FAQs about hotels in Budapest

A City of Two Halves

With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.

Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it offers the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.

Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try this than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.

To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur, while based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.

With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels on offer in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes your choice completely easy.

Prior to my visit, I was under the impression that Budapest could be fully explored over a single weekend. However, I quickly realized how mistaken I was; the city has far more to offer than could ever be squeezed into just a couple of days. The soul of Budapest is vividly apparent in its vibrant streets, historic buildings, and the warm, welcoming nature of its people. From the stunning vistas at Fisherman's Bastion to the tranquil waters of the Danube dividing Buda and Pest, the city's scenic beauty is unparalleled. Budapest is not just a feast for the eyes, but also a hub for cultural activity, boasting an array of museums, theaters, and galleries. It is a city that promises safety and a welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure. In conclusion, Budapest is much more than a weekend getaway; it is a city with a soul and an array of experiences waiting to be discovered. Whether you are a history buff, a lover of arts, or simply in search of a pleasant and safe European escape, Budapest will not disappoint.

Beautiful city with alot of beautiful buildings, statues, fountains, bridges and memorials. We stayed 4 nights and got to see and do alot. The Szechenyi Baths were great. The Parliament Building tour was wonderful. The interior is as beautiful and impressive as the outside of the building. Easy enough city to navigate with the Danube and the different bridges as location markers.

We stayed in Budapest just for the couple of days, but we were amazed by its beauty. Ensana Grand Margaret Island Hotel is beautiful. We were welcomed by the amazing staff at the reception. They were helpful and very professional. They all speak English, so it was easy for us to communicate. Our room was spacious, the furniture was amazing, our bed was very comfortable. We could see the Danube river from our window. Breakfast in the beautiful restaurant offered the variety of different types of salami , ham, fish, cheeses, breads , pastries, fruits, juices and much more. Spa and wellness facilities are part of the deal. After a very long flight from Australia, it was a very special gift for us , helping us to recover faster . We are coming back to this hotel very soon. Public transport from Margaret Island take you to the city. You can walk around the city of Budapest or book some tours . Dining options are huge. Our next trip to Budapest will be much longer , to give us an opportunity to explore this special place much more.

I liked the breakfast, simple but with variety of salty and sweet options. I liked the room and the hall. The best part was the location. Near the metro and Liszt museum ,great connection with the airport bus(no need to change line), close to the park and some of the baths, close to hidden but maybe even better restaurants, better overall than staying in front of the central road with the traffic. Great staff. Better internet connection that some other hotels in Budapest. Surprisingly I loved the fact that they gave me an actual key! :)

What positive surprise! I expected a cheap worn-out hotel, yet this is very new and clean, with an excellent price/performace ratio. The whole facility is either new or freshly refurbished. The room felt nice and the bathroom was quite fancy and stylish for this price range. A very good base for exploring budapest, the subway is just across the street. I was grateful for big free parking just in front of the hotel, so I didnt have to worry about someone stealing expensive mantoys from my car.

The location was probably the best part: it's right in the center of Budapest, close to the best rated restaurants on TripAdvisor, the Danube, and other beautiful tourist attractions. A private parking is just 2 minutes away, which is very important, since parking spots are a bummer to find in that city. The owner was really nice, the information provided was useful and the apartment was clean. A reasonable price and the perfect conditions for a quick stop.

Parking in Budapest might be a bit tricky and expensive, and so I choose this hotel because I was looking for a place where I can safely leave my car over the night and still easily reach the city centre. The hotel has a surprisingly big parking lot behind the building, which was great. And the underground was in 5min walk, so the location was also perfect for us. The staff was really kind, and the room was very quiet and cozy, good value for money.

Located 10 minutes walking to center, perfectly clean (thank you Ms Anna) & friendly staff (thank you Ms Petra). Comfortable bed, enough space in room/bathroom. Good places for coffee or dinner around the hotel, if going to other side (Buda castle) taxi is around 8€. Garage parking included. Modern style design. I would say in Budapest it is the best value for money hotel and with few amenities like jacuzzi it could easly be a 5* hotel :)
