A busy tourist beachside town with plenty of choice for restaurants bars etc as well as the usual holidays shops. The main shopping area is pedestrianised so thats great but for me too crowded and busy, a sort of Spanish Benalmadena without the nonsense, clean, no drinks and no nonsense

Calella beach was very clean and stretches for a few miles before it joins the next resort and didn’t get overcrowded. Nice restaurants and bars and the town is much quieter than Lloret which was a pleasant surprise. Would recommend a visit and would definitely go back. It is easy to walk around the narrow streets and along the promenade to the next resorts along the coast. Calella is a lovely traditional Spanish town. More local than tourist. With less choice of food and drink that a lot of other Spanish towns . Great shopping areas and friendly local people . Local beaches but no promenades.

Calella is 1.5h from Barcelona city. If you're prepared to travel that far outside the city, then stay here. There are not a lot of activities to do in the area, this place is best for lounging about on the beach or by the pool.

Jaume, on reception, was friendly and made us feel very welcome. Great service! The aparthotel was fine, had everything you expect. You could tell the furnishings had been around for a while but you could not complain. The pool was open and very clean, a nice area. The hotel opened the dining room at 5.00 am. to allow competitors at the Barcelona Ironman to have a good breakfast before their race. That is real quality service. Poolnis small but very functional.

I fully recommend it. Bus stop to Barcelona city/airport and near village locations: in only 3 minutes. Train station: around 15/20 minutes walk.
