I found it strange going to another hotel but breakfast was adequate. If I had booked breakfast when I booked the room I would have been charged £8. I tried to order a breakfast later by email. I was told there was only continental but nothing about booking it. Then, when I got to hotel was told I could have a free breakfast in a different hotel. All very confusing.

The location was perfect, not too close to town but on the sea front. The views were great. We were able to upgrade our room on arrival. Food was great also, plenty of choice from their bar menu. A special thanks to Anthony and his team. They went that extra mile and we could not thank them enough for what they done and how special they made my wife’s birthday.

There is nothing negative that I can say about the Headland Hotel. Superb location. Single room with sea views. A comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean bathroom. The facilities of the room fulfilled all my requirements. Staff were pleasant, friendly and looked after us well. I hope to return again in the future. A perfect stay for me and my family.

Torquay is a delicious, relaxing coastal city where you have the docks or the beach to enjoy sunshine. I was at the end of May and it didn't rain although the sun was missing at moments. Guesthouses are a good option for accomodation. There's places near the Visitor Centre and in front of the docks to buy souvenirs. If you need to use the buses, and ask information to the drivers, be careful since some of them don't seem very eager to help you. The reality is you could walk easily along the beach and wouldn't need the buses.

The harbour area and beachfront are great for relaxing and walking to Babbacombe and Cockington village and also to Paignton. There were also lots of buses as an alternative. Views are fantastic from the front. Torquay town is typical of most towns these days and has a few people sleeping rough. Just a few shops not found elsewhere.

    Torquay is a faded gem.

Torquay is a faded gem. Sadly the area lost the many well-paid jobs in technology which, coupled with the loss of domestic holidays to the mediterranean resorts, cost it dear. The area is now run-down, but there are many attractions still available. It's well worth a visit (I would say that, I lived there for ten years and enjoyed it greatly), as it's a unique corner of the UK!

The hotel is so beautiful and located in a lovely part of torquay with easy access to restaurants and the marina. The spa is immaculate and facilities were top notch. When we arrived we were greeted by a duty manager named Leo and it was honestly the best welcome after a long drive. I arranged a bottle of fizz for our room to celebrate a birthday and Leo had it all arranged nicely in the room just before we arrived. Big kudos to him for his impeccable customer service.

We wanted somewhere to stay for our daughter's wedding based at the Imperial Hotel in Torquay. We came across Palm Grove Apartments and struck gold! We had 3 apartments, one was a 2 bedroom, and all of them were to a very high standard and prefect for our needs. The hosts could not have done more, very friendly and great communication. Having stayed here a number of times before we knew of its excellent value. It is one of the most inexpensive hotels in which to stay, but our price included delicious breakfasts and evening meals all to buffet style (which we prefer) offered by friendly, helpful staff. Unless you are looking for 5 star luxury, then we would thoroughly recommend the Trecarn for the best value in the Torquay area.
