Amazing and modern city. One of the two real cities in Bulgaria (Burgas and Plovdiv). Plovdiv is must to visit in your live, as much as Athens, but is much more beautifull and full with atractions, concerts and art activities, with nice places to go and amazing coffees and restaurants.

Plovdiv has so much to offer, great bars and restaurants and of course it is stepped in history for thousands of years. The town has a fantastic atmosphere and it’s it so easy to move around as such a small city, you can easily be having lunch in old town and then taking coffe in a fashionable shop. Having breakfast in an amphitheater was just amazing. The Roman history is stunning as is the more recent…. Makes Sofia look dull

Interesting to see the Old Town and new town of Plovdiv. Definitely need to make use of a walking tour to hear about the history etc especially the Ancient Stadium of Philipopolis which runs under the H & M store! We used Plovdiv Trips for two tours out of the City which was well worth it. Karmen and Stoyan were both excellent and knowledgeable guides. Plenty of good eating places and friendly

Plovdiv is a city of contrasts, spanning many centuries. You can't help but stumble across history wherever you go. The centre is largely pedestrianised, making it easy to walk around, with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants, as well as shops. Highly recommend the the Free Plovdiv walking tour which starts every day at 11am from outside the town hall in the centre. Very informative and takes you to all the key locations, giving you a great starting point from which to explore further. I travelled in November so there were few guests. Th hotel is located in the center of the old town, which is by car only accessible for people who live there and hotel guests. The roads in the old town are made of square rocks which makes it difficult to walk on for elderly people and impossible for a person with a disability. The hotel has a small parking garage and place there must be booked in advance. Very friendly service and a good breakfast.HansNetherlands

The apartment has a kitchen and a fridge so you can cook your own meals, though i recommend to buy exquisite and inexpensive homemade Bulgarian food in the corner (walk left). The whole hotel is decorated keeping the old Bulgarian motives and gives you a nice view in to the history times.
