This is a nice hotel in the center of the old town. Everything looks nice inside, although it is clear that the renovation took place a long time ago, but the overall appearance is still good. The beds are quite comfortable. Breakfast is ok. The convenient location makes the hotel even more attractive. Located on the main road, no need to climb any steps. The staff doesn't speak English. But at the same time, they are very nice and try very hard to help, and through Google translator we manage to come to an agreement. Fortunately, in the morning a young man came to work at the reception who understood English. He helped me call a taxi and was generally very friendly.

The owner was extremely helpful, and remained in constant contact when I had a very delayed border crossing from Iraqi Kurdistan and I ended up arriving in the early hours of the morning. This set the tone for the rest of my stay - very attentive and helpful, and I ended up extending my stay and my room was upgraded for no extra cost. He also spoke excellent English (as well as various other languages). The hotel is in an excellent central location in the absolutely beautiful and historic town of Mardin.

A beautiful town, completely different from the Turkiye...
A beautiful town, completely different from the Turkiye known by those who visit the coast. Kurdish, not Turkish, with Christian buildings going back to the fourth century and a culture that encompasses many religions and languages. A good base for a day trip (with guide) to Midyat and other local sites. Plenty of restaurants, serving wide variety of foods. Wine shops, selling local wines, but no bars in the old town.
Really wish we had read more before going. Pictures show the beautiful pale-coloured buildings climbing up the hillside but not the fact that the 'roads' are more often steps. Wonderful small narrow streets, a copper bazaar where people were at work, incredible churches, mosques and madrasas - but you need to have good hips and knees!
An excellent Hamam, open for men mornings and evenings, for women in the afternoons.
For anyone interested in early Christianity, in cultural melting pots, or in somewhere unlike most tourist towns, Mardin and Midyat, and the necropolis at Dara, the area is exceptional. Allow about four days and bring sensible shoes.
Good and cheap bus service from the airport, no need to use taxis.

This was the second time to visit Mardin, this time during a small road trip. Mardin is a place were you don not see Western people. Please do not mention it, otherwise it will ruined as other old citys. Atmosfere specicial on the market is like 200years old. Views are amazing, and most important the people.

Mardin old town is a remarkable destination - fabulous architecture, great shopping, many wonderful restaurants, and world renown historic sites nearby. We stayed at Fairouz Konak Otel, which we would highly recommend - it is a historic building in the heart of Mardin old town, within easy walking distance of many restaurants and stores, We were welcomed by our thoughtful host with delicious offerings of food and drink; he was able to answer all our questions about his city. The hotel was memorable for its charming rooms, fantastic panoramic views from many terraces, delicious breakfasts, and excellent host and staff, We highly recommend a visit to Mardin and a stay at Fairouz Konak Otel!

Mardin is one good medium city not very bussy for turists. There is one old and interesting city with a lot of loveley mosque, houses and narrow street, very different for others places from Europe. I used this location for travell to Dara and Husankyf on Tigris river.

Mardin is beautiful and ancient and wonderful.
Mardin is beautiful and ancient and wonderful. Everyone was so friendly - I never encountered even one person who wasn't kind and gracious.
I think the only down side to Mardin is all of the litter. Although I saw several workers cleaning, it seems the people of Mardin don't understand the impact of throwing you trash out the window, which I saw a lot of.
Nonetheless, I loved Mardin. The history, the people, the general feel... wonderful! I will return!

Mardin is a very interesting city in the East of Turkey.
Mardin is a very interesting city in the East of Turkey. There are a lot of places to visit for a person who loves history, culture and tasty food. People who live there are different: Turks, Kurds, Syriacs. The city is quite friendly and calm. There are a lot of must-visit places in the city center. It is also interesting to visit the close cities, like Midyat, Sanliurfa, Gobekli Tepe.
But I advice not to go in winter. This time it had started to snow right before the flight. So it was cancelled, the airport was closed for 2 days, as it was no ready for the weather somehow.
We totally enjoyed our stay in this beautiful old konak located in the old city of Mardin. Don't miss out on the breakfasts that can be enjoyed at the rooftop overlooking the Mesopotamian hinterland.
Thank you to the staff (Idris, Emin, Zahit and Ferhat) and to Tahir who picked us up from the airport and accommodated us in so many ways during 2 day trips with him (one to Gobekli Tepe close to Sanliurfa and the other to Midyat and many interesting places around Mardin).
The staff were very friendly and always looking to help. I should note as an American English speaker that most of the hotel staff spoke little or no English. We used Google Translate almost exclusively. This is not a problem for me and I don't consider it a negative in any way but other non-Turkish speakers should be aware of this if you are not comfortable with that.
Very beautiful hotel with wonderful rooms and location including the terrace with a magnificent view. Own parking spot and staff that will help you with anything. The rooms are spacious and in 2 types: beautiful historical look (stone house) and modern look. The main street of historical Mardin and the historical sites are on walking distance.
Extremely lovely breakfast, amazing views, comfortable bed with hot water and picture perfect hotel that is beautiful! Would heartily recommend! The staff (Burcu, Pinar, and Ömer) were extremely helpful and Ömer made sure everything we could ever need was taken care of. Perfect location and exceeded our expectations!
The hotel is located right in the centre of Mardin old town in a lovely historic building. Rooms are comfortable albeit a little tired in places. The manager and the bell boy are very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet was extensive and served on a roof terrace with great views.
Super nice hotel, in the houses of Mardin. The room was clean and the beds comfortable, rich breakfast and a great view from the terrace.
Super kind staff and they helped us for trips in the surrounding areas.
I highly recommend it!
Her șey için çok teșekkür ederiz 🤗
Well located hotel, beautiful authentic Mardin building with wonderful views. Very friendly and helpful staff. Elaborate and high quality breakfast. If I ever return to Mardin I will definitely stay here again. Thank you Tarık bey & team!
The staff were absolutely fantastic at the hotel, very attentive to all our needs from where to visit nearby to helping us out with our onward connection in Turkey. It is a really charming hotel with a great restaurant onsite, too!
What a spectacular hotel! Beautiful beyond words. Also comfortable and a very friendly staff. We meet the owner and he welcomed us with the hospitality common to that beautiful region of Turkey. I definitely plan to go back!
The architecture of the hotel, the old stones, the exclusivity of the view from the terrace on the plain. The service - the right proportion between helpfulness and discretion . The breakfast absolutely great
Lovely staff that tends to your every need. The hotel is situated in the old city and really close to the nearby attractions. If you're coming by car leave it in the garage, the streets are really narrow.
The Hotel is a very unique one, very nice unusual decoration with a mix of european old style and arab style.
The hotel has amazing views and is very close to the old town main city
Hotel is kind of hidden heaven.
The staff and manager were very attentive especially Kubilay and Derya. And the rest of team Fırat and azad was so friendly. Highly recommended!
Ridvan and his family were very gracious and helpful hosts. Their house has the old Mardin charm and is in a decent location close to all the main areas
