Hotel itself was very nice but people should have been told that staff was running late so they didn't know what time that breakfast would be ready. People were waiting 15+ minutes before someone said something. I'm thinking what if wanted to catch a bite before they headed out for an appointment. That 15 minutes could have caused them to be late. At least post a sign as soon as you know something so people can make other plans. NOBODY wants to be left wondering. It's understandable when things beyond someones control happen but it's not acceptable when you have control over a situation and you don't communicate.... a simple sign would work.

We traveled in peak season yet there was still not a lot of people there. I was surprised they started charging for parking. $10 for a Sunday morning for 1 hour seemed a bit steep. Also, even though several shops said they were open at 10am on Sunday, several were still closed...even until we left at noon. It's a cute town and def a one day trip!

Helen was beautiful and quaint.
Helen was beautiful and quaint. A little too touristy but I guess the atmosphere is the main draw. Enjoyed the natural areas around Helen the most. So peaceful and quiet. Everything is so green... something appreciated by someone visiting from Florida. Staying at Vahalla Resort was perfect. The Resort was beautiful, and the staff were extremely accommodating. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quality experience. The food at the resort was so good we hardly had to venture anywhere else for dining.

Friendly comfortable relaxing but a little pricey. . For sure a place to reconnect or rejuvenate your relationship, it's clear you're mind. Ghost shops were kinda the same but overall I really hated to leave.

I loved Helen. This as our first trip.
I loved Helen. This as our first trip. I did not realize the amount of shops closed during the off season (end of January) However, We still had a really good time. Loved how quaint. ALL of the people were friendly. My favorites on this trip was Heidelberg, Hancel and Gretel candy. And then we topped the evening off over at Bettys across the street on the patio with some really , really tasty beer. The people and the bar tenders were so friendly. It seemed like we were all friends for a long time.

Don’t come to Helen when it is raining.
Don’t come to Helen when it is raining. And, there is not much going on in January other than the Christmas decorations are still up. There are some nice restaurants but they are all pretty expensive (over $40 for two sandwiches at lunch). All the shops downtown are way over priced, as I have seen better quality in some junk stores. We didn’t buy anything - just window shopped. The little park on the hill is nice and there is some free parking there. Almost all other parking is paid, traffic is awful and cops are everywhere anxious to issue tickets.

Helen is a quint German themed town with interesting shops and eateries. You can park and walk around to most of the stores. Some of the stores further away from the town centre are too far to walk, but there is plenty to keep you busy for at least day. A river runs through town which offers tubing and other facilities in summer. We visited over the Christmas weekend Dec2023 and the lights on display were beautiful and magical. We returned for this reason. On the town square musicians were playing Christmas music and other themed entertainment were provided. The town and restaurants closed by 6pm on Christmas eve, which was unexpected but it added to that wonderful feeling that Christmas was sacred. So be aware that only one or two restaurants were open late for dinner. We attended the Christmas Eve Communion Service at the Helen Presbyterian Church. This was special. It was a rainy evening but the lights all over town were magical and being so quiet it gave enough time to look at the lights a few times. Overall Helen is worth a visit for a weekend. Do not miss the Christmas lights.
I truly appreciated the customer service. The management is kind and eager to make your stay a pleasant one. The original I booked was smaller than I anticipated and the management without question placed me in a room that was very spacious and went over the top to make sure my daughter & I were satisfied. The exceeded my expectations my by far. Thank you!

Cute little hotel in the best possible location. Takes about 5 minutes to walk to downtown from there. The staff was friendly and the cleaning ladies were super kind and got us extra towels when we asked. The TV service was nice too. You have access to Hulu, Netflix, etc. Overall it's a perfect hotel if you're visiting Helen. I highly recommend it.
This hotel is right on the river, it was absolutely beautiful! The hotel is located right near the heart of the downtown area of Helen…definitely within walking distance of everything…this is a big plus being that it’s $10 to park anywhere else.
The room was clean and cozy, the staff was welcoming and kind. All and all it was a great stay.
The Location was perfect, we park the truck and walked everywhere in Helen, GA. The staff made you feel welcomed and made sure we had everything we needed while there. They had a fire pit they lighted every night and most of the guest would join to sit around the fire. It was one of the best experiences I have had at a hotel ever.
The only thing I can say good about the hotel is the location. But actually, any hotel you go in Helen would be a perfect location since everything is within a walking distance.
The girl that helped us in the evening shift on 5/8/2022 after we complaint about the room being dirty was very kind.
Location, close to restaurants and shops. Best location in Helen. Although far away from activities like tubing.
Staff was very attentive.
Breakfast was ok, nothing extraordinary but in level with more expensive hotels like a Hilton we went later.
A simple inn but the room seemed renovated and nice.
the staff were lovely and happy to help.
Nice location in helen and not in a busy out loud part of town. A cute grab and go breakfast nook with coffee and a few nice options.
the staff was very accommodating and pleasant, Breakfast was very satisfactory hats off to the chef. Walkable distance to everything in Helen, and enjoyed the private hot tub in our room hard to find in ordinary hotels.
the riverfront room was quiet, next to a soothing river. Bed was comfortable. Fridge , microwave & TV were great! we could walk to the festival downtown & a fine German restaurant was right next door
Amazing location downtown, far enough to avoid the noise, close enough to walk all of Helen. Cute and quiant from the outside, freshly renovated and comfortable on the inside. Couldn't ask for more.
Spacious comfortable lodge with home from home comforts. Perfect for a stay with kids as 2nd bedroom had 2 single beds rather than a double Although not enough hot water to use the jacuzzi bath.
