Clean attractive facilities. Very nice main lodge building.
Jasper sits in a green valley within a national park surrounded by the majestic Canadian Rockies. Water in its various forms has shaped the dramatic scenery and continues to create serene landscapes.
Tree-lined Lake Beauvert is the closest to town, but Pyramid and Patricia lakes are more famous thanks to the rugged peaks perfectly reflected in their still waters. Arguably the best of all is Maligne Lake whose incredible water colour is eclipsed by small, pine-lined Spirit Island. You may not know the name, but you’ll probably recognise the view.
Many glaciers come off the huge Columbia Icefield, roughly midway between Jasper and Lake Louise. Some have cut canyons where you can go ice walking. Other winter sports include ice skating and skiing at the Marmot Basin resort, named after local animals.
Bears inhabit the surrounding forests and more wildlife lives at The Den at Whistler Inn, just one Jasper accommodation option on Booking.com alongside mountain lodges and pet-friendly hotels with pools.
The Jasper Tramway – Canada’s highest cable car – goes to the top of The Whistlers mountain, and on the slopes of another are the Miette Hot Springs open-air pool. The Jasper-Yellowhead Museum details the area’s history, and traditional Haida styles and colours are celebrated in the modern Two Brothers Totem Pole
Jasper is a cute and walkable little town. But note, it's little....a lot smaller than Canmore or the Banff towns. Places to stay are also limited in comparison. But the skiing at Marmot was top notch and not crowded at all especially when compared to Lake Louise, Norquay, or Sunshine.

I love Jasper. The mountains views are awe inspiring.
I love Jasper. The mountains views are awe inspiring. As many times as I see them, the mountains continue to amaze me. Jasper still has the local small town feeling that other mountain towns have lost over the years. Many businesses are run by the owners rather than franchises.

Unfortunately the ski season was a bit down this year. After really cold temps the week before we arrive, they experience warmer than average temps when we were their and snow quality was not real good. We still made the most of our visit by enjoying this winter wonderland and the sites that Jasper provides

To put the review in context, we were only in Jasper for a couple of days prior to the Winter Season to catch The Canadian to Toronto. This meant many of the major sites were not yet available to access. However, while there, what we discovered was a lovely small town that is the focal point for travelling to the beautiful areas in the vicinity. The people are very friendly and helpful and there are also plenty of excellent places to eat and drink.
It is worth the visit.

It's easy to get around Jasper.
It's easy to get around Jasper. They have just recently provided long-term parking, which works for those driving their own vehicle to get on and return from the Jasper to Prince Rupert Via Rail train run (Sept. 2023). We picked up Starbucks drinks, ordered food from a variety of restaurants that were yummy. Gluten Free/Dairy Free options are available at a few restaurants; no desserts though, as per usual restaurant fare.

We visited Angel Glacier.
We visited Angel Glacier. Wouldn't have missed that for anything. Malign Lake and the boat trip to Spirit Island was memorable. Glad we didn't miss that. We were there 2 days. 3 would have been better.
Cute, new cabins close to the hwy with parking at the front door. Our host was very helpful in answering questions about Jasper and even made phone calls as we didn't have service in Canada. The rooms were very clean and the kitchenette had easy to use appliances. The fireplace started with a switch on the wall and kept us cozy during the rain. Floor mat inside the front door kept the floor clean. Glad to have paper, cloth goods and detergent to wash dishes. The outside maintenance was very well done!
The bungalows were cozy and comfortable and we got it at the last minute because our room was cancelled in Jasper with the fires. The restaurant was exceptional and we had a great time the 2 nights we were there. We loved how quaint and historical the cabins were. We look for that kind of lodging. It is a ways up in there, so be prepared for that, but we loved it. The fireplace is a plus, but you do have to air your room out after you build your fire since the cabins are small.
Clean cabin with basic furniture for a cabin. It did have a table for eating comfortably rather than just a kitchen counter. Bed was fine. No settee but the 2 armchairs were comfortable. There is no TV. Decent enough air conditioning unit. On the edge of Jasper national park. Cabin facing the main road but there is a curtain of greenery that can fool you into believing that you are in the middle of nature. Overall much better than other cabins in the park.
Phenomenal stay. I originally booked a hotel right in Jasper but changed to the Overlander even though it was well out of the way. No regrets! The property was beautiful and all of the staff were so incredibly warm and welcoming. The dinner at the restaurant was probably the best tasting meal I’ve had in my life. I would happily stay here again.
Hotel is very nice, walking distance to central Jasper, quiet and well maintained with a lot of character. We had a loft room, a little smaller than we expected but still very good for 2 people. Didn't try the restaurant and hot tub wasn't working, but otherwise quite happy with the hotel.
The hotel is old but well maintained, very clean and nicely appointed. Excellent location. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Staying in Jasper is expensive but I felt this was really good value compared to other places I have stayed. My room had a great view.
The room was spacious. The beds were comfortable. There was a fridge in the room. The cable TV was okay. The room was quiet. She checked us in early. All rooms are pet friendly rooms so pets are not relegated to one section of the hotel.
Great location. Heart of Jaspers main strip. Very clean and tidy rooms. Hotel staff anel to meet a few all very nice and friendly. For those requiring internet and Wi-Fi they do have it.
The hotel is located in the centre of Jasper. Walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets.
There is washing machine and dryer to do your own laundry and it is very cheap
Idyllic hotel in perfect location. Affordable option outside of Jasper. Comfy room, free logs and great staff. Food in restaurant very tasty and great selection of drinks.
Very friendly staff, warm greeting. Good coffee in the room as far as hotel coffee goes. Quick walk to restaurants and shops. Clean room, nice restaurant, pet friendly :)
You get the mountain and the river view . Few rooms facing the river and it was amazing. There are many lakes closer to this hotel and jasper city is 4 minutes away.
