Central location, very good breakfast (I love when hotels offer porridge), sound isolation (even though there is a restaurant at the ground floor, you cannot actually hear any music from your room). The room was quite big and had a bathtub. Air-conditioning worked well.

The room was below standard given the money I paid, no value for money. The breakfast was normal Estonia standard. The property looks great for outside relaxing perhaps drinking outside but as a hotel nope its terrible.

Tartu is the second biggest city in Estonia, it has lots of places to visit, like museums, science centre, shopping centres, theatre, there are lots of walking to do, there are great local transport links in Tartu, there are plenty of hotels,B&Bs, plus apartments to stay in, most of the big shopping centres are in the city centre, there is also a free bus that takes you to one of the biggest shopping centres in Estonia, just on the outside of Tartu, that shopping centre is very big, and takes about two hours to walk round, it has a lot of different store, restaurants, etc there.
The local buses are also great to use,buy a tartu bus card, tap and go, or, buy tickets at Tartu bus Station, there are local buses, and city buses, there are lots of them, make sure to get a map, as it is a little difficult to know where to go/get off, if you do not know the area.
By the river, across the foot bridge from the city centre behind the market, you will find a nice beach area for summer, it is lovely there, and sandy, plus changing areas for everyone.

Fell in love with Tartu!
Fell in love with Tartu! An absolutely amazing city with a wide range of museums and activities, cosy and variable dining places, perfect for strolling and cycling around... So much to discover! I will surely return!
Try out the city museums, observation tower, printing history museums, science center, spa center, public transportation is easy to use and takes you all around town with an ease. Yet, one can also rent city bikes to move around 😀

Tartu is a beautiful student city to stay at.
Tartu is a beautiful student city to stay at. With the river running right through it it has everything you can wish for. It is busy enough to get whatever you want, but also to feel almost alone enjoying the lights around the river lights during the evening.
Also a lot of nature in a short drive away.
1) Stupendous location right at north edge of Old Town. Most places we wanted to see in Tartu were within walking distance.
2) Extremely well-equipped kitchen (although no space for a microwave).
3) Very comfortable bed.
4) Responsive host
5) The host was able to arrange parking for us (10 euros/day) in a small, unpaved lot immediately across the street--a huge advantage. We do not know whether space would always be available during the high season, however (we were there in late September).
Excellent location, as good as it can get. The hotel staff were very good, the breakfast decent: good quality, fresh enough, though there wasn't a large choice - also, labeling foods clearly was a nice touch. The rooms in the suite were mostly well furnished, except for the bedroom. (See the cons below.) The bathroom was great, designed and put together very well. The main room had excellent views, including the balcony.
Incredibly high quality for the price, every appliance and corner of the apartment was in perfect order. Looks exactly like the pictures, has a nice view and is in a very good location (also if you're a tea fan like me, you will love the place). The check in instructions were very detailed and clear, and i like the contactless lock box. Recommend for any solo travelers staying in Tartu!
The staff was professional and polite and as friendly as always. This is one of my favorite hotels in Estonia! The service is always very welcoming and polite, rooms are nice and with beautiful interior. Beds are large and comfortable.
Spa is also one of the best in Estonia - many excellent saunas and cozy relaxing areas. I always recommend this hotel :)
Very nice hotel, with friendly staff and comfy rooms. I like that it is located in the city centre and there is a nice view to the river running through Tartu.
The breakfast is very tasty and lots to choose from. After breakfast we took a nice walk by the river and through the old town of Tartu. Overall a very pleasent experience with hotel Dorpat.
Very clean and comfortable studio with all the needed facilities. A very friendly owner living next door. The studio is in one of those typical Estonian wooden houses so it was a nice opportunity to be in. The location is near to the historical centre as well as a commercial centre with a big grocery shop.
Great service, staff members were really nice to us.
The location is a big plus, as you are surrounded by 3 shopping malls, bus stops, restaurants, and fun things to see in Tartu.
The design of the rooms is really pretty as well. We stayed in a deluxe double with a front facing view.
Such an adorable and authentic spot in the center of Tartu. The rooms are equipped with everything you need. I had a top room and it was very quiet. You can easily get to the hotel by walking from the train or taking bolt. I enjoyed the location a lot, along with the breakfast.
The location is perfect. Vallikraavi street goes along a picturesque path to the old town. Next to Toomemäe hill, you can enjoy scenic routes and enjoy the best of what Tartu has to offer. You can go everywhere on foot. The apartment is modern and suitable for a short stay.
Fabulous rooms, comfortable, clean and with a lovely balcony. All very bright and spacious and a substantial breakfast to get you through the day. Short walk to the town, yet also located on a bus route, and excellently located for the Estonian National Museum.
One of the best Tartu hotels , opinion is based in comprision with my previous staying in different Tartu hotels.
In my opinion, breakfast in SOHO is the best in Tartu. Clean room ,polite staff. Well disained and spacy breakfast room.
Everything was perfect! Deserves the highest rating. Host was friendly and shared great recommendations for exploring the wonderful city of Tartu! The apartment has everything you would want for your vacation. Tastefully decorated.
Good breakfast with lots of Estonian breakfast dishes, loved the herring. The room had a theme and was very comfortable after a day driving. The hotel has a very quirky theme, kept me smiling for the entire stay
An extremely clean, quiet and well-kept hotel right in the centre of Tartu, making it a perfect stop on your way to southern Estonia. A very nice breakfast just adds up to it. Thumbs up!
The hotel and room were excellent, staff was very friendly and the atmosphere in this villa was amazing! I will definitely stay here on my next visit to Tartu.
