Urgup was what I expected.
Urgup was what I expected. I was deciding between Gerome and Urgup, and from the reviews chose Urgup because it was less crowded and more quiet. There were less or no fairy chimneys around though, and it looked farthest from Nevsehir airport. Apart from these, Urgup gives you the traditional Cappadocia village life.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

As elsewhere in Cappadocia, the centre of Ürgüp is full of lovely old stone houses clustered around a central rock formation, in this case Temenni Tepesi (Temenni Hill, Wish Hill). It makes a good base for visiting all the main attractions of Cappadocia, including the rock-cut churches and the underground cities. A friendly town with plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops. It felt safe to walk around at night, the shops remaining open until 10pm which is helpful if on excursions all day. It's a quieter town and by that i mean it's very different...
It's a quieter town and by that i mean it's very different from Goreme. If you want quiet - come here. We did have a car which was absolutely a must and when we wanted to go to Goreme, we took cabs. Urgup was a nice smaller town that was cheaper than Goreme. We still had access to activities and most companies still picked us up at our hotel for the activities. The food was less expensive than Goreme. We walked the alleys and side streets and enjoyed seeing the architecture.

Small town with beautiful views. It doesn't feel as "Vegas" as the other towns, a calmer and more local feel. Restaurants, markets, travel agencies to arrange tours, and souvenirs. Very close to all the sites.tamirblank

He recommended us to an amazing private guide (Suat) who shared with us his passion for the region and provided us with a lot of historical details. The breakfast is served with typical fresh local food (ex: yummy cherry marmalade, borek, homemade yogurt, olives,...). There is a terrace with a wonderful view on the ürgüp city. If you manage to wake up around 7.30 am, you ll be able to see some hot air balloon.ImèneBelgium

Also the shower was quite nice and warm. The location is pretty close to the city urgup. You can go eat or visit the city for 10minutes of walking. The last but not least, the breakfast was amazing. I am Turkish, and I would call the breakfast there a wonderful example for our culture. 10/10 would stay there again. We were welcomed with tea and desserts, you can find gourmet snack and nuts in the room , and they also served breakfast to the room before our balloon trip. The hotel arranged the ballon trip and the VIP red line tour for us, everything was smooth and memorable. Also the signature "blood" swimming pool is a must-try, in all we really enjoyed the stay.

Very helpful staff who let us leave bags and arranged good value tour at very short notice (after it had already started and we realised we wouldn’t have time the following day for green tour which finishes late). But the most important thing is hospitality of Hakan and Fatih who are ready to help with any question even far away from the hotel at any time. This place became our home in Cappadocia.
