The town is in the middle of the Picos de Europa. Although not as well-known as some other mountain ranges, the scenery is as good as the Alps, if not better, The town centre is fairly flat with plenty of bars and restaurants. There is a very nice ice cream shop. All the local people we met were very friendly.

A pleasant village in the Picos - provides a better alternative to the busy and more popular Potes and Panes. Eating out is reasoanbly easy, though choice can be a bit limited. Quite a few hotels here and some smaller guest houses too. Scenery in the area is outstanding - I recommend for anything from walking to motorcycling.

We had timed our visit to coincide with the Cabrales cheese and cider festival (last Sunday of August) as we have attended this before and enjoyed it and we were not disappointed; the whole town was buzzing with people, traditional Asturian music and costumes and lots of superb traditional food. There’s a regular bus service to Poncebos from where there is access to lovely walks such as the village of Bulnes (can also be accessed by funicular train) and the stunning Cares Gorge and others

This town is a gateway to Picos de Europa, where we did several days of hiking. There are some good hotels here. However, food choices are very limited, especially for vegetarians/vegans. Note that most places don't start serving dinner until 8 pm, which was a challenge after we'd been out on the trails until the afternoon.

Las Arenas is set in stunning Picos scenery.

Las Arenas is set in stunning Picos scenery. Cheese cave is close and worth visting, set above river of the clearest water. The approach to Las Arenas from the east is through a spectacular limestone gorge, along a good road with stopping places from which to enjoy the views. We did not have time to take funicular to Bulnes but would do that if we went again.

Came here to walk the Cares Route through Picos de Europa - a stunning part of Spain, simply beautiful. Lots of options in town for eating and drinking, and a supermarket also. Enjoyed our brief stat. The Cares Route walk, 24 kms, is not for the faint hearted though!

We spend 5 nights and 4 days in Hotel Naranjo De Bulnes. The location is perfect to explore the Picos. In 10-15 min by car (or bus!) you’re in Poncebos to start the Ruta del Cares and many other hikes. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was cleaned everyday. There was also a shared place/bar for the guests where we could have a drink and play a game. Also our bikes where stalled safe inside! Recommend everyone who want to stay a couple of days in the Picos!

This was a lovely hotel/apartment. It was clean and the small kitchen area was equipped sufficiently for breakfast and making a light meal. Fridge is very useful. The staff and owner were extremely friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay so much we returned later in our vacation. Arenas is a lovely town with good places to eat and, if you have a car, easy access to the northern part of the Picos. There are a few walks directly from the town.

It was bank holidays and there was no one at the recwption. The lady sent us a whatsapp message with the explanation of how to get the key with the pin code. It was really easy, and the lady who helped us on the phone was very nice!! She helped us to fix the issue of the room. The location is great, and I love walking to the little square with restaurants, bars, and local products shops. Parking is right outside of the hotel, which is perfect!

Ivan was the nicest host, knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel is in a fantastic location, in the beautiful town on las arenas cabrales….but slightly away from the Main Street. There were great dining options nearby, a laundromat 100 mtrs away, fantastic access to the hiking routes, next to ample free parking. we were there during a festival and it was just the right time and right place.

This small rural hotel surpassed every expectation. It is situated in idealic surroundings complete with a view of sheep and a horse just behind the property. It was exceptionally clean, quiet at night, comfortable beds, did I mention the incredible views! Carmen was super helpful with any questions we had great suggestions for nearby easy hikes. This was a lovely gem of a hotel. It was very clean, the staff were really helpful and friendly also. Good breakfast selection. We wanted to go walking in the Pico's and it was a perfect location for us as we could easily get to more walks than we could physically do in the week we stayed there. We had a lovely room which was very comfortable and both slept really well.

Our stay at the Pension was great, parking with plenty of space right in front and the host is super nice! It was very convenient to have access to the outside kitchen. The kitchen equipment wasn't the cleanest, though this is not to be blamed on the host but unfortunately fellow travelers). Great location for access to the Picos de Europa with great hikes.

Very good accommodation with free parking on the dirt outside of the building, close to the most famous trail of Picos de Europa, well equipped kitchen, spacious apartment. The price of the accommodation was really great compare to the others by the ocean, and you can get to the beach in only 40 minutes.
