Queen Room -Nice hotel with outdoor hot tub, free use of bathrobe. It was nice to be back in a hotel with fluffy towels and L’occitane amenities, after a week in different cottages. Friendly and attentive staff.
Situated by Lake Myvatn, this hotel offers WiFi . All rooms feature a TV and private bathroom. Skútustaðagígar natural site is 2 minutes’ walk away.

Ideally located to visit the area. The room was warm, comfortable and the view over the craters really lovely. The bathroom was spotless but the water pressure was a bit of a issue. Plenty of choice at breakfast, many cuts of fish available! The hot dishes instead were already cold at start of service.
This hotel is quietly situated 2 km from Lake Mývatn and 30 minutes’ drive from the Godafoss Waterfall and Krafla Crater. It offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with modern furnishings.

The beds were fine
The bathroom was fine
We were allowed to use the shared kitchen, and it was a great experience.
The location is great and beautiful, in the center of a giant lava field.
Staff members were very kind and helpful.
we paid extra for laundry.
the parking was in front the room door.
we were very happy from everything.
The family-run Vogafjos Guesthouse is set in a unique natural environment on the eastern shore of Lake Myvatn. It offers rooms with a patio and free Wi-Fi.

This is my favorite place in Iceland. A working farm with a lovely hotel and fabulous restaurant. The cows are friendly, the staff is excellent, and the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. It's right in the middle of the Myvatn area, close to everything (lake, lava fields, hiking, etc.)
Situated in Myvatn and only 6.5 km from Myvatn Nature Baths, Slow Travel Mývatn - Þúfa - Private Homestay features accommodation with lake views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Lovely location with a view across to a volcano. Very comfortable apartment that was perfect for us travelling with adult children. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

Offering a shared kitchen/lounge and mountain views, Skútustadir Guesthouse is set on a farm by the southern shore of Lake Mývatn. WiFi and parking are free.

Well equipped kitchen, clean hot showers, comfortable bed and a great breakfast
It's a beautiful lava field and lake system. Old volcanos and lava flows. Dimmuborgir is a legendary place where the Yule Lads sleep through the summer. Bear in mind that the summer can have hatches of midges.
Krafla Power Station, active geothermal mud pools, Mývatn Nature Baths.
If you travel in the winter it's a great place to see the Aurora as practically no light pollution.
Obviously it's not as nice as Akureyri, but I would say that as I live there

Myvatn Lake certainly has beautiful scenery and the weather is typically warmer than the coast. For the full service/hotel travelers I would recommend Fosshotel. For campers there is plenty of accommodations.

So much to see and do in this area!
So much to see and do in this area! Thankfully we were up and out just after nine! We packed in so much! Lots to see down the eastern side of the lake. Each activity offered us something different and unusual that we hadn’t experienced before. The thermal baths there, although smaller than the Blue Lagoon, are much cheaper and actually offer senior rates. Two pools, one warmer than the other and one sort of large hot tub area. Well worth the money! The cakes in the restaurant there and the coffee were some of the best we’ve had and are reasonably priced. They also have larger meals and soups on offer.

Myvatn is a beautiful lake, and the surroundings have plenty to offer to visit and for hiking. It has a great variety of scenic points and shorter and longer walks. At Skutustadir is a nice information centre that also a small exhibition explaining the origin of the circle of craters over there.

Although it was a long drive from the west of Iceland, it was well worth it. There are so many hidden gems: 2 grottos, a fissure off the beaten path, a nature bath that rivals blue lagoon, and so much more. It's also not crowded due to the location. Well worth the drive!
It was a great location close to Hwy 1
And the black out curtains were great. They also had screens on the windows so you could raise them
Without bugs coming in. Bed was very comfortable too!!
It was also very quiet and had a very nice breakfast selection. We stayed at another highly rated hotel which was a little cheaper but this one was BY FAR worth the extra money!! We did have a nice dinner at the Fosshotel before arriving at this hotel and it was very good with tremendous views from the restaurant.
Comfortable, well equipped lodge with 4 guest rooms and communal kitchen, dining, living area. Host helpful and provides good range of food to make your own breakfast. Very nice, well equipped kitchen, including washer / dryer which was very useful, and well used by guests whilst we were there. Good location not far from main road and very close to Lake Myvatn and its attractions. Supermarket not far away in Reykjahlio where there is also very good fish and chip take away.
Good modern hotel close to Myvatn. With some quirky decorative features to differentiate from blander, samey modern hotels. Queen room bit smaller than expected but not a major issue. Some good sustainable ideas like a voucher valid for money off food drink bill in hotel if staying more than one day and choose not to have room cleaned, towels changed etc.
Had hot tubs too but didn't get chance to use.
The campground hosts were very helpful in providing information. The huts are close to a supermarket/gas station and Myvatn lake seems like a vacation spot for the locals. I really liked having a porch to sit on at the end of the day. We used the kitchen of the hostel down the road. The campground bathrooms and showers were kept clean and were walking distance from the huts.
We had a great time staying here though we only stayed one night. As the hotel was over booked, and we were traveling with kids they helped us by arranging one extra bed in the room for free. The two restaurants on property were fine and we dined there for lunch and dinner. Myvatn nature baths were just 10 min drive from here. Overall we had a great stay.
The hotel is wonderfully located on Lake Myvatin right across from the pseudo craters. It is clean and comfortable with a terrific staff always willing to do anything for you including a wake-up call for the Northern Lights which are glorious. The breakfast is unbelievable with everything anyone could want. Highly recommended.
This is the best stay of our road trip, you can see the Aurora with Myvatn just by lying on your beds in the room and enjoy the heater, their room is near by the lake and the bed is facing the perfect scene with Aurora. We didnt sleep as we enjoy the Aurora and the lake view in our beds for whole night.
beautiful hotel with a minimalist design. great restaurant we recommend beef steak. very nice staff especially the one from Slovakia :) we will definitely be back in the summer. for sure you also have to visit myvatn nature bath which are really close
Superb hotel. Go for it if you are looking for a stay in Myvatn area. Great rooms and fantastic staff. Opt for dinner. We enjoyed dinner as well as breakfast next morning. We also spotted Aurora from this stay.
Aside from the great location in Myvatn and the friendly owner and staff - the breakfast buffet is spectacular with home grown and local food products. Easily one of the best breakfasts I have while traveling.
The location is very good, close to the lake. The owner of the property is a very nice person. had a nice and informative talk after dinner. This hotel is more a family house with a pleasant atmosphere.
super nice and modern hotel, large breakfast buffet, directly at Lake Myvatn, the restaurant is amazing also dor dinner. Glutenfree options available for dinner incl. really tasty gf bread
The property was super clean and conveniently located on the lake.
Easy drives to Lake Myvatn, Godafoss, Dettifoss, Namafjall geothermal area, Husavik.
