Breakfast was JUST okay. They could have had a little more healthy food, I was not impressed with all of the packaged sweets. No real hot food other than packaged oatmeal which I don't consider especially healthy.

This is an older multi-story motel, which was a convenient stop on our way from Virginia to Canada. The hotel provided a decent self-serve breakfast with some hot options. There was a swimming pool in operation. We had dinner at a bar/restaurant within the hotel, and the food and drink there was quite good.

Outstanding hotel. Everything was mint condition. Staff was outstanding. Nicest most complete free breakfast of any hotel that I have ever stayed at. Very clean place.

It is home for me.
It is home for me. It’s sad to see some of the buildings torn down. There are some bad spots at night. Young people hanging around, loud motorcycles going up and down. First time I was afraid to walk around at night

There really is little reason to come to this town.
There really is little reason to come to this town. It is a jump-off point for several tours of the surrounding area, and if you are coming into this area for work, where Scranton would be a little far, this is a very nice hotel, better than Hampton Inn, that is if you have to come to Carbondale. I would not stop here if it wasn't for a work assignment. The lighting in the room is excellent, and although my room faced Main Street, after 8PM or so, it was fairly quiet. If you need to be someplace for multiple months, this isn't a bad place. However if you like to cook, try to find long-term housing closer to Scranton. The improvement and widening of Route 6 (not Business Rt 6) makes the drive from Scranton a much easier commute.
Hotel Anthracite has made it easier working away from home. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the hotel is very quiet. Michael Dohoney has been my main contact from the hotel and has made my stay super easy by setting up my booking dates through email and doesn't hesitate with helping me or answering any questions I may have throughout my stay. Michael along with the rest of the staff has great customer service and can make anyone feel welcomed/comfortable.
The location was central to everything we needed, including the wedding venue. I liked the actual bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. I have a lot of hair and there was plenty of product. Seems smart on the hotels part as well, not to shell out a ton of money for those little bottles in every room. The bartender was awesome and friendly.
The hotel was wonderful. -it was clean, they gave us a wonderful breakfast and we ate dinner in the restaurant. The staff was wonderful and kind and the bed in the rooom was so confortable. I will reccommend to all my family and friends when traveling to this area.
A very comfortable and clean room, exceptionally helpful and friendly staff members, a cozy bar/restaurant, an easy parking. A lovely hotel with historical photos throughout. A great location to break up our long drive.
Super nice staff, everyone was very helpful and always with a smile on their faces. Amazing big and quiet room, very clean. Beautiful little courtyard. Best hotel experience on a 2,5 week US roadtrip.
Very clean, posh hotel
Friendly, responsive service people (even if they had to be there on 4th of July)
Towels smelled like fruit
Shampoos, soap stored in dispensaries (yay environment)
Hotel Anthracite was excellent!! room was spacious, the beds were super comfy and the price was right! it included breakfast and had a gym! I couldn’t have asked for a better stay.
Stayed at the hotel for an onsite wedding. The ceremony site, food service and layout were wonderful. Food was great and the staff was attentive and readily available.
In a very small run down town here is this beautiful hotel that we were so impressed with. We came up from Florida for a funeral and they absolutely amazing.
