We spent an exceptionally beautiful time at Levit Glamping and recommend staying here 100%! From the very first second we were just amazed by the beauty of this place. The location is spectacular: Directly by the lake and super calm and private with no other buildings around - only stunning nature. Because of the silence you’re able to hear (and watch) all the birds and completely relax. The place itself is super cute and you can feel the love they put into it. All the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive - the whole time we felt welcomed and well cared for in a very genuine way. During movie night they even surprised us with popcorn which was adorable. The bathroom was clean and modern plus the shower had a very good water pressure. Another big plus were the three adorable dogs which made us feel super safe at night. :) The place also offers activities like educational walks through the forest and you can use their kayaks anytime during the day, which we sadly didn’t have any time for since we only stayed one night. Next time we’re gonna try and come back for longer. Definitely stay here if you want to be able to enjoy a beautiful, relaxing time away from everything!

Wonderfully idyllic location right by the lake, a beautiful spot for an early morning swim. The finca is Dennis and Martha's home which they share with their guests. We had the family suite which meant we had access to two conjoint bedrooms which was plenty of space for our family of four. Meals are provided and cooked on request and the BBQ chicken the hosts grilled for us was lovely, as were the pancakes for breakfast. They couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. Our hired car broke down and Martha spent ages on the phone organising a replacement for us. Both our kids had the best time at the Lake B&B and overall it was one of our best stays in Colombia.

I definitelywould recommend staying at least overnight to be able to enjoy Guatape. The day trip just doesn't cover it. Plus a bonus is being able to walk around in the morning when nobody is around!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay in the cute little town of Guatape. We climbed up the Piedra del penol rock and the views are mind-blowing. We also enjoyed our stay at La Pausa hotel with stellar lakefront views. Loved Guatape:)

I spent 3 nights in Guatapé. Lovely town.
I spent 3 nights in Guatapé. Lovely town. Such a relaxed vibe. I think it’s a shame to just come on a day trip to take of few photos of colourful buildings. It’s a nice place to stroll the streets, especially in the evening, with many great restaurant options. I could have stayed longer. There are plenty of things to do like go on a boat tour, or climb la piedra. Walk throughout the streets and shop or chat with the friendly locals. Or just relax with a coffee and a treat at the many cafe’s, or a beer at one of the pubs. If you are not in a rush to cram everything into a day, I’d recommend staying at least a night.

What a colorful town.
What a colorful town. I read so many people do just a day trip but I’m so glad we spent the night. I wish we would’ve spent 2 nights. You have to climb the piedra but also give yourself enough time in the town itself. We did a boat ride but I wish we would’ve had more time to do other water activities as it’s just so pretty.

Gutape is cool, not polluted and so safe that people leave doors open. I wasn't given a pavilion key and the door could easily be opened if the nearby window was open. There are two main towns, El Penol and Guatape. El Penol is larger and more everyday paced; Guatape has restaurants by the dozens to cater to the tourists from Medellin, Colombia, and, increasingly, from another continent. The altitude is such that it is between 62 and 78 F. year round; however, global warming seems to have raised the maximal temperature to 80F. or a bit more. The "lake" is beautiful, steep promontories along a winding "coastline", dotted with secondary homes of wealthy Colombians for the most part. Last notice is that the place is above 1800 meters and I had altitude sickness, which would have dissipated over a few days. The only tourist landmark is a giant black rock that Colombians seem to find attractive and they can climb to the top. I found it a dark, mass that ruined the overall scenery. To each his own.

Busy but charming town. Lovely waterfront.
Busy but charming town. Lovely waterfront. Makes every effort to entice you to buy beautiful things you don’t need. These are well-made crafts. Charming houses. A bit noisy with most cafes playing loud music, although I found one playing delightful piano jazz and I lingered there. A few hours in town was enough for me, though, and I was glad I stayed a few km away.
just a 20 minute walk away from the busy town, in the beautiful backcountry of guatapé lies this gem of a backpacker hostel. if you search for a chill, easygoing place with good music, nice vibes, bonfires and down to earth, kind-hearted people, you will find it here. you can slackline, play guitar, play oldschool video games, hang out in the large area around the house, buy handcrafted things and chocolate, be creative in lots of ways, go for short but adventurous hikes, and have a good time all around. great diy/all together spirit.
If you are exploring Colombia, the town of Guatape should be on your list. This property was directly below the famous landmark El Penon de Guatape and the restaurant on site provided amazing scenic views while you eat the included breakfast (which was great). The room was very nice and met expectations. Of particular note was the staff was extremely friendly and responsive. Our itinerary had us arriving after midnight and they made every accommodation to allow us to check in without any issue. Tremendous value; highly recommended.
Your choice of staying in Guatape.
This place has an amazing view, gigantic rooms, awesome (hot) jacuzzi and one of the best service providers I've ever encountered in a hotel. The stuff is friendly, funny and will always take care of your most bizarre requests.
Our room had a minor noise from the fire alarm and the stuff immediately changed it.
The food in the hotel worth at least two Michelin stars, especially the pizza.
We arrived to realized that the water from
El Penol had been cut off, so they didn’t have any access to water activities. We immediately request a refund for our money, after some discussion they agreed to refund one night, that was back in March. After almost 2 months they never gave us the refund. They totally stole
The money from us.
We ended up going to a different hotel in the area where we had an amazing time.
The water view from the cabin is spectacular. The location is great, close to "Piedra del Penol" and the towns of Guatape and El Penol.
The hotel offers water activities (with a fee) that were enjoyed by some members of our family and there is an area we could relax while waiting for the adventurous.
The beds were comfortable, and the linen was in good condition.
The attitude of the staff was always great!!
This is an excellent place for recovering and relax. Rooms are spacious with big windows and nice jacuzzi. And the main point is the cuisine. The cocking lady makes the best food in Guatape - super tasty and healthy. The area of the hotel is super safe, green and calm. Higly recommended!
We loved the location! They were very accommodating, even with last minute changes with more family coming. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and they had excellent service! It’s a must stay if you’re coming to Guatape! Breakfast was delicious with a beautiful presentation.
The hotel is beautiful and very close to the center of Guatape, staff is friendly and brings you to your room. They allow you to store your luggage (for free) in case you wanna go out without your luggage, which I highly appreciate. Views are beautiful from the rooms.
One of the best apartments I was staying at during my 4 months in Latin America. Really good cost-benefit-ratio, you have your own apartment for not much money and Guatapé is beautiful! I personally really liked the view of the football pitch from that apartment.
The hotel is very simple, but nice. I stayed in a room with a window only to the corridor, but it was OK. In exchange, the hostel has a nice terrace, where you can chill or have your meals.
The staff is very helpful and nice.
We loved the location. We could easily walk to La Piedra and even walked into Guatape. It was quiet. The host was exceptional at answering questions and assisting us, especially with transportation.
The staff here are exceptional and so lovely! They took such great care of me and my friend. The hotel is just a simple, unfussy place to stay, but it is quiet, squeaky clean and comfortable.
the best hotel we have stayed in Colombia. staff are fantastic and there to help, rooms are very nice and clean, views are amazing! we suggest a boat ride from the hotel to Guatapé.
Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had some special requests and they were great
Room was clean and spacious. We had great views. Every view from this hotel is amazing.
The hotel has a natural surrounding and is ok, they have some social areas and a jetty with kayaks, however they need to work on the food and service quality. Wifi was good!
