot and cold options and the host was great.

Stroud is quite a big town in Gloucestershire and, as such, it has all of the shops and amenities one would expect. Plus, with a taxi rank, train station and frequent bus services to/from Cheltenham and Gloucester, among other places, the town is well connected. I would recommend it as a base from which to explore Gloucestershire.

Vibrant, friendly and historic town full of stylish places to eat and drink, unique gift shops surrounded by beautiful countryside. Local bus service was also very reliable on the Saturday ( well - better than my own at home anyway!). Public toilets in the town were clean and convenient.
I was on my own but felt safe even at nighttime.
Would recommend the indoor market, Stroud Bookshops, as well as Cornflower and Calico for kitchenware gifts. The Coffee House and Curio Lounge Cafe Bar were great places to visit as well.

Amberley Inn was in a village outside Stroud, the area was very picturesque and plenty to do in the area. The Aboretum at Batsford was exceptional with lovely autumn colour and the Cotswold Villages are a delight.

Went to watch Giffords Circus at Minchinghampton Common, the show was fantastic and the atmosphere great, ate in the local pub, good food but a tad on the expensive side.
Lovely area of the Country to visit
The staff were really friendly and helpful. They met my needs when asked.
The breakfast was amazing, especially the bacon. All produce was local and it tasted delicious. Lots on offer to eat. Nice yoghurts. Great coffee.
Food in the pub area was lovely and delicious. Lovely local wine too.
Great location to Minichinhampton Common and Nailsworth. Only 3 miles away from Stroud. Near Tetbury. Short walk to the best ice cream ever!!
Very quiet area, very relaxing.
Parking available.
Lovely views.
My room was comfortable and well appointed. It was away from the bar area, and was quiet despite the road nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food served was good quality pub style, and the included breakfast was great. The location is close enough to the station to walk, although the hill approaching the hotel is a bit steep. One perk of staying at a pub is the option to sit out on the terrace with a pint, enjoying the view over the valley!
Though next door to a thriving pub, our stay was quiet and restful. It is so handy to have the pub next door with its excellent menu. The village location is pleasant and walks are easily accessible. Easy access to Stroud was a reason to choose this location, and the drive (short route on Sat Nav!) was interesting for its narrow lanes and picturesque villages.
We love this small hotel and the personal service you get as a result. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the rooms are quirky with great views of the surrounding area. The full English breakfast is superb and the overall atmosphere makes for a very comfortable stay.
Abi is a wonderfully charming and solicitous host. Her expert knowledge of Stroud really enriched our stay. The accommodation was comfortable, relaxing and spotless. It was a great privilege to stay in such a warm and welcoming home. Thank you.
I loved the setting on the common and the views. I loved the quirkiness of inside the hotel, with a myriad of different areas to sit. It felt relaxed and eclectic. Bedroom was very comfortable. Staff were all lovely. Breakfast was great.
Excellent food and they were the BEST hotel we have ever stayed in for dealing with my wife's Gluten Allergy (Coeliac). Instead of the usual stress, we always felt very confident that they knew what they were doing!
I don't eat breakfast.
I spent most of my childhood living near The Laurels, yet never really noticed how beautiful the area was. A fantastic local pub (The Old Fleece) didn't detract from my enjoyment of my stay.
Everything we needed was there, it was very comfortable, warm & clean. Great location for centre of Stroud & canal walk. good car park. excellent accessible provisions - so thoughtful. Lovely outside seating area.
A wonderful old cottage full of character, located up a hill between Stroud and Cirencester. The area is full of attractions. We enjoyed our days there, even got to visit the owners sheep;-)
Beautiful quiet setting just outside Painswick. Lovely hosts. Perfect for a couple. We already recommended to a friend looking for additional space for visiting family and friends.
The hotel was in a convenient location for Stroud. The facade looks impressive and the room was quiet. The bedding and towels were clean, as was the bathroom.
