The hot air balloon was really the highlight of our tour in Luxor. No one should miss it along with the visits to the Valley of the Kings, Queens and Hatshetsup Palace. Downtown Luxor was also a must-see specially the old market place and the Luxor Temple and don't forget about the local food.

Luxor's archaeological sites are the most impressive I've ever seen. They are spectacular.
I went in April, in spring, and the temperature reached 38 degrees Celcius. The locals told me that in summer the temperature will be around 50 degrees.
The population appears to be very poor and the city is poorly maintained.

So much !
So much ! Magic Carpet Tours were excellent, organising a wonderful balloon ride, a dreamy sunset felucca trip to Banana Island, an amazing driver called Hassim who took me to the Valley of the KIngs, Hatshepsut's Temple, Karnak, Memnon Colossi, Temple of Luxor, and didn't hurry me at all. He drove me to Aswan the next day via Edfu and Kom Ombo. Luxor is fabulous, busy, lots of street sellers trying to get you buy or ride in their horse carriage, but a polite 'La Shukran' (no thank you) was fine and they are just making a living like the rest of us! Nefertiti Hotel was a peaceful sanctuary, and I would not have missed Luxor for the world. Personal highlights: Karnak Temples and Seti's tomb at the Valley of the Kings - awe-inspiring.

The temples and archaeological sites are amazing.
The temples and archaeological sites are amazing. But beware of many people in Luxor trying to get you on the horse and cart, boats, sell you stuff, and who follow you around trying to con you. Dont be duped into going to the "one day a week" market that is a bazaar/shop in a dirty back street. If you dont buy anything they will demand 1000EGP anyway. The souk (market) is ok, but the harassment to buy is too much. I felt very uncomfortable after 3 days and wanted to get out of there

Luxor is a beautiful place with an immersive history.
Luxor is a beautiful place with an immersive history. Karnak & Luxor temple and Avenue of Sphinxes on East Bank of Nile & Valley of Kings/Artists, Hatshepsut temple, Medinet Habu, Deir-el-madina on the west bank are the places we visited during our stay.
We didn't eat out as it was Ramadan and we wanted to be discreet with food when travelling to the sites.
We hired a guide through Aswan individual to drive and explain the significance behind the places we visited and hence, unsure as to how to travel otherwise. Having a car would be better, as the sites are spread across the city, but a cycle would do just fine.
It is better to start early in Luxor as it tends to get hot as the day progresses. So, we did most of our trips from around 7 till 2 and rested in the afternoons.
We really enjoyed our time in Luxor.
Charismatic staff, great food with vegan and vegetarian options for all meals, friendly cats in the garden, beautiful architecture, good music, cozy garden atmosphere for breakfast or a nice dinner, chill vibes.
This was our favourite place to stay at during our 2-weeks trip to Egypt. The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome from the first to the last moment. The hotel has a beautiful architecture and garden, with spacious and very clean rooms. Definitely recommend staying at Embrace Hotel if you are going to Luxor.
This hotel is a perfect little safe haven amongst the lovely chaos of Egypt! We were greeted Jorda and his on site team and catered to our every need. Mr Mostafa the owner was also a very nice man and would help us if we asked but was truly an unforgettable experience due to Jorda. The hotel backs onto a small lake that you are able to take a boat out to watch the sunset, the food is absolutely delicious. Jorda spoke with us taught us about Luxor and traditions and really was a pleasure to be acquainted with. Will be staying again!
Everything was good. The place was very nice clean and spacious. It's about 15 minutes outside the city, but the compound is situated right beside a nice market ( AL Rayah Market) and it has everything you would need to fix up a quick meal if need be.
Our host was able to set us up on a hot air balloon ride and it was one of the most amazing experiences for our family here in Egypt. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
We would encourage anyone to book the Sphinx Apartment for a nice little get away while in Luxor.
I am very satisfied with this hotel. It is clean, quite, with sufficient room, a balcony having Nile river and garden view. The food is good. The staff in rception and restaurant are very friendly and professional.
Especially I would like to mention Mahmaud and Mariam at reception area helped me to contact the hotel in Cario to have them pick me up from Cario International airport at later night, because my mobile phone did not work in Egypt and I am not familiar with Whatsup. Great thanks!
The room was huge, the kitchen had everything you will need a washing machine too. The property is right on the nile so you can take the public ferry for 5 pounds across the nile. Yassar hosted me and he was wonderful, he invited me to his home and showed real Egyptian hospitality by cooking for me free of charge and handing me drinks. If you have extra time go on a tour with yassar outside of the main sites to the desert its a unique exprience that 99% of tourists who visit Luxor will not see
The hotel is super nice, rooms are spatious and very clean, Mr Ismail help us with everything we need all the time when we stay at the hotel! At hotel are 3 restaurants ( Chinese, Italian and Lotus with Egyptian food) We eat just at the Lotus Restaurant where is egyptian food. The food was very tasty and more! Hotel style is very nice! I love it and for me is one of my favourite Hotels in Egypt! Thank you! If we have the opportunity to come back, we will come back at this hotel! 🌻
I had the best stay: great boat, perfect quality suite cabin (spacious bathroom, wardrobe, living room, huge bed).
Cleaning was made twice a day, sweet treats were added every day.
Staff was very hospitable, extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful and there for every need of mine.
The food was delicious (which is very rare for Egyptian hotels and restaurants).
Good quality ambiance in the boat bar, dining room and other places.
Evening entertainment were always fun.
I enjoyed my stay at Hilton Luxor. The waterfront view is absolutely stunning, especially watching the hot air balloons early in the morning and enjoying the sunset. Of all places I stayed during my trip to Egypt, the best food was here for sure, with lunch and dinner. The salmon with asparagus risotto was perfection. The breakfast was good but not exceptional. Overall it was a good experience, and the value for money spent was definitely worth it.
I had a delightful 2-night stay at the Fontana Hotel in Luxor, Egypt. The ambiance was serene, the staff exceptionally welcoming, and the amenities exceeded my expectations. The room was comfortable and well-maintained, offering a perfect retreat after exploring the captivating attractions nearby. I highly recommend Fontana to fellow travelers seeking a memorable stay in Luxor.
We loved the staff at the Embrace! They are honestly the best thing about the hotel! They made staying at the hotel so welcoming. Mohammed makes the best strawberry shake and Egyptian tea.
The facilities (rooms and garden) are beautiful! and buffet breakfast is really enjoyable.
It was easy to book hot air balloon trip through the hotel at a good value and was a great trip!
Everything: friendly, efficient and well educated staff; beautiful hotel with a terrace where you can enjoy the wonderful view of Luxor Temple (you can eat your meals there, the restaurant is quite cheap and above all very good); perfect location near main attractions; clean and beautiful room, certainly above average egyptian standard). I would come back here
Everything: friendly, efficient and well educated staff; beautiful hotel with a restaurant terrace and rooftop where you can enjoy the wonderful view of Luxor Temple (you can eat your meals there, perfect location near main attractions; clean and beautiful room, certainly above average egyptian standard). I would come back here
The Hotel was ok, located on the Nile, relatively clean (by Egyptian standards). Has several restaurants & bars on the premises, with many seats in the garden overlooking the Nile, which is great. Prices were not high. For Egypt it would probably deserve a score of "8", for Europe more like a "5", so I gave it a "6".
Family run hotel, staff is so friendly and helpful. They booked us a great driver to see some extra temples! Rooms were clean, nothing fancy (but as expected in Egypt). Perfect location from the ferries on the West Bank. Lovely rooftop restaurant/seating area. We had the breakfast and was just what we needed
Exceeded expectations - Luxor was the highlight of our trip to Egypt in no small part due to our stay at this property. Clean and spacious modern rooms with everything you need for a comfortable stay - laundry, kitchen, great view of the nile, nearby to the public ferry and local food on the main street
Staff.at Steigenberger are very friendly, helpful accomodating and very welcoming. The hotel and the facilities are very clean. Great Egyptian hospitality. Great shout out to Sherif and Mustafa.. Special mention to the Lebanese and Thai restaurants. Great stay in Luxor. Highly recommended
The house is absolutely gorgeous, Kosta is a great host, the best we had in Egypt and really took care of us. We had a health issue while being in Luxor and he and his team were very helpful and understanding. I truly recommend this place and thank Kosta for his amazing work!
Best hotel that we stayed in Egypt (out of 4). Everything was good. Staff was polite and helpful. We got an upgrade to the best part of the complex. The hotel is old, but well maintained. Very luxurious. Garden and pool areas are just beautiful. You can walk to Luxor temple.
The best experience with hotel so far in my trip to Egypt, because of the price I expected less but everything is very clean and with all the accomodations. Omar and Hamza have been very helpful in everything, I felt like home.
The hotel is not luxury one. But it has its unique style.
Very nice terrace and amazing view.
Close to the centre of luxor where you can se authentic Egyptian markets.
