Zakynthos is a very pretty Island. Laganas, however, is very touristy. The hotel we stayed at was very nice, but the neighborhood wasn’t particularly pretty. It’s perfect for people how enjoy nightlife though.

Zakynthos town is not very big .
Zakynthos town is not very big .
It has a fine esplanade to have a leisurely walk and admire the landscape the boats and the fine eateries along the waterfront .
Dionysiou Solomon’s Square is excellent with its large open spaces and cosmopolitan vibe. Further along Marks Square is the highlight of the town with the abundance of world- class bars ,cafes and restaurants. A stroll along here leads to the pedestrian only road of Alexandrou Roma which is vibrant and beautifully lined with interesting shopping stores and cafes.
One could stroll and see the town in a day however there are museums and places of interest one could take the time to explore longer.
Driving can be tricky around Zakynthos town as many streets are narrow.
There are car parking facilities however .We avoid driving in Zakynthos town ,we park on the outskirts and walk to our in-town destinations .
One of our favourite bars in Zakynthos town is the ‘Base’ where one can view the beauty and vibrancy of the town from a large upstairs balcony while sipping an amazing cocktail or brew .
Bochali , up high on the hill looks over Zakynthos town and is worth a visit to admire the views over Zakynthos town and also for its own interesting offerings .
All business matters can be easily accessed from town but then a visit to Zakynthos is not complete without branching off in any directions to marvel at the plefora of pristine beaches, beach cafes and green undulating countryside.
Zakynthos is an olive grove island and very ecologically minded as you will find when you seek out the local Caretta Caretta sea turtle and the dramatic cliffs , caves and resting place of the infamous Navagio shipwreck.
We love the island of Zakynthos and hope to return again and again .

It's a nice and lovely seaside town, with big squares and nice restaurants. There is a long pedestrian street with many shops and souvenirs. It has an excellent marina and the town is big enough for long evening walks.

I would definitely recommend staying In Zakinthos main part (town). We traveled a little around but lots happening here from being able to rent a boat for the day and tour the swimming coves only accessible by boat, see caves and turtles in the national park, to the massive long strip of shops with different varieties catering for all ages. Kids, teenagers and adults with cheap and very expensive stores alike. At night, the town comes alive with trendy bars, cafes and restaurants with live music in the square or Greek music at restaurants, it really is worth the stay. We only had 2 nights and regret not staying longer

Zakynthos is a fantastic island.
Zakynthos is a fantastic island. I stayed in Laganas to party during the night. But I visited the most beautifull beaches and places during the day. Snorkeling is amazing and I could easily spent weeks on the island to explore everything.
Just google the tips because there is a lot to see and there a blogs all over to tell you where to go and how to get there.

White soft sand beaches with clear water, perfect for swimming, snorkelling and diving. Being able to see the turtles was a definite bonus. People are really nice and helpful, overall the place is a perfect beach getaway in budget. Local cuisine restaurants are everywhere; also a few Indian and Chineses options. You can easily rent a bicycle, bike, car or a quad (which we did). There's also bus, but with limited connectivity.
The apartment was great. Large, clean, very near the town centre with a cute patio area at the rear (although this was over looked by the guests dining at the neighbouring hotel). Fully equipped kitchen and the added bonus of a washing machine. Both Maria and her husband Stelious were wonderful landlords, friendly, cheerful and helpful to the end, nothing was too much trouble. They collected us from the airport and drove us back at the end of our stay. All in all, we had a truly great time in Zante.
Nice pool and surrounding area, the house was equipped with everything that was needed for a one-week comfortable stay. The host is amazing, the service is of the highest quality.
We had a ret-a-car for the whole week, practically any beach was in 30 min reach. Supermarket nearby.
Island is full of amazing tavernas (our favourite was San Leon taverna in Agios Leon - the best food, host and service in Zakynthos. Try their homemade heavenly frigania!)
Amazing hotel in Zakynthos Town, very close to the center (10 - 15 mins on foot). The employees of the hotel are super amazing (especially Didi, she has the best recommendations, you can have your best morning chats with her). If you rent a quad / car, the most distant places of the island are only 30kms from here. Overall the best in terms of price - quality, I totally recommend visiting them.
I love this place. It’s the second time I’ve visited this August. The staff are just amazing, kind, helpful and always smiling. The family that run the hotel are what makes it. It’s clean, tidy and has some of the best views in Zante. Not to mention, the amazing beach right on the doorstep. Thank you, Maria for the amazing Pina Coladas and an amazing holiday.
Everything was perfect.
The stuff from the hotel was professional and polite.
Nice and clean room. Good service. They are cleaning room every day, new towels and bed sheets every day,
Nice view from balcony.
Breakfast was excellent also.
If we visit zakynthos again, we will definitely come back here.
The staff was exceptional, friendly and always very nice, meeting all our requests, both at reception and restaurant. The rooms were cozy and very clean, the meals at dinner were better than at most restaurants and tavernas we have been eating at all week long. Briefly put, a great hotel!
Our room was a great size with sofa, lovely balcony , and they gave us some complimentary wine and soft drinks. It was located right on the beach. Really recommend this lovely hotel if you want to stay away from the main strip of Laganas for a quieter sleep, the staff were lovely too!
Everything! The location is great and the house is beautiful. The owners are very kind en helpful. The house was cleaned twice, has airconditioning and is in walking distance from the centre of Zakynthos town. We enjoyed our stay at Villa Galanoussa and recommend it highly!
the hotel Mimics it’s own small village where you will be met by antiques in the lobby. the staff is personable welcoming and the epitome of the Greek word philoxenia. the food was mostly farm to table and the ambience was beautiful as was the pool and surrounding areas.
Breakfast had a good variety and the staff was very attentive, they already knew our order and prepared it in no time
Location - there is no more central spot than the Yria hotel
Access to the sea - just across the road and great option for a quick dive
Location on walking distance from Zakynthos town and harbor , close to gas station and local supermarket ,nice panoramic view from balcony , very nice and helpful landlady , very well kept property...
Our room was excellent, very clean and a great size. The hotel is located perfectly in the centre of Zakynthos Town & the staff were also very kind and friendly.
