The Wellness area was very good, albeit small.
Also, the Restaurant was good.
Breakfast was good quality.
First we overnight at Wurlerhof Pensión with breakfast.
First we overnight at Wurlerhof Pensión with breakfast.
Excellent accommodations, great bathroom with warm towels. Austrian humble and loving hospitality with breakfast included. Homemade mermelade, bread, own hen eggs. A dream.
Then went up for the experience, that connection of solitude and power at Grossglockner.

Beautiful place with lots of many amazing walking / skiing opportunities for any age. Kals also has many great dining opportunities where they provide local dishes. Definitely a place to visit if you like being outdoors and in the mountains! :)

The hike up to the Lücknerhütte is very manageable and our son even hiked on to the Stüblhütte ( not advisable without pols and boots. He was wearing shorts and sneakers, no poles and passed many with gear, but got soaked in the snow). There are 2 paths to the first hut. An easy, partially paved one to the left and one that is a narrow muddy or snowy footpath, which we took. I am disabled and still managed it with my cane. My husband and daughter could not resist dunking their heads in the refreshing glacier runoff water. The view is spectacular. The marmots and mountain goats plentiful and the food at the huts tasty and cheap.

Very comfortable property in a non-touristy location at the bottom of Grossglockner Ski Resort - ski bus at the door, lots of winter/summer sports options, friendly community. A well-stocked little supermarket is only a short stroll away and the bakery delivers fresh bread to the apartment each morning according to your order. Georg is a fabulous host; enthusiastically sharing his love and knowledge of the area, and offering us his help when we needed it. We feel like we’ve made a new friend and we look forward to returning to Kals soon!
Our stay at Ferienhaus Alpina was terrific. Kals am Grossglockner is a great place with beautiful hikes and views. The breakfast definitely lives up to its reputation and the house is clean and in very good condition. German comes in very handy. For dinner we can recommend the Gamsalm (we liked it better than the Ködnitzhof), or the Gourmet restaurant in the Wanderhotel Taurerwirt (though they were only open 3 days a week). Reservations often a must!
The building is apart from the crowded cities, lyin' on a nice hill, close to the highest mountains in Austria. In about 3 minutes by car you can find small but well provided shops, restaurants, while in 10 minutes you can reach parking lots where you can trek to glossglockner or to other high peaks around over 3000 mt. The apartment is cozy and very clean and the kitchen has everything you need to !
Very friendly and helpful staff on reception, free private parking on site, nice interior design in whole hotel, big modern rooms, huge modern bathroom with great shower cabin, tasty breakfast, great mountain views from room windows, good restaurant nearby for a dinner option
A very beautifully decorated hotel with very good facilities. Good food, friendly staff especially the managers. Attention to detail in all areas in the rooms, the restaurant, the wellness and the ski room was overall exceptional.
We liked basically everything! Great location with meadows just outside doors, super friendly stuff, newly refurbished, sound proof rooms. Hotel restaurant open all day with great food :) on top of that hotel is dog friendly!
This is an amazing hotel! The restaurant has top notch food. Super friendly staff. 3 swimming pools, various saunas. It is very child friendly as well. Great during a summer trip to go hiking or during winter to go skiing.
The kindest house owner couple I have ever met in Austria! Very flexible. Breakfast was fantastic, whatever you asked for, mainly from local ingredients. House clean and tidy at fantastic location. With wonderful garden.
The room was good. Location was good too. I saw exceptional rating and booked the Hotel. It was not as per the expectation but was fair. I found it a little high on price.
Cousy and very nice appartment in the village, on the way to highest Austrian mountains. Very nice and helpful hosts, very tasty breakfast.
I strongly reccomend!!!
