Breakfast was what I expected from a holiday inn. It is consistent. I didn’t like to creepy walk to the pool next door. We used the restaurant over at the crown plaza but never made it to the pool.

The parking lot was dark with only three other cars in the lot when we arrived. I wasn’t certain if they were open for business until I found the front door unlocked. The clerk greeted me and reassigned our room at my request. They had NOT received my e-mail, through Booking, to change our room from handicap to a King room. I had booked the wrong room by mistake. Although we found the room clean and in order, there was a “spooky” feel to the mostly empty building. We didn’t see or hear anyone else that evening or in the morning at breakfast, check-out. The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was 6:30-8:30!

Great city to explore the Land of Lincoln along historic Route 66.
Grab a map and explore what led Abraham Lincoln to the presidency during a time of unrest that led to the Civil War and ultimately his untimely death due to assignation.
Recommended places to visit include the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, the Old State Capital and the Lincoln Tomb. There are so many monuments and landmarks, including his law office, to explore in historic downtown Springfield.
Visit the Illinois State Capitol. Tours are free. Make a reservation to the Dana-Thomas House. It contains the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright glass and furniture in one of his designs. It was his first blank check commission.
Pay your last respect to Lincoln as well as those who served in the military at the Oak Ridge Cemetery. The Lincoln Family tomb is a stunning tribute. The Illinois War Memorials honor those who served and lost their lives in WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

HUGE BATHROOM!~
HUGE BATHROOM!~
VERY Clean and super awesome that they have a room available an hour before I was driving into town! Breakfast was pretty nice! Loved the bathroom so much that i took a night time and a morning time shower! It was really nice to be able to walk right over to a couple places to eat and walk to Walmart. If you are worried about security, they have plenty of it! I would stay here in a hot minute again!

Springfield has some magnificent buildings: the State Capital Building was impressive inside and out, really worth a visit,
I have visited the Abraham Lincoln Museum on a prior visit and again a very good place to visit.
In my opinion the Fire Service Memorial was one of the best and interesting memorials I have seen around the World.

We love history and the Lincoln attractions were on my bucket list. Also plan on doing Route 66 vaca someday, so we did some Route 66 stuff too.
Impressed with the city and people on the streets are quick to say hello.
Check ahead...some sites were closed :(
We stayed at the Inn at 835 Boutique Hotel to visit the nearby Frank Lloyd Wright house. The Inn is in the middle of downtown. The capital building, Lincoln museum and many other sight seeing places are nearby. The Inn was an older building that has been beautifully refurbished. The beds were comfortable, plenty of parking, bathrooms clean, room quiet all making for a good stay. We would recommend this Inn.
The first morning it was good. The second morning it didn't exist because they had no power. To be fair practically no one in Springfield had power. But when they had power it was good. The staff through it all maintained as good an attitude as possible and tried their best to make lemonade out of a big bag of lemons. They failed, through no fault of their own, but it wasn't pretty.
Very bright and airy lobby. Great staff at check- in and otherwise. I had room 216 which was a suite and was very good. They were just starting a complimentary Happy Hour when we started (free nibbles etc) but we didn’t partake though it was tempting. Easy to find location, with plenty of free parking, good nearby Walmart and handy for downtown Springfield (about 10-25 minutes).
The hotel was located in a good location, with other hotels nearby, as well as 2-3 strip malls (including a Walmart). The rooms were large with a lot of space for 4 of us to fit without feeling cramped. The bathroom was well sized, well lit, and well equipped. The complimentary hotel breakfast fit well with the price and we all enjoyed our one night stay.
The "room" was filled with roches, the "room" had a door that barely shut. The "location" of the room was next to where a bum slept on a towel and drank vodka. "Breakfast" is a meal eaten in the morning to "break" the "fast" you take while sleeping. I don't see what that has to do with anything. The hotel doesn't . . . like . . . offer it or anything.
The room was perfect. They were able to accommodate our need for a room on the first floor. Breakfast had numerous healthy choices. The staff were really friendly and felt like a real family. This was a wonderful experience and if we are ever in Springfield IL again - it will be the ONLY place we will stay.
The hotel is very nice. Even though they are doing renovations we were very comfortable. The only down side was pool and hot tub were closed when we stayed. Paxton, the front desk clerk, was great! We enjoyed the food and drinks that were included in our room.
Never stayed there, arrived on 8th of June 22 and Hotel was shut down about 10 years ago, Windows boarded up and weeds 3 feet high in parking lot, building has been condemned, somebody is operating a scam, stayed somewhere else. DO Not BOOK.
We couldn’t beat the price of the hotel for our brief stay in Springfield. The room was spacious and the bed was pretty comfortable as far as hotel beds can be. The room had a mini fridge and microwave which was convenient and a nice perk.
Room was clean, smelled fresh, microwave and fridge works with no troubles, beds were very comfortable, tv had many TV program options. There were food options and stores near the hotel. The staff was very helpful and nice, professional.
The room was a clean, standard hotel room. Nothing special about it but it was in a good location right across the street from a Starbucks and close to other dining and cultural venues.
Staff were super helpful, upgraded our room for free and gave us complimentary breakfast.
Lots of Route 66 memorabilia around the hotel, gave us a great start to our journey.
Only good for the location. Located conveniently downtown Springfield. However, the price reflects that and it is, in my opinion, not worth the $80/night rate.
