Good communication when I contacted them explaining that I would be arriving late. An excellent breakfast and interesting conversations with other guests. The place had a friendly vibe. The owners provided great recommendations for local walks from their door. No need to drive anywhere to get a proper taste of the Westmorland Fells.

A perfect spot to enjoy the Lakes whilst only minutes from the M6. Quiet location and I had views into the countryside.

I travel up and down the M6 to/from Hereford to Oban fairly regularly. It’s a long an arduous journey particularly in the winter. Westmorland is a godsend of a hotel almost exactly half way and is an oasis of comfort and warmth literally at the side of the motorway. I love the convenience, the comfort, the friendliness and the fact you feel you are on the moors and a million miles from a motorway. You could not wish for a better night stop to recharge your batteries. Be sure to ask about the secret road between north and south services especially for hotel customers- so you can easily access the hotel when travelling south (because hotel is on M6 North)

Tebay services…. what a fabulous cocooning experience!
Tebay services…. what a fabulous cocooning experience! I came off the M6 on a wild wet dark evening and stepped into simple luxury and contemporary cosiness - I left the next morning early, completely restored.
I was journeying from the borders of scotland to the south coast and realised I’d run out of energy for the drive- an unplanned stop- but having experienced sitting by the open fire with my book after a delicious simple supper, slept in a divine comfortable bed, a nice hot bath -a delicious breakfast - i’ll make the time to stop here EVERY time i pass from now - special thanks for the gluten free and vegan options tebay!

There was a well stocked farm shop within walking distance, a great pub which was reasonably priced with a good menu. The food was delicious, it had an outdoor beer garden and lit up seating area, a play park for the kids, it played great music and had a good atmosphere, everyone was so friendly.
Tebay has many local walks, it is in the perfect location, in between the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales.

Central location, ideal for exploring the area.
Central location, ideal for exploring the area. Hotel very good. Service top class. Plenty of breakfast options. Can eat at service station at any time. Good variety to choose from. Recommend the farm shop. Food any local crafts available.
The whole package was exceptional in our experience of many similar hotels. It has the added bonus of being in a most beautiful setting . The room was clean comfortable and the bathroom was superb. It is really difficult to find fault.
The evening meal was first class and tasty While the breakfast was just right for the next stage of our journey. All the members of staff went out of their way to make sure that we had a comfortable and happy stay. We hope to visit again in the not too distant future.
We were only there overnight but had a really warm welcome in the evening (even though it was late!) and at breakfast. The room was really nice and clean with super comfortable beds and en-suite. It was dark and quiet so we slept really well and came down to a delicious breakfast. The house backs on to open moorland which was perfect for a dog walk before we left. It was raining in the morning so there was a log burning stove at the entrance to warm you if you got wet.
I booked the single room as was only there alone for one night stopover and wasn't sure how I'd sleep in a single bed. But it was extremely comfortable and homely, a nice temperature and quiet in the room. I had a great night's sleep which was all I was bothered about really. Owner kindly made my breakfast to go as I left early on. Friendly owners.
B&B is easy to find right in front of you as you come into Tebay.
This is a lovely hotel which has stunning moorland views. It is located just off the M6 but has no traffic noise and plenty of parking. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There were limited options on the evening menu when we stayed (especially for vegetarians) but the food was good.
Everything, it was absolutely lovely, tucked away in the village of tebay, made very very welcome, fabulous owners, made us completely at home, the room was perfect for us and the dogs, clean bed hot shower, beautiful food homecooked. we will definitely go again. a secret jewel tucked away. PERFECT x
The Old School is a great B&B for stop-over on a long drive. Clean room, nothing fancy and great breakfast.
Cross Keys pub is a 5 minute walk so perfect for an evening meal. Fuel station in the village is great too, part of the Tebay Services family - diesel here a lot cheaper than at the motorway stop.
Great location, approx 5-10minutes from Tebay Services and the M6. Remote location with plenty of privacy. Loved the open plan living room and kitchen facilties. The design of the barn, the games room and sauna/steam room all very good features. The design / decor were impressive and well thought out.
Good sized room and en-suite shower room, comfortable bed and good breakfast, owners where friendly and chatty. Biggest asset is that dogs are welcome. The location is perfect for a stop if you're travelling up/down the M6 but also to explore the area, great for walking the dogs in the morning.
Friendly host who was flexible about our arrival time and very helpful in advising us where to find a good-value evening meal in Tebay. He provided an excellent cooked breakfast the following morning. The room was clean and comfortable.
Excellent room with fantastic views across the Cumbrian moors, did not have dinner as there was nothing that took my fancy, breakfast was excellent with more great views across the moors. Staff were very friendly, helpful & courteous.
Excellent location and very good locally sourced food. Scrambled Egg and salmon fur breakfast was superb. All food well presented and visually pleasing.
