We loved our stay at Veintiuno, the staff were incredible and facilitated our every need. The rooms are well appointed, the breakfast was delicious, and the location is perfect. There are lots of really good restaurants nearby (El Santo was our favourite). Aside from the excellent staff, the rooftop area was our highlight. Lovely pool and lounge area with lots of seating options and an honesty bar. We will definitely be back.

The Gran Canaria capital, Las Palmas offers everything that the Canaries stand for: year-round sun, fantastic beaches and great nightlife. However, the largest city of this volcanic island group is more than just a beach resort - its mix of traditional and modern makes it stand out from the crowd.
Colourful Colonial façades line Calle Triana, a top shopping street, while the out-of-town Las Arenas shopping complex is much more contemporary in design. The El Muelle shopping centre is near Parque Santa Catalina and the surrounding restaurants, bars and clubs are focal points of Las Palmas nightlife, together with the historic Vegueta district.
Vegueta is also home to Santa Ana cathedral, best viewed from the palm-lined square which houses the Canary Island Museum. Around the corner is the Casa Museo de Colón, where Columbus stayed en route to America. No doubt he sailed from huge Puerto de la Luz whose numerous vessels are guarded by a lighthouse and stone castle.
On the opposite side of the promontory is long Las Canteras beach, lined by a promenade providing great mountain views in both directions. The 5-star hotels by the beach are just some of Booking.com’s Las Palmas accommodation options, alongside cheap guest houses and apartments, all linked by coastal road to Gran Canaria Airport.

The island will definitely appeal to alot of people from all walks - Interestingly the south caters for more touristic attractions and opportunities whilst the centre and north are more historic. The island is accessible via public transport from St. Telmo (bus station) - You'll need to work out the way the busses work (Blue for inter-town, Orange for inside towns) and download the GuaGua app (There's two of them!) - Google Maps helps alot in navigating whilst Apple-Maps is a little sparse on information.
Dont go the route to hire a car - Its not needed and buses are frequent and easily accommodating.
Restaurants are a pick'n'mix re success - Some are great (look for the locals seems a big deal)

Great to walk all over the city.
Great to walk all over the city. The old town and so many beautiful beaches where there are no tourists. They are all on one beach. Positive attitude from everyone I met. Nice to rent a bicycle and travel on excellent bicycle routes throughout the city. Lots of good restaurants. I was there for a month, it felt way too short.

What an island!
What an island! It has an amazing beach - Las Canteras - and amazing places to visit, eat and relax. It is best to rent a car, but you can also use the public buses, which work really well. The taxis are also affordable and reliable. People are friendly, but not overly invasive of your personal space.

Las Palmas is not a particularly pretty town/city; however...
Las Palmas is not a particularly pretty town/city; however the old town of Vegueta is only about 15 minutes on the bus and has both the historic old town with narrow streets, plus the modern shopping street with most of the highstreet shops, and plenty of restaurants and bars.
Las Palmas has many bars and restaurants, as well as the main shopping street Mesa y Lopez, with El Corte Ingles and many more highstreet shops.
There are a couple of indoor shopping centres - one near the Auditorium and one near the port. The Auditorium itself is an interesting building and worth a visit. It looked to have a good programme of concerts too.
There are lots of restaurants and bars on the Canteras promenade but there are also some good ones a block or so back. Lacan (plaza Faray) for pizzas is brilliant but you do have to book, especially at the weekend, and Toma Pan y Moja, which is a small bar on the Canteras promenade is very small and friendly and has some beautiful food and wine. The prawns and the Saharan Calamari are to die for! The bar Ginger further along the promenade serves the best mojitos and La Maravilla a on the next corner does a very good plate of mixed fried fish.

Las Palmas is the biggest city with beaches in canary island and I found it incredible in terms of culture and mentality. The feeling is like traveling in South America, people are easy fun and open minded. I was there for the carnival closure day and it was amazing. Definitely the best carnival I have ever been, and I have been in quite a few.

Locals were very unfreindly toward tourists, I feel very unwelcome .Buildings were not pretty and actually tasteless. Not recommended gran canaria because of hostility toward tourists. There are plenty of sunny places in europe .

We stayed here for 1 night before we flew back to London.
Hotel was located in a central location, close to the beach and shops. We were lucky to see a carnival parade pass the hotel, which was a nice surprise.
Breakfast buffet was tasty and filling.
Reception helpful and friendly. We was given a complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival, which was appreciated after a long day of sight-seeing.
We will stay again if we are in visit Gran Canaria in the future.
For the price it was a great place to stay, I think the bad comments here are from people who expect 5 star hotel experience for pennies. The place had everything a tired traveller might need and it was reasonably clean, very good location, easy to get to by public transport, lots of shops in the area, and beaches. The room was small, but as I was traveling alone, it didn't bother me, the main thing was that the bed was comfortable and I had a good sleep.
The appartment exceeded all expectations. That was our first trip to Gran Canaria and we were very impressed with the hospitality of the hosts. Wine, chocolates, lots of clean towels and a nice appartment just 100 metres from the ocean. That was a great experience. Exceptional thanks to Nestor who habded over the keys and showed everything in the appartment. We would definitely choose the same appartment at any next opportunity!
Location could not have been better for visiting the original areas of Las Palmas. Walk out the door and it is pedestrian-friendly shops and restaurants, as well as classic architecture and a sense of the area from which the Canary Islands (and explored territories beyond) sprang. Also, the staff at the location was understated, but available for any and every need, including a pre-arranged taxi for the airport on getaway day.
I have stayed at this property a number of times. The reason I keep coming back is because this property ticks all the boxes for me. It's centrally located and yet it's on a quiet street. Restaurants, and supermarkets, are all within easy walking distance. The San Telmo bus station is easily accessible on foot. San Telmo is one of the main transport hubs in Las Palmas.
Overall, the hotel is very pleasant and beautiful. The staff is very helpful, friendly and professional. Breakfast is good and adequate. The location is perfect for those who want to stay in the historic area of Las Palmas. Despite being in the heart of the historic centre, the rooms are quiet and you don't hear any noise from the surrounding streets.
Central location for beach or into town and within easy walking distance to main bus station for airport or trips throughout gran canaria if you've not got a hired car.
The urban beach apartments is in a quiet street we never heard any noise from traffic etc.
Would highly recommend these apartments everything was perfect for a week break in the sun.
Fashionable hotel with a perfect location. Our room was lovely with comfortable beds an duvets - a rarity on Gran Canaria. We had a view over the beach and we particularly enjoyed spending the evenings on the rooftop terrace, having dinner and drinks there. Also worked well for my son, 9 years. Friendly and accommodating staff speaking English.
It's a very calm place. You will find all the amenities you need. Very close to the beach, supermarkets, and restaurants. The bed is super comfortable, and the common areas are great, especially for work. Cinthya is charmful and she will help you with whatever you need. On my next trip to Gran Canaria, I will stay here again for sure.
This Hostell was closed for over 3 months, and I was the very first guest, so I a chance to meet the Owner, Managers and the Hostel personnel. I felt Wellcomed and always kindly treated.
I felt home! I definitely would recommend to all those that seek a stay in the Old Town "Vegueta" from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Lovely, spacious apartment with kitchen and bathroom fully equipped. Great location, town centre so easy to walk everywhere (to both beaches and restaurants/bars).
A little difficult to park but all of Las Palmas is, drove couple of streets north towards El Confitel and found easier, free parking.
It's really cheap to stay at this hotel and the location is fantastic. If you want to visit gran canaria on a budget and don't want to stay in the south where people go to lounge on sun beds it's a great option. It's also across the street from a fantastic Mexican place.
Beautiful modern hotel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Friendly staff, clean rooms, excellent bed, great outdoor pool on the upper floor with nice bar. Located closely to restaurants and visiting points. Would certainly recommend staying here;
We loved the location of this property on the beautiful and historic Plaza Santa Ana within steps of the top three tourist attractions in Las Palmas, the room, cleanliness, view, decor, staff and rooftop lounge were all top notch!
The location is great. There's very few low budget options on Gran Canaria and this one is a great value for money.
We got a big room with private bathroom and we're very happy with it.
Lovely host and location perfect for exploring various parts of Las Palmas. Room was perfect for us and access to the garden a bonus. Loads of good places to eat in walking distance
The apartment looks renovated and had everything you could want for a great stay.
Felt like i could live there if i had to stay in Las Palmas for a while.
