This is a hotel located just across the street from the beach and it is very affordable! It has a retro charm - it's clean, quiet, and everything was comfortable. You can walk to restaurants and there is a heated pool! It doesn't have all the latest updates or a bunch of frills - but it is more than comfortable. Fans are included in each room and the rooms are very clean and comfortable.

We loved the old mission and spend a lot of time in the hotel.
I didn‘t like the pier. Everywhere were cars and parking lots instead of nice sitting opportunities. there were a lot of homeless people, too.

Santa Barbara was absolutely beautiful!!!
Santa Barbara was absolutely beautiful!!! It was really lush and green there! The wildflowers were blooming everywhere! The mountains and hills were super lush and green and very beautiful! The Botanical Gardens are incredible and are filled with poppies and wildflowers! The Mission, Courthouse, State Street, Stearns Wharf, and Alice Peck Park are all amazing places to visit! The weather was a perfect 73 degrees for most of my trip, until the last day. The people were all very nice and pleasant to deal with. Brophy's, at the Harbor has the best fish and chips that I have ever had!! There were some whales right off of the Harbor that I was privileged to see! There was also an awesome feeding frenzy that brought in hundreds of pelicans and cormorants to dive into the water at the same time!! It was phenomenal to watch. People who have lived in Santa Barbara all of their lives have never seen anything like it!!! It was an absolutely amazing trip!

We visited in February when unknown to us was the film festival, the weather was perfect, town seemed quiet even with film festival which was a bonus, still able to grab tickets. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, lots with outdoor eating with patio heaters. We enjoyed the SB Whale watching trip we did, small exclusive boat made us feel VIPs and saw plenty of humpback whales. Easy to walk around the town, but also easy to drive and explore neighbouring Montecito

For seafood, Lure is amazing!!! Chad's and Cajun Kitchen are great breakfast spots.
If you are there on Sunday, see the Art/Craft Market at the Beach. Lots of amazing stuff and all the vendors are so friendly.
Also, a huge recommendation to Olive Hill Farms in Los Olivos. Great place for oils and vinegars.

Loved the beautiful landscaping and architecture everywhere.
Loved the beautiful landscaping and architecture everywhere. Clean city and easy to navigate while driving but MapQuest misguided me numerous times. Excellent ethnic food restaurants. Lots of choices. I’m recommending “Meet Up” Chinese, “Your Place” Thai and “Masala Spice” Indian foods. Meet Up was first place I’ve ever been served by a robot!!!! Very cool!
My wife and I had a great 2 night stay here in Nov 22. The hotel is in a very central location right in the middle of State Street, the pedestrianized main street in downtown Santa Barbara. It is surrounded by all the downtown shops, bars and restaurants and a short walk to the Funk Zone, West beach and Stearns Wharf and pier. Although it is very central, it was not noisy. The main hotel entrance is impressive, and our room was large, well equipped and very clean. There is also car parking, which is ideal.
The Secret Garden Inn is truly a delight. Our charming, antique-furnished cottage was beautiful and exceptionally comfortable. The proprietress was extremely kind and warm upon our arrival; we just regret we could not partake of her home-baked croissants at breakfast the following day. The Secret Garden is very well situated in an old section of Santa Barbara between the downtown area and the Mission Church. Secure, off-the-street parking is a plus.
Harborview is my go to hotel in Santa Barbara. It is always welcoming, clean, orderly, and in one of the best locations possible...right at the foot of State Street and across from the Ocean. It does not get any better! The rooms are large and laid out nicely with balconies or patios. The ocean view rooms on the street are nice but the ocean view rooms overlooking the lovely grounds and pool are the BEST.
The room was large. The bed and especially the pillows were first class. Would have been 10/10 but I just didn't like the bathroom (it was large and useful, but felt bleak and cold).
The hotel restaurant is fantastic. No need to venture out when staying at the Lemon Tree Inn. Two nights there, two fantastic meals. I recommend the Calamari especially, the best I have ever tasted.
Ok, this place is a gem!!! Love so many big items but the small ones matter almost most. Fixtures at sink and shower are amazing, best toilet paper Ive ever experienced at a hotel, American flag out the office everyday. Yes across the street by the beach, yes, big rooms and lovely, yes ease for delivery of food or going to downtown via uber or car…. Place is awesome hands down!
The location was perfect for our purposes in Santa Barbara. Quick and easy walk to State Street. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Nice courtyard area for guests to sit and relax. Room was clean and very quiet. The hotel provided a basket of individually wrapped scones, cookies, oatmeal and toiletries plus a bottle of wine from Santa Barbara Winery at check in.
Lowest priced hotel I could find in Santa Barbara that got good ratings. it was very clean, beds were comfortable and pillows were fluffy. Bathroom sink was outside the toilet/tub area so one of us could use the sink while the other showered. Staff was friendly and the night desk man helped me find a parking space when we got back at midnight.
I love staying on Bath Street in Santa Barbara!! Close to the beach and super quiet. This was a quintasential Santa Barbara Hotel. Super clean, all white it felt brand new inside. The bed was very comfy. We walked to a wonderful dinner on the wharf. The staff was super friend and gave us a tip for breakfast on the beach that was fabulous.
The hotel is very comfortable, it's a little dated though good value compared to other hotels in the area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and clean, the kitchen is a bonus, they also provided a complimentary bottle of champagne! 10 mins walk to the beach and 15 from downtown restaurants.
The location right across the street from the Santa Barbara Harbor was awesome and allowed easy access to everything in the area and downtown. Our room was spacious with nice furnishings & fixtures, and had a very comfy king bed. Liked the hugh walk-in shower, separate water closet, and full closet too.
Location: The Hotel is near the beach but has no beach view. Great location to have an evening walk and dinner at a restaurant on a beach.
Room: Is very clean. It was a very pleasant experience.
Parking: First come - first serve, but we didn't have any issues on that day.
We loved staying at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room size was generous and the bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was bit dated but in a good way and felt very clean. Would absolutely stay here again when visiting Santa Barbara.
Location was great. Very convenient to everything Santa Barbara has to offer. Very walkable.
Rooms were large, comfortable and clean. Hotel lobby and breakfast area bright and cheerful.
Unfortunately temperatures were not warm enough to enjoy the pool.
Historic hotel in downtown Santa Barbara, good location, fantastic ambiance. I came early and dropped my luggage off and they texted me when my room was ready. The front desk staff was friendly and super competent. I really enjoyed my stay here.
loved the Californian - honestly came from Santa Monica to Santa Barbara it was like a breath of fresh air !! chalk and cheese - anyway great hotel - good food nearby - great everything ! will come again !
The cozy hotel is located in a convenient location near the beach, but a little further from the center. After 11 pm they lock the door to the building, so it's safe. The staff are friendly and pleasant.
Hotel just a 2 minute walk to the beach.
Room was smallish but comfortable and loved the retro touches.
Was only here for a night and definitely wish we had planned for longer in Santa Barbara
it was fine, but way too overpriced
we stayed in lots of hotels with similar arrangements which charged a 100 dollars less… I guess Santa Barbara is on holy ground or something…
