Nicosia's old town is fascinating and safe to walk around day and night.
Nicosia also has an excellent cheap bus service.
Locals are friendly and helpful if you need directions. Many Cypriots speak English.
And of course the Greek Cypriot food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Besides, almost always great weather, very nice people, and delicious food, 1 - to 2 days in Nicosia is enough to walk around and check out the sightseeing. I recommend passing through the border to the Turkish side and shopping a bit in the Turkish Bazar (the ladies will like POSH Handbags & Shoes shop) and eating at the local restaurants. Have a Turkish coffee.

Nicosia is a very unique and historic City.
Nicosia is a very unique and historic City. Famously it is still a divided city and it is possible to visit Northern Nicosia which is under Turkish Occupation since the 1970s.
There are many very interesting and fairly unique sites to visit on both sides of the border.
Nicosia is both a very modern city and has also a very old and picturesque sector. The fact that it has a patrolled border, the Green Line, running through it makes it a very memorable experience.
There are many restaurants and tavernas of variable quality in the town. Sadly there are way too many fast food outlets, but there are also some traditional tavernas serving fresh local delicacies.
However my main criticism would be, as a vegan, I found it very difficult to find places that catered for me.

The southern city center is very small--you can easily walk from end to end multiple times in a day of sightseeing--but it is a pleasant mix of developed tourist streets, colorful quaint residential streets, abandoned buildings and weird more or less closed shops with display windows full of junk. The center is worth a day. A second day is best spent on the Turkish side or in nature at the city outskirts.

I loved and always visit Nicosia both myself and my wife visited 2 or 3 times per year I love the weather and the kind people , lots of attraction and lots of restaurants with fine food , fantastic place especially in December time , Nicola is easy to move around
Extremely clean hotel. I felt like I was at home with a fully equipped kitchen and an apartment that was cleaned daily!
The staff was very helpful and very friendly. I would definitely stay again if they fix the Wi-Fi problems. The location is a 23-minute walk to the old town Ledras and there are a couple of kiosks around where you can buy drinks. If you are looking for a supermarket, to buy proper groceries, you will need to get a car/taxi. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here!
Excellent quiet location in the old part of Nicosia. Close to main shopping street and bus station. Cyprus buses are cheap and reliable. Check out Christakis Kebab shop next to the bus station. Excellent value and excellent traditional Cyprus kebabs.
Nicosia's old town is very safe to walk around, even at night. Fascinating buildings, history and the ceasefire line that cuts across the city.
The rooms are bright, clean and very nicely decorated. The hotel is small and cute. The staff is very kind and helpful. There is a cute bar at the top floor, where we had excellent breakfast.
The area is good, not very central and a car is definitely needed, but then that’s the case for every place in Cyprus!
Definitely coming back!
Spacious one room apartment outside of the old town of Nicosia with a nice balcony.
The bed was comfortable and big enough. In case of any questions the host responded always quickly.
If you turned on the booster 15minutes in advance you had hot water with enough pressure (which is not always the case during winter in cyprus).
The location was great for my main purpose with the stay, as it was close to the University of Nicosia. Staff was also mostly available when I had issues. The air conditioning was great. Bed was done and towels changed every day. Got extra towels when I asked. Ants were at one incident taken care of.
Staff was very friendly.
The room was spacious and clean with comfortable beds and exellent WiFi.
We were here to visit my daughter @ the University of Nicosia and the hotel is conveniently located halfway-ish between the Old Town and the Uni.
Free on site parking
The house has an excellent location to the center of Nicosia. I had one of the best stays in Cyprus and the house was clean, spacious and very cozy. We had also an excellent support from the owner, he helped us instantly to whatever we asked him.
Classic HILTON hotel. Friendly staff, quite & clean room, a number of facilities on premises, nice breakfast with a huge variety. Definitely recommended (a little bit expensive for Cyprus but it is a Hilton).
lovely chic hotel just across from the old town. great breakfast - and the scale restaurant is exceptional. rooms are well designed. I loved the automation aspects, e.g. motion-sensor lighting in the bathroom.
After this my first short visit to Cyprus, it is simply impossible not to come back to this wonderful country and to the Asty Hotel. I've there constantly helped by friendly, professional and clever people.
Nice people, lovely old Hotel and very good breakfast, car parking for free, in the old town, near Paphos gate and near to Museum and Theatre and to the Ledra street. Basic room, not a three-star-standard.
My host, Andy, was great. He is very easy going. For example, he organized and paid for a small New Year’s dinner for the five guests and himself. I will definitely contact him next time I come to Cyprus.
The location was a bit far from the city centre, about a 15 minute walk, but in a beautiful neighborhood. WiFi was OK, and there was a nice big kitchen. The House itself is very unique.
In the city centre, very nice hotel.Very friendly staff!Clean room, comfy bed and very good breakfast.Discover the area with the old , beautiful things, like a small museum!
