Fantastic room and facilities. Little touches like the coffee machine, diary milk and water in the fridge were very much appreciated.

The views and the calm atmosphere.. The food was very good. The food menu was good but not geared up for vegetarians.

We spent only 1 night in the hotel. The double and the single beds were comfortable with a clean toilete. The hotel has a big parking area but if you cant find any you can still park on the street for free. There is a path 10 minutes from the hotel into the mountain. The full english breakfast was delicious definitely worth it. I can highly recommend the hotel if you would like to spend a few days in the lakes.
In the Lake District National Park, Inn on the Square has a central location by Keswick’s market square. This family-run property offers Scandinavian-style design combined with Cumbrian elements.

Liked everything about it, very quiet and peaceful, could hear and see the birds. The location is fairly central to Cockermouth and Keswick. We loved Mirehouse too, definitely worth a visit and that is close by.

A quiet little village in the north of the Lake District far enough away from the main towns of Keswick, etc. to enable you to enjoy the peace of the Lake District without the crowds. Some nice pubs in and around the village where you can experience the local atmosphere and mix with the locals. Best to have a car to explore the areas around the village.

Covers a Friday on an outward joyride <500 miles and an inward of similar distance on the following Monday. Allocated a large room at £119 on Friday and a noticeably smaller one on our return on the Monday at a rate of £129 - no explanation. The hotel allows dogs in dining areas and it was overrun, one customer had 3 dogs, all filthy. Hotel should allow in one area only

Good food, good beer and some nice wines. Friendly staff.
Good food, good beer and some nice wines. Friendly staff.
My room was a little overpriced for what it was (a small double) would be very cramped if two people sharing, but was adequate for the nights stay I needed. I travelled down from Scotland on my way home to London and stopped on the way overnight just to get a dinner and some rest.
The room was in front of a shared entrance so could be noisy and the other guest rooms were close so could occasionally hear talking and general noise. The window opens up onto the road and the car park opposite so can also get noisy if guests arrive or leave.
The location of the premises is perfect for access to walks and the lakes.

Fabulous location for walkers.
Fabulous location for walkers. Great variety of routes of different ranges of difficulty. Ospreys are back nesting at the southern end of the lake for bird watchers. Range of other activities too for none hikers!
Although in a rural location, in about 30 mins drive you can be in Carlisle or by the sea at Maryport, and in Keswick or Cockermouth even sooner. The gardens at New Park Farm were lovely, and we enjoyed watching the hens, sheep and cows in the surrounding fields; the upstairs lounge had good views of the nearby hills. The bedroom was pleasantly cool on warm days (in July). There were several nice touches: we were very pleased with the pint of milk in the fridge, and the bottle of wine, chocolates, and fresh flowers on the dining table.
Lovely cottage in a nice location. Keswick easily accessible by bus and car. Close to the distillery, which is worth a visit. Can't think of any real downside to the cottage. I struggle to keep the fire going, though that was probably my inexperience. The beds were comfortable, nice size lounge and well equipped kitchen. Village pub less than a 5 minute walk. Nicve area with some nice walks, though ours were limited owing to the weather.
Excellent location on the flank of Skiddaw and a short drive to Keswick. Ideal location for the North lakes and surrounding area. We liked the farm environment and everyone was super helpful. The interior of our room was exceptional. The window was a bit small but as we spent most of our time out doors it isn't really an issue. We were able to plug in our EV for charging.
This hotel is located in a quiet location close to Sale Fell. Lovely room, clean and tidy. The shower was fantastic, especially the handshower was like a high pressure cleaner.
View on lovely maintained garden in true ‘geoffrey smith’ style.
The walk up Sale Fell which starts from the hotel is worth walking. The views from the lop are really awesome.
One of the nicest and best equipped caravans we’ve ever stayed in. Everything was excellent quality, the beds in particular were extremely comfy. Great walks about the park and only 10 mins from Cockermouth, 15 mins from Keswick. Amazing value for our week in February and would definitely return.
Very comfortable room on the edge of Bassenthwaite lake. Generous tea tray provided with homemade biscuits. Flowers on the windowsill were a lovely touch. We made use of the fridge to keep breakfast & picnic foodstuffs.
The luxury shower gel, soap & hand lotion were also appreciated.

Very special place. This gorgeous farmhouse was the perfect home base for our family visit to the lake district. You could spend your entire trip just enjoying the immediate surroundings. Everything was clean, comfortable, and like the pictures but more beautiful!
Gardens are beautiful. Bathroom was very nice.
Access to the fells Sale, etc. was excellent. They had two decent draft beers on tap.
Breakfast was very nice and a good selection from the continental area as well as the à la cart menu.
Plenty of good parking.
Well maintained, beds were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped. Location was good, just 15 minutes’ drive from Keswick and very close to Bassenthwaite lake which is not busy. Games room is good - we played table tennis
Food was great: both breakfast and dinner were well up the standard we were expecting. The hotel staff were very responsive to our request for a room change. The location is just fabulous. And the hotel is very quiet.
Absolutely gorgeous old coaching inn in a secluded, peaceful spot in the Lake District. Dog friendly. Loved the old bar and beautiful gardens. The staff, (especially Tom and Sam) were brilliant. Food was delicious!!
