Temple Cafe & Cottages, hotel in Candidasa

Set in Candidasa, a few steps from Candidasa Beach, Temple Cafe & Cottages offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

The views from the private beach terrace are absolutely stunning. I've stayed here before covid, and the restaurant has been greatly improved and looks really great - far better than almost all others in Candidasa. Everything is extremely well maintained throughout Temple and the room staff/ garden maintenence are permanently on the job. My room, extra for the Seaview, was very good as was the aircon. Breakfast is good and a fair price.

Ayu Taman Sari, hotel in Candidasa

Situated 400 metres from Candidasa Beach, Ayu Taman Sari offers an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi.

Nice comfortable bed with nice furniture. One of the best bathrooms with a nice shelving unit to put things on. The shower was just a spout though and not shower head. A great location and managed some lovely walks up into the hills. Lots of footpatchs to explore. A lovely walk is to head up the road until reaching a sports pitch on your right. Follow road to end and turn left. keep going until reaching a short dirt path through trees. You come out on bend where left is signposted Dempaser and right to Amed. Keep going up and then there is a sign saying 'dangerous road'. Just follow it up till you reach the top. There is a sign on left saying, Tanabu and Great Views. Follow this and you will reach a small house with fanatstic views from a large flat area. If the owner is there he will welcome you and offer refreshments. I was then taken through his narrow kitchen and out the other side and had a fantastic tour of all the .lovely rice fields. Well worth seeing. Coming back, I deviated to the right, near the bottom of dangerous road and ended up going down to a track, which lead in through the top of the old city. There are plenty of other tracks to explore though.

There's not a whole lot to do in Candidasa unless you take one of the trips on offer. There's no beach to speak of so swimming in the ocean isn't possible. There's only one road and it's used by all the traffic travelling along the coast - which makes it very noisy and crossing the road can be an adventure. Lots of the restaurants focus on western cuisine - pasta and pizza feature prominently - but there are some that offer fabulous Balinese and Indonesian dishes. The best I found was called Bintang - fabulous local food and very reasonably priced in a very pleasant setting.

Wonderful starting base for exploring quiet beaches, waterfalls, forest. A visit to the oldest traditional village with traditional handicrafts was exceptional for me. Virgin Beach is one of the best beaches in Bali. Prices are much lower than in others tourist regions.

It is quiet and the amosphere captures you and sends you to a piece of heaven on earth! Yor forget time and you are just happy to exists and be here ! Typical Bali 5 star service and smiles ! the food was excelent and appertisers were large and sooooo tasty,, Prices were so reasonable !The chefs are artists ! the grounds are manicure and flows with the water earth and sky ! We took trips snorkling and snorkling and fishing for half a day for 500,000rpn you can negotiate but it is a very fair price! had a amazing time and sites with local fisherman from the docks 50 feet away.,You melt in to the settings culture and food and get recharged,,We were happy to spend most of our time here at the resort!

    This is a sweet town.

This is a sweet town. We came here specifically to experience Nyepi day and the festivals leading upto Nyepi. Ogoh-Ogoh parade was awesome. This is a sweet town out of the business of other places in Bali.

The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, going above and beyond to organize drivers/scooter rentals and ensure we had a great stay. The owner, Mangku, seems to know everyone in the village and had great connections and recommendations. The property was lovely with beautiful landscaping, a pool, and private cottages with Balinese design and spacious balcony. It was walking distance (~25-30mins) from Virgin Beach where you can get great food and relax. Also very central location for exploring cultural sites in the area.

The hotel has a cute vibe going in the cottages and around the pool area. The cottage was well equipped with a very comfortable bed and sheets and plenty of furniture. Some areas are a bit run down as everywhere in Bali. Clean bathroom and nice outdoor area View of the lily pond from the breakfast area New outdoor furniture throughout the hotel area Restaurant had a middle eastern vibe which looked interesting but it was mostly empty Cosy pool area for relaxing

Of all the places we stayed while in Bali, this place felt most like "Home". The owner and his staff are so incredibly welcoming. The property is beautiful and hidden. There were very few people there during our stay, so it was super peaceful. And the Food was the absolute best! We ate there almost every meal. This was certainly the hidden gem that we needed.

We really liked the whole setting of Bali Santi Bungalows, they strike a good balance of intimacy with the feeling of community. You really have your own space even though you are in a hotel. The pool is great, the staff was friendly and the surroundings were quiet. Close to nice restaurants as well. Le Zat and Warung Bintang were especially nice.

The views of ocean, walking the beach, my friend had ocean front massage and facial which she loved. Our dinner was phenomenal we both had mahi mahi but different ways. I had it Balinese curry and probably my favorite meal in Bali. Dessert was a perfect ending to dinner. Breakfast was really good too.

This is Old Bali, just like in 70's no air con, no TV, no fridge, all you can hear is birds and sea. Beautiful old bungalows and sweet cow that meets you every morning. Lovely staff, that are virtually invisible, but also always happy to help and private beach :)
