What was shocking was the totally burnt out areas on the mountains surrounding and in the park. However, we could see new young growth emerging......so eventually in years to come, these trees will replace the burnt out ones.

Village area is small and was fairly quiet during our end of season visit. There are two main roads to explore in park and a number of hiking trails. Wilderness areas are still showing effects of major fires a few years ago. Several good restaurants in village area.

Without even going hiking we saw tons of wildlife straight from the car! Out of our very quick Canadian Rockies and Glacier national park trip, this is where I want to come back first. It's quiet and understated and beautiful. Give it a shot! (Saw elk, bear, fox, big horn sheep, bald eagle in just a few hours.)

EVERYTHING is extremely overpriced.
EVERYTHING is extremely overpriced. I do admit that the beef tenderloin dinner at the Royal Stewart Dining Room in the Prince of Wales hotel was exceptional and worth the price - the downside is that the Prince of Wales charges for parking even for guests!

Did the Crypt Lake hike (20K in/out), our 7 yr old made it too. Boat crew was good. The Park is nice because it gives the National Park experience with a lot tod, but smaller and not as crowded. Prices can be a little high, but likely due to location (ship in costs for supplies/amenities).

Waterton Lake is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Carved by glaciers, the scenery is amazing. The fire in 2017 destroyed the park, but vegetations is coming back and the town was saved. The town is very small so make sure you have reservations, but that also means everything is in walking distance. The new Visitor Center is very well done.
Tucked in the most beautiful national park in have ever visited. This place was in a perfect location 5 min walk to the lake and restaurants, 5 min drive from bears hump trail head, prince of Wales hotel and Cameron falls. The facilities were dated but I think that just added to the charm, considering it is an 80 year old building it is in excellent condition. Staff were super friendly and very diligent about their cleaning protocols. I will stay here everytime I visit Waterton I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the village itself.
Fantastic location. The place is near to the highway to Waterton, but secluded. The place is perfectly serene -- absolutely no noise or light at night. The place is situated near ranches and seeing the north peaks of Waterton -- the scenery is incredibly beautiful. The communal space in the Unit C is spacious, and each bedroom is as big as any good hotels. The place was clean and well maintained. Amenities in the house are thoughtfully arranged. The place also have a small woods to make a campfire.
Did not eat any meals. But the corner jacuzzi bathtub inside the main room indicated clearly …. Fully renovated meant the 1980’s!!! The carpet was disgusting and dirty. No one would be happy to have carpeting in a hotel anymore… especially since most people are there for the hiking so the dirty boots and the Covid non cleaning each day means that dirt is grinding into the floors!! Gross thought!!
It was easy to book on booking.com, the check in went smoothly, except for the manager barging in like a customer and demanding the clerks attention, then going behind the desk and doing it herself, making me feel unwelcome. Central location, reasonable price and close to all amenities. The partnership with Kilmorey seems helpful, nice restaurant across the street.
The location is second to none! The food was superb, matched with the view made the stay so spectacular. The rooms are utilitarian, but only because the hotel has kept with the original period architecture, but this makes the stay all the more magical! Chester the Chief Bellman was a welcoming and colorful addition to the experience.
Lovely community. Room was clean, however not even close to a 4 star as advertised. No housekeeping services. Room was old, small and outdated. Hotel provided Styrofoam and plastic cups in the rooms. No television reception. No ice machine. Extremely noisy into the early morning hours. I will not recommend to anyone.
the view from the third floor room is spetacular. We got to see the mountains and the morning sunshine was beautiful that lights up the terrace. We sat on the lawn chair that was provided and enjoy the view while having coffee. If You're asking for hotel price,Aspen is located right in the park so of course its pricey.
Very high end hotel. Location and cleanliness were excellent. Beautifully presented hotel (we heard it was rebuilt from fire in 2022, so it’s basically brand new and it shows). Pub was good, restaurant was excellent, waking distance from everything, the only thing we’ll think twice about in future is the price.
The hotel is of course old but beautiful, you feel you are stepping back in time, not the comfort we know today but that is what makes the hotel special. Would go again in a heart beat. Breakfast was only coffee, banana bread and a few fruit pieces
Historical preservation of this beautiful hotel is remarkable. You don’t stay for the modern amenities, but the location is breathtaking and it still has a regal feel. Beds were comfy, shower was modern and the views were hard to beat.
Nice and central location, restaurant was lovely and the staff were all friendly. Nice to have a fridge in the room and the playpark/splash park opposite the hotel was just perfect as we brought along our 3 year old twins.
Excellent staff. The rebuilt hotel is both new and historic, excellent blend. The Lake views were phenomenal and comfortable from the room balcony. The restaurant and lounge well worth the visit.
Incredible location, very friendly staff, delicious food, and beautiful touches that made us feel like we were in both a rustic and modern space. 10/10 recommend.
