The Spanish Soul of Art and Entertainment

Modern Madrid is one of the greenest cities in Europe and the most popular destination in Spain. Whether you want to experience its legendary nightlife or a flamenco show, this is the place to be.

The renowned Museo del Prado holds one of the world’s finest art collections with iconic paintings by El Greco, Velázquez and Goya. For more modern touch, the Museo Reina Sofia houses Picasso’s and Dali’s most respected works.

Start your evening at Puerta del Sol, one of the city’s busiest spots. Make some room in your stomach for great tapas and sangria in La Latina district, south of the city’s most famous plaza, Plaza Mayor.

Real Madrid plays at Santiago Bernabeu and Atlético Madrid competes at Vicente Calderón Stadium, two opportunities that no sports fan will want to miss. The popular Salamanca district is a great place to look for boutique gifts and unique shops.

Thanks to great public transportation system, getting to the city centre from Madrid Barajas International Airport is very easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, budget hostels or comfy apartments, Booking.com has a perfect place for your Madrid holiday.

Since this was our second tourist visit, we were more keen to visit places out of Madrid, like Toledo, Zaragoza etc. Madrid is pretty expensive for hotels, decent hotels cost you a lot. But the city Metro system is good or else taxis are expensive. Please take care of train station you intend to go, as there are two major train stations, confusion or wrong train station leads to last minute problems

We went to go to the three major art galleries - found a couple of good eating places (one of them, for chocolate and churros, thanks to Michael Portillo) - the others Rosi La Luna & for breakfast the Brown Bear Bakery. Never needed to use public transport or taxis to achieve what we needed - except a taxi to the station (only to discover no spaces on the trains to Toledo for 4-5 hours) so took a taxi to Toledo direct.

The hotel's central location is excellent, all tourist attractions can be seen on foot. I appreciate the cleanliness of the room and the kindness of the staff. However, I cannot but mention the poverty of the monotonous breakfast, every day the same two slices of bread, a croissant, some transparent slices of cheese and a box of butter. I can say that I have never met such an anemic breakfast in any other hotel in Europe. I also didn't like the fact that you had to sit at the table and wait to be served with the portion by a lady a bit overwhelmed by the situation. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to have a kettle and some tea in the rooms for cool days like the ones we had. Honestly, the high price I paid was more reflected in the location of the hotel than in its facilities.

Madrid is a great walking city full of art, parks, monuments, history with lots of fun bars and great restaurants. Everywhere we went we had great experiences. An easy to navigate metro system which also linked into inter city rail travel is a bonus. We felt safe at all times. Love the different places and the smaller calles that spread off them.

A fab place if you like art.

A fab place if you like art. Madrid should be an example for all European cities: the Prado and Reina Sofia museums offer daily free visits in late afternoon. What a smart way to attract people who do not initially have art as their main focus.

Loved my stay ! This is a great hotel - family owned and operated with impeccable value for money. Location is right next to the airport and the trade show area whilst being in a residential, everyday neighbourhood filled with affordable stores, supermarkets and other convenient services. Hotel is spotless and very comfortable. Great bed, great shower with good water pressure ( important !). Breakfast is fine with a very good coffee machine . Service is the best I've had in Spain to date : friendly at all times, fast and really helpful.

The hotel is located at one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Madrid, Barrio de las letras. It is in the center of Madrid but is not loud at all and not that crowded. You have too many options like bars, supermarkets and beautiful alternative boutiques to shop. The owners of the hotel are so pleasant and helpful, they can give you any info you want about the city. The room is small, convenient, absolutely clean and with all the comforts you need. One of the best accommodation experiences that i would choose again for sure!

The property is in an older building across the park from the Royal Palace. We thought this was the best property we stayed in on our two weeks in Spain. Room was huge, as was the bathroom, sitting area and coffee/tea service was a nice touch. This is a "hostal" ( a small family owned hotel) and well worth staying at. Elevator to upper floors, front desk is up a floor from entrance. Several restaurants, tapas bars, pastry and ice cream shops within walking distance. Would stay here again the next time.

The location is AMAZING, the view from my room was unbelievable (Spain's National Library), the room had everything I needed (perfect wifi, air conditioner, good space, safety security box, kitchen, all amenities - they even gave me a coffee machine when I asked for one). the front desk/reception was available 24/7 and helped me with everything I needed. Truly, exceeded my expectations and will definitely stay again when I go back to Madrid!

All the staff at the hotel were very nice and friendly , the gentleman who checked us in also gave us some recommendations of good Spanish restaurants nearby, sadly I forgot to get his name. The bar is very nice & so is the swimming pool. The hotel is 2 minutes walk away from the Metro which takes you into Madrid city centre and there are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance. We parked in their underground carpark which was secure and reasonably priced.

This hotel provided me with exactly what you want for a stay in Madrid. It is in the city centre. Breakfast good also a good restaurant ( other restaurants nearby ) for anyone with a car it has a garage . However , it was cold weather , the room was kept warm but you do not have any way to control it. Room on the 4th floor hot water took a long time to come through . Bathroom a bit cramped for a double (2person) room. Taxi stand just outside is very convenient.

We did have a meal in our room 1 evening and again it was well presented and freshly cooked. The hotel is situated in Madrid city centre close to bus routes and Metro. Our room was overlooking the main street but noise wasn't a problem. Plenty of storage space and the bathroom looked newly refurbished. The bed was very comfortable. Highly recommended.

The nearest metro station is about 10 minutes walking. Overall I recommend this place to stay and definitely we will book for a second time in Madrid.
