Kokkinos Villas were exceptional. We had a Caldera view and spa pool and it was stunning. Modern, clean, beautifully decorated, large storage, large bathroom, coffee and tea, table and a fridge. The staff were very warm and welcoming, very polite and very helpful, they answered questions we had, and booked some trips for us. The breakfast was outstanding you order it before 8pm the night before and its ready, hot and fresh when you come for breakfast. You can stick with the same choices or change. Good choice of food for breakfast.
Breakfast us served in restaurant looking over the Caldera panoramic view! Stunning.
Pool was clean, and looking out on the Caldera with sunbeds. A little chilly in October but that's to be expected.
Highly recommend this hotel. If you're looking for a peaceful holiday, with a warm welcome, Kokkinos in Akrotiri is the place.
We loved it and we're very sad to leave.
More generally about Santorini
Akrotiri is a small village with about 5 restaurants, 2 supermarkets. 1 pharmacy, and a couple of gift shops. Theres two ATM.
Restaurants are lovely, varying in price and ambience, you should try them all.
Food options a limited if you were a vegan, but we had vegetarians and pescatarians in our party and we ate really well. Our favourite was Portabella Restaurant.
Visit Akrotiri ruins if you can it was walkable but you can also catch a bus.
A visit to Oia and Fira is a bus journey away, you catch the bus outside the hotel. Both are rammed with tourists getting their souvenirs and insta photos, do try and go very early and avoid days where there are many cruise ships in, because thousands of people descend on these tiny villages.
There are some lovely smaller villages to visit too, much more authentic, less crowded and pretty, Pygros and Megalochori are beautiful.
Use the bus, it's much cheaper than cabs and you just have to ask how to get to places, the bus conductor will tell you were to get off and change.
Perched on the Santorini caldera 250 metres from Akrotiri, Blu features rooms with a balcony or terrace overlooking the Santorini volcano and the Aegean Sea. It offers a pool and a snack bar.

We spent 4 nights in a family room with a stunning view and private plunge pool. The room was well appointed and very comfortable, with the children (aged 7 and 5) having their own single beds. It is not the largest family room but it is well appointed with a coffee machine, kettle, TV, lots of towels, toiletries, dressing gowns, etc and rose wine on ice and fruit for our arrival. We loved the location, having breakfast served on our terrace and the ambience by the main pool. We hired a car to explore the island and although we saw many people waiting for local buses, the hotel has free parking. The staff are excellent and super friendly.
With a tranquil location close to the beach in Akrotiri, the famiy-run Villa Iliovasilema Santorini offers a relaxing environment with views of Santorini's caldera and volcano.

The local area is good for restaurants, vineyards, activities like boat trips and horse riding. There are some interesting historical sites (castle and bronze age settlement) close by. I really wish we could have stayed for longer than a week to see more of the locality. The bus can be a bit hit and miss, but a really cheap way to access the north of the island, Fira and Oia.

Beautiful area. Wonderful restaurants in the village. Loved the Venetian castle which has coffee and food. You must visit the ancient city. The locals over all were very friendly and helpful. Please note-there are a lot of homeless animals. Be prepared for it.

Akrotiri is a small place in the southern part of the island of Santorini, from which one can see the caldera and also experience beautiful sunsets. There is a small supermarket and a clothing store as well as restaurants and an art shop there. Also important are the Akrotiri Castle and the proximity to the Red Beach and the archaeological site, which can be reached on foot. There are also horses nearby that you can ride to the beach. Megalochori, a small beautiful village nearby, can be reached by bus to Fira. An ideal place to enjoy the sun in the south and to do tours of the island from there.

This area of Santorini was just perfect for us.
This area of Santorini was just perfect for us. Memorable views, from the caldera to the sunset, Oia & Fira in the distance.
The archeological site and the Lost Atlantis museum are very close for a jump into myth and real history of the island. The best beaches for snorkling are in this southern coast, between Vlichada and the Lighthouse. Many family run restaurants, super markets and amenities are at reach. And the Horst Riding experience with a wild gallop on the eros beacj is roght there .. strongly recommended.

I liked the fact it was close to facilities which l forgot to mention before! Supermarket, restaurants, (loved Porto Bello restaurant), cafes & chemist etc! Also car hire available! All short walk away!
Enjoyed a trip to the ancient archeological site & the museum of The Lost City of Atlantis! Also Red beach & Caldera! Lovely catamaran boat cruise round island with bbq & wine although l ghoughg bit pricey.
Staff is great. There was a problem with AC in the room. They moved us right away to an other one. On checkout date our flight back was late in the evening and the staff gave us the opportunity to have a very late checkout at 8PM. for free. Room and pool very clean. lovely patio in each room. Across the road the bar-restaurant offers one of best sunsets views in Santorini. I would suggest the hotel for people with a rented car but bus stop is just in front of the hotel (both directions).
The property was absolutely gorgeous and the views were amazing! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Micheal helped make dinner reservations and transportation arrangements and truly wanted us to have an amazing visit in Santorini. The breakfast which was included in the cost of the stay was great and a perfect way to start our morning each day. The property, including the rooms, were exceptionally clean and comfortable. We will definitely come back!
Akrotiri is a small village, not crowded and it is on a beautiful part of Santorini. The apartment‘s building situated in the centre. The design of the object is impressive, modern and Greek. congratulation to the designer! The apartment is extremely well equipped, very comfortable. The breakfasts are varied and abundant. Having breakfast on the terrace with fabulous view is makes the guests the king of life. The staff is very professional and still nice.
This property really is incredible due to the hosts. They really want you to get the most out of your trip to Santorini, and are very helpful with things like booking taxis and day trips, and even holding our luggage for the day. Eva’s breakfast is wonderful, don’t miss out! The location is also great for people who actually like the beach, as it is easier to get to the beaches from here. Accommodations were also great, everything I needed!
We loved everything about the apartment. It’s amazingly designed, super clean and offers all the comfort you could ask for.
We also really liked that it’s located in Akrotiri, away from all the mass tourism in Oia. But as the island is so small, it’s easy to get there by car or scooter.
But besides that Jacob and his family were amazing and so helpful. Thank you very much!
I would highly recommend this accomodation for a trip to Santorini.
The house was very easy to reach from everywhere in Santorini. Although it's better to have a car. Buses are anyway infrequent all over the island and aren't always on time. From our balcony we could see the caldera - a wonderful view. The apartment we stayed in was tip-top clean, the staff was very kind and helpful. I would highly recommend it if one wants to stay in a peaceful locality away from crowded Fira or Oia.
Our stay was absolutely amazing! The staff was very kind and quick to respond to any requests we had. The pictures don't do justice to this beautiful place. The location is wonderful as well - very quiet and peacful, away from the crazy traffic and crowds, 2 minutes away from the oldest lighthouse in Greece, and 15 minutes from the Santorini beaches. The breakfast was outstanding as well. We will be back!
Brand new stunning hotel with breathtaking views overlooking the caldera of Santorini. We enjoyed our private jacuzzi but also the huge infinity swimming pool. The best aspect of this hotel is its location. It is situated in a peaceful place of Akrotiri, awayfrom the crowds of Fira and Oia. Elizabeth and the rest of the staff were always with a smile ready to ensure to make our holidays perfect
Pretty much everything about the place is exceptional! The view is spectacular, the pool aswell. Staff was super nice and friendly. The entire hotel with the view gives that Santorini vibe which was the reason why we came for. Overall our stay at the Apameno was great, will recommend it to everyone who wants to experience the Insland in the way it's supposed to be experienced!
The view are the best of Santorini and the hotel is one of the best I ever been. The staff who attend us (particularly the woman and the man in the reception) are kind and very good people. The location is close to the port but you need any vehicle to go to some places, for me was the best location because Fira and Oia is very crowd and this is the best part of the island.
It's a nice hotel with lovely views of Caldera and breakfast was generous and delicious. It's a small hotel and managed by friendly staff. We always picked Akrotiri area to stay in Santorini as its away from the hustle and bustle of main villages of Oia and Fira. The reception manager Alexandra was very helpful and friendly.
The honeymoon suits are amazing. The staff are the best staff I ever met. Katherena was so helpful, don’t worry if you came unplanned she will guide you to the best places in santorini. Antonio is very amazing and dedicated guy. The whole experience was unforgettable.
This place is very beautiful and quiet. I was very satisfied by the staff and the amenities. It was very clean with a great pool and delicious dishes at the pool bar restaurant. One of the best choices for your accommodation in Akrotiri Santorini.
there are great views at the villas; they’re amazing. there is also beach access which is hard to find on santorini: walking distance to a beach and caldera views. the staff is so accommodating and really goes above and beyond. I loved the staff.
A very good value for money hotel at a secluded region of Santorini and faraway from the crowds.
The staff is very friendly and nice and the rooms fully equipped and well decorated.
The sea view is stunning!
Would definitely visit again...
Great place to explore Santorini from. Akrotiri is charming and bus access is easy. There are some nice restaurants on the way to Red Beach. I liked The Cave of Nikolas. The apartment was very nice done, clean and cozy. I enjoyed my stay.
Adorable location close to the beautiful beaches and nice local tavernes of Santorini. Very good service, hospitality and breakfast. Bus and boat service in front of the hotel for all destinations on the Island.
Flora was an incredible host. She treated us very well and was very kind, the same as the other workers. We had a great time and we are very grateful that we chose this hotel for our stay in Santorini.
Pretty much everything. The view, the pool(s), the staff. Southern Santorini is more remote and quiet than other parts and this embraced that, and we love that.
Fantastic location with great view and great rooms. In an otherwise overpopulated island, this hotel is a great resort for a relaxed time in Santorini.
