Fukuoka is a very nice place to visit. We came end May and the weather was fine, around 20 - 24 C, cooler at night. The passenger transportation system is excellent, using IC card which can be stored in your mobile phone. Every where was clean, the locals were friendly, courteous and disciplined, where the pedestrian is always given priority. Although the city has its attractions of old (shrines, temples, etc) and new, the other cities in Kyushu island like Kumamoto, Beppu and Yufuin also have their unique attractions and food. Japan Rail pass is a convenient and economic way to travel by train to these and other destinations. Also try to take the short ferry rides to nearby islands / parks. We used equal amounts of cash and credit card payment. Will return for more in future

Fukuoka has a lot to offer and we only scratch the surface visiting for a few days. It's a much more laid-back city compared to Tokyo and Osaka. The city is clean but not as clean as Tokyo and other Japanese cities. Hakata Canal City was a bit of a disappointment, way too expensive and not much different than other shopping malls. I would go back to Fukuoka because it's a great place to start and end traveling the Kyushu area, such as Nagasaki, and Kumamoto, and a quick trip over to Busan, S Korea.

Fukuoka, located on Japan's Kyushu Island, is a vibrant city blending tradition and modernity. It offers a rich cultural experience. The city's highlights include the ancient Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and the modern Fukuoka Tower. Food enthusiasts will delight in its renowned Hakata ramen and yatai street food stalls. Fukuoka's waterfront, with parks and shopping complexes like Canal City, provides a scenic retreat. The efficient public transport makes exploring easy. With its balance of historical sites and contemporary attractions, Fukuoka is a must-visit for travelers seeking a comprehensive Japanese experience.

This is a "Festival-Town". They love Festivals and every 2-3 months they have some feasts :)
I could enjoy throughout the "Golden Week" on the 3-4th of May 2024 the Parade on the streets. It was really colorful and culturally interesting for a European. :)
The Old Town is a must see! :)

Fukuoka is an entry point to Kyushu with an international airport and a port. It has lots of attractions that can easily be reached by train and subway. Fukuoka has excellent dining, shopping, some great gardens, and if you are a student then visiting Daizumi shrine is a must. It is a shrine dedicated to the success of students in their studies.

Beautiful scenery and interesting culture.
Beautiful scenery and interesting culture. Hiking paths and a nice beach😊
Great places to eat with options to suit all types of eaters and only a quick trip from Fukuoka Airport or a relaxing scenic trip on the Shinkansen from Tokyo!
Classical APA hotel well located in an area with many restaurants, yatai (street restaurants) and shops. Perfect base to explore the different areas of Fukuoka: walking distance from Canal City, Nakasu and Tenjin, bus and train connections to temples, the bay and the beaches, 10-min ride to the airport... Helpful and courteous staff, as always in Japan. Clean and comfortable rooms, very good breakfast buffet with Japanese and western options, self-service laundry machines... A good choice for short and less short stays.
Great value for money hotel opposite from the Canel City Hakata shopping mall which is massive. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean and comfortable and definitely exceeded expectations. Very centrally located in the Gionmachi area and about a short 7min walk from the main JR Hakata Station or Gion local train station if coming via Fukuoka airport.
The rooms were relatively spacious and very clean. Equipped with fridge and mini bar
Staff were all extremely nice as well. Would recommend
The location in the lively Daimyo area of Fukuoka is my favorite thing about this hotel. There are shops and restaurants all around, and it's easy to get to the rest of Fukuoka and to Hakata Station and the airport. The hotel is comfortable, modern and has good amenities. I especially like the modern bathroom (with the toilet and the shower being in separate spaces). The rooms are not so big, but the layout makes them very usable. The staff was very nice and professional.
First is Location where underground subway is just in front of the hotel going to Fukuoka Airport.
Drinkable water in the bathroom. Big tv screen. Soft white comforter. Adjustable heater of the room when it’s extremely cold during December. Complete set of bathing stuff and I love the hair conditioner which is sooo good for my hair.
Stayed 3 nights. Superb location, between Tenjin and Hakata stations. plenty of f&b options nearby.
5min to canal city, 15min to ohori park
Comfortable bed.
Love the all-day Complimentary juice and coffee bar.
Breakfast selection limited, but fresh ingredients and delicious!
Super Friendly service from hotel staffs.
Great location, 3 min walk to the station, less than 15 mins cab ride from airport if no traffic. The room is adequate for solo if you pick the queen bed. The switches in the room are well placed, clean and shower and bathroom water is hot and pressure great.
Note there are 3 Blossoms hotel in Hakata area
Hotel locates less than 100 m From the station Yakuin and the near rest 7-11. We have to use subway for approaching Hakata station and Tenjin. The room is good clean but too small for 3 persons. Tax for city (200 Y per person per night) was not included in the price shown in BOOKING.com.
The location is great, around 10 min walk from Hakata main station. Their beds are very comfortable, and the size is not bad for 3 pax, considering it's in Japan. However, the staff collect a Hakata city tax, which doesn't apply to hotels in other cities. Their breakfast is also good.
One of the best business hotel in Fukuoka with clean, comfortable and above average size rooms. Check in was fast and easy. Hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. It is conveniently located, a short walk from Hakata Station. Will definitely stay there again when we are in Fukuoka.
Perfect location, very near to GION station and Canal City Hakata, with so many restaurant around, only took me 10 min to get to Tenjin shopping area, Staff was fantastic, room was spacious enough comparing to other chain hotels, will consider visit again next time in Fukuoka.
All good, location is next to the bus station to airport and next to Hakata Station which 5 mis walking distance.
Thear are 7-11 and Family mart around the Hotel.
Car rental is next corner with 5 mins walking distance.
there is parking lot at the hotel with 1500 Yen.
The hotel is centrally located next to the Hakata Station which is filled with many places to eat. The staff was very helpful, even though I could not speak to them in Japanese. It was an easy walk to the Folk Museum and the main temple of Fukuoka, which was nice.
Great Hotel. The room was spacious, clean and with a lot of light. The bed was big and comfortable. The staff was most helpful and Japanese breakfest was one of the best I eaten. Definitely recommend to stay, which I intead to do next time I am in Fukuoka.
The best feature of the Best Western Plus Fukuoka Tenjin-minami is its location. It's conveniently situated, allowing easy access to various attractions in the area. This made exploring the city quite effortless and enjoyable.
The location of the hotel is very good. Near to restaurants, shopping area like Canal City. Tenjin areas is only a walking distance. We would like to stay in this hotel again if we are going to visit Fukuoka again.
Very cool hotel with clean, modern rooms. Breakfast was fantastic. Enjoyed the balcony. Great location in downtown Fukuoka, short walk to yatai food stalls, river, and downtown, and longer walk to the city park.
The hotel is located near down town Fukuoka and next to the river. The city is clean and beautiful flowers were planted everywhere. The weather was cold and the most of the cherry trees were not ready to bloom.
