Really liked the area, the location of the hotel.
Really liked the area, the location of the hotel.
Hospitality was fine but some things were really amateuristic or even unprofessional, like very bad English and / or German speaking staff.
The restaurant is an absolute no go.
A home made version of mint tea seems to be a tea bag in hot water and home made fries come from the freezer.
Very old fashioned, very limited choices, absolutely nothing available without meat.

Lovely, very picturesque, nice restaurants, very affordable for small budget, too.
Restaurant Ve dvore in Decin, duck was very nice, didn't care much for the bread dumplings
Restaurant Bamboo in Hrensko, pleasant.
Hotel restaurant Vypres, very nice.
Getting around in Decin is easy. However, the public transport schedules have changes in certain periods in the year, so read bus schedules carefully, or you might find out a certain bus doesn't ride anymore at a certain time after (f.e. 3 september) a certain date.
Tip for hikers: Google maps isn't very precise with the yellow trail's starting point: to avoid wandering, ask Tourist information the precise starting point!

Děčín is an ideal base for exploring the region and national...
Děčín is an ideal base for exploring the region and national park of České Švýcarsko with all of its natural and cultural attractions to be accessed by hiking, cycling, climbing, rafting, etc. Among the top destinations in the neighbourhood are the Tiské stěny (really exceptionally beautiful rock formations), the Soutěsky Kamenice (a marvellous gorge with 2 boat trips), and the Pravčická brána (the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe) although the latter is a bit over-touristic. While the town is relatively small (about 47,000 inhabitants), it has a lot of restaurants of different levels and styles, and is excellently connected to Prague and Berlin via non-stop Eurocity trains. The town itself has a small but nice historic centre, with the castle being its most important historic attraction. If you like swimming (incl. whirlpools, slides, etc.), visit the really enjoyable and inexpensive Aquapark, which also has its own hotel ("Aqua Hotel").

Děčín is a very nice town.
Děčín is a very nice town. Its a bit quiet now but many things to see. Very close to Hrensko where u can have nice walks.
The castle is nice to visit.
Parking is free in the weekends.
Best Restaurants : Fabrika (old factory transformed into a restaurant)
Good service, good nice filled plates and good quality.
and Restaurace růžové zahrady.
Good service , nice czech dishes and nice terrace.
Bad Restaurant: Athena (Greek restaurant in the castle) The service was terrible and unfriendly. They kept us waiting and didn't care to attend the table for over 20 minutes. The fish was not fresh but frozen and the salad was old. They charged way too much for the quality and quantity. But mainly the service is not what u expect from a restaurant located in a castle. Dont go there!

Nice city, not too big and not too touristy.
Nice city, not too big and not too touristy. To get to the other side of the river by foot is a little difficult, however there a plenty of citybusses. You can change money from the Czech State Railwaycompany (Ceske Drahy) at the main railwaystation without commission and pretty good rates, there are nice little bars, kavarna close to the hostel, especially the surroundings of Decin are amazing beautyful. I would more recommend to leave the city and take a train or bus to the mountains, to the little villages or hire a bike (along the river you can easily cycle). At the same main train station (hlavni nadrazi) you can rent bikes for 180 Kc per day.
Beautiful house with pretty grounds, guest space and good proximity to Děčín by bus. Rooms were unique and comfortable with a lot of pretty period features. We appreciated the nice picnic table to sit on outside where I had nice mornings with a book and coffee.
We were late arriving due to someone in our party having an emergency in Prague but the host stayed in good contact with us.
Buses into Děčín are every 20/30 minutes or so.
Dogs onsite - not as problem for us as dog people but worthy of note.
If you're looking for a relaxing place, close to nature and away from the daily life, then here is the right place. 30 minutes from Basteibrücke. You need a car to move around. We were on our second day in Decin, 15 minutes with the car, amazing city..
The pension offer breakfast and dinner. Everything was so good, homemade meals.. the lady at the reception and restaurant is really friendly... We will be back for sure
The Arrigo restaurant in the hotel is just perfect. Amazing food!
Perfect location to start exploring the nature of the Bohemian Switzerland.
The apartment itself is spacious and well furnished, and you can use the gym free of charge.
1. Excellent location: the hotel is within walking distance from the town's attractions, cafes, and a supermarket.
2. Clean and spacious room.
3. Safe garage for bicycles.
4. Friendly and helpful staff.
5. Good breakfast.
The location was good, close to a couple of Decin landmarks in a quiet part of the town. The bed was comfortable. The property was kind to prepare a nice crib for our toddler. The staff was friendly.
Lovely location on a peaceful hill overlooking Decin, well equipped and clean. Included essentials and some treats (the cider was perfect). The host kept in touch and was really friendly.
The best thing were the friendly owners, parking in front of the buliding, great view of Decin. Everything was very clean and we were allowed to use the fireplace, even wood was provided.
A nice apartment. Good breakfast, parking in front of the hotel. Nice surroundings.
A good starting point for exploring the region. Castle, as well as nice pubs and restaurants nearby.
The host is very nice man. I also like the flat. There were all needed dishes for cooking. It is close to train station. If I come back to Děčín, I will definitely book this flat :-)
Everything, especially the concept of the hotel. Also the breakfast is to the point, and the owners and staff super friendly people and nice to chitchat with.
Authentic hotel (probably family-owned) with fancy wall decorations. I wish we could get Star Wars appartment ;). Very friendly owners. Nice breakfast.
