Johanna and the rest of the staff were so welcoming and friendly, they did everything they could to ensure you have a comfortable stay.
The included breakfast was very very good - guests are given a menu to choose from each morning.
Rooms are clean and tidy. The gardens and surrounds give the place a really relaxed vibe and make it a great place to work remotely from.
WIFI is good, showers are hot, 3 minute walk to the beach.
Overall great value for money. Not much more you could ask for.

Ayampe is a quiet and extremely safe location. It is next to the Colibri trail which is one of the best birdwatching locations in Ecuador. Ayampe is a beautiful little coastal town with an amazing beach and really good surf break. There are a number of lovely cafes and a great surfboard hire business, Otra. The locals are really friendly and it’s a perfect place to escape for a week or two to chill out and enjoy the simple things in life. There is plenty to do around the region including exploring the local fishing towns, visit Machalilla National Park, Los Frailes beach is really lovely and beautiful clear blue water. In Purto Lopez there is the most amazing artisanal chocolate shop, Pacha Chocolate Boutique. Veronica Alvarez does an amazing job making exceptional chocolate, Alfajores and brownies. It’s a must go to for anyone who likes chocolate.

The common kitchen was excellent, and we used it several times to prepare meals. The provided breakfast was very enjoyable as well! Franziska, the owner, and her staff were all amazing and extremely helpful. The coastline in Ayampe was fantastic and fun to explore, although, we picked a cold and wet time of the year to visit and we’re attacked by mosquitos while out in the evenings. that being said, Ganso & Buho was a great retreat and we definitely felt at home.

It is located at a beautiful beach which is not very touristy. Ayampe also is the perfect location if you are looking for something relaxed. The hotel with Anabel and Franziska is so great. They were so friendly and helped us organize some stuff (travel, surfing lessions etc). We felt very welcome and would definitly recommend it to everyone. The rooms are pretty and very clean. So really all in all perfect! Thank you two so much!

The on-premises restaurant is fairly good, and the option to have food brought up to the second floor balcony was the perfect way to enjoy your meals. Great wifi, very fast! The owner also arranged a tour for us to La Plata Island, which was very nice. A beach (super clean) is only a block away from the property. Great tide pools there too!!!
