Canggu is a bit of a digital nomad city. It's great for beaches, cafes, bars etc but not quite cultural Bali if that's what you're looking for. I felt like there were more tourists/foreigners residing here than there were local people. It caters to most needs and is very convenient. There are good gyms and other service facilities. It absolutely serves a purpose.

Great area with lots of great restaurants, cafes and shopping. Unfortunately the road is not direct so can take up to 40mins to get from one spot to the next. Most of the time the road in and out of Canggu is a traffic jam so moving around to other parts of Bali is not convenient.

Canggu has so many people because it is trendy, not because...
Canggu has so many people because it is trendy, not because it is beautiful or because it has a great vibe. It's got great restaurants and cool bars, some very nice hotels and you can see pretty sunsets, but it is also way overcrowded and has too much traffic and too much pollution. More importantly, the beaches and surf, which are supposed to be its main attraction, are not appealing at all because they are so polluted. Every 100 meters or less on the beach you will find drain water flowing into the ocean, maybe even sewer water. Sometimes it really smells like sewer. In the parts of the beaches where there are no restaurants or hotels, they don't take care of the sand, so it's covered in trash, really heart breaking. If the government spent the money they make from tourists properly, they would be investing in picking up all the garbage that's around and in diverting sewers and drain water to treatment plants, but they don't. In fact, I don't know where they spend the money. There is no public transport, the roads and traffic are horrific and the beaches are polluted. Makes me sad. I recommend going here only to enjoy the restaurants or to party at the bars, for everything else, there are better, more well maintained places. The only reason so many people go is because everyone goes, it's a trend, and people just convince themselves it must be a great place. It's not.
Bali, and specifically Canggu, can be hectic at the best of times, but stepping through the wooden doors of Amar you were immediately in a place of tranquility and comfort. Filipa was a wonderful host that made sure we were as well informed as we could be (as first time visitors to Bali) and gave us so many great tips and advice to make our stay enjoyable. Location couldn't be better just two minutes walk to Echo Beach which has so many places to chill, eat and drink, or try a bit of surfing.
The Brick is a great location. It’s 3-4 minutes walking to the beach. The famous surf breaks - Old man’s and Batu Balong, are right out front. We did not need a bike and could walk with our surfboards. There area lot of great cafes, clubs, shops and surf rentals around. The hotel is on the Main Street but a little bit inside so it’s not noisy. The room and bathroom were spacious . We got unlimited water, Bali coffee and shared kitchen and refrigerator. The swimming pool looks very welcoming.
Wow. I really wish I discovered this place sooner. I had been in Bali for a month switching between hotels and guest houses. The Hideaway provides the best of both worlds. Exceptionally clean and well maintained, it is walking distance of a few good cafes and the beach. There's ample parking for motorbikes. I like the fact that the room had both a fan and air conditioning. It's such a nice environment - quiet and away from the noise of the traffic. Just a beautiful place to be.
the perfect villa with affordable price. i would like to recommend this one to our friends soon when they r plannin to stay in Bali. i love the pool, it is not too small, it is just perfect for me n my bf to spend the whole day. i love the kitchen set cus they r complete. the bathroom’s totally clean and all the stuff r still new. the location is pretty near to Canggu and Seminyak. couldnt say anymore, Id love to stay in here again in our next trip to Bali🥰 thank you
Happy my family decided to stay in Seseh area to experience this villa. We've long experienced the main crowd in Canggu and Seseh seems like a retreat from it all. We love the breezy air from the beach to the villa - our favorite spot was the living room, where we can all gather and play cards! The beach was also a walk away with no crowds, such a game changer!
The villa staff were helpful and would make your stay comfortable.
We would love to come back soon!
This villa is perfect for staying in Canggu
It is a short taxi/ bike or walk to various beaches, beach clubs and attractions such as markets
The pool was fab and we really enjoyed it
Staff were attentive and friendly
Transport was organised for us from the airport and our driver Brough is to various areas in Bali - always friendly and helpful
Wifi for each individual room was strong
Aircon was brilliant - did have a disinfecting smell but wasn’t a problem
The staff at La Sari Village are very nice. The best part is the location and convenience. Everything you could need is all within 3-5 minutes walking distance. Beach, surfing, yoga, restaurants, you name it, it’s all really close. I appreciated the spacious room and the desk that allowed me to work remotely. The biggest negative was the loud dance club, bar noises, and fireworks that would happen until 2am or so. I wore ear plugs to help manage the noise.
Staying at the Villa la Crema was a fantastic decision. It allowed us to experience the best of both worlds – being in the heart of the action while still enjoying a serene and private setting. This villa is an excellent choice for families or groups seeking a perfect blend of convenience and relaxation.
If you're looking to immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of Canggu and savor the tranquility of a private villa, this place is an absolute gem.
Secana Beachtown was one of the best properties I’ve stayed in Bali, and I’ve been coming for 10 years. The property is set up nicely you almost feel like a resident of Bali. Lot of useful properties on site - restaurants, gym, spa, coworking space. Would definitely stay there again. To top it off, location was steps from the beach and walking distance to main commercial area in Canggu.
The hotel felt like a real resort that's away from everything else, despite actually being surrounded by the hustle of Canggu. The staff were fantastic and extremely attentive, helping wherever possible. The room was amazing, however some areas where it was dated (comments in other section). Loved the pool and beach club. Food was also pretty good! Good options of drinks too.
We’ve stayed in many same category hotels in Bali, and we can easily say that it’s the best so far. Hotel is new, so rooms are bright and clean, towels-linens are new without stains, breakfast in restaurant is tasty, no insects inside of rooms, room service is good and staff are very helpfull. 10 mins walk to the beach where you can surf and the same to the restaurants/bars
Amazing
We had an amazing stay in AyoNa Canggu. Pak Hary and his team took excellent care of our wishes. The villa is spacious and luxury, we enjoyed the rooftop bath especially. A great place to relax and enjoy the Bali vibes. Its only a few minutes drive to the beach, beachclubs, restaurants its all around the corner! We will be back soon
Stayed at Villa Nine Nine in Canggu which is located in a peaceful residential area and a short distance to lots of shops and restaurants .
The Villa was very clean and we couldn't be happier with the Swimming pool and facilities which are modern and sleek .
I would highly recommend if your looking for somewhere to stay in Canggu
I had a fantastic stay at the Slow and Kitchen Hotel in Canggu, Bali. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the hotel was very clean. The bed was amazing, and the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The hotel had a wonderful atmosphere and was located in a great spot. I highly recommend it for a memorable stay in Bali.
Fabulous hotel! What a perfect introduction to Bali. Beautiful hotel in an excellent location within very easy walking distance to the beach - 2 mins and everything else in Canggu. Really comfortable and spacious room, delicious breakfast with a huge choice of food, the staff were amazing
All round perfect stay. Thank you !
We were thrilled by the privacy the villa provided, allowing us to unwind in tranquility in our private pool. The staff were warm and attentive throughout our stay and very helpful when needed. Plus, the villa's ideal location let us explore the best of Canggu, from its stunning beaches to delightful restaurants and shops.
Fantastic hotel for those wanting to attend Finns beach club or enjoy Canggu night life. Finns is approx a 5 minute walk down the road, whilst many restaurants and bars within a 2 minute walk. Comfy bed and hot shower. Rooms clean and helpful staff.
The finishings of this Villa are superb! Very welcoming and high quality furnishings. The location was in the heart of Canggu with a walking distance from the best beach clubs. Staff were lovely and helpful and the security man was very sweet!
Everything was perfect!
The room and the hotel were just exactly perfect. Awesome location walking distance to the beach clubs and best rest against and shops, great rooms and comfortable set up.
KTS Villas is absolutely wonderful 🙏 everything about it is a delight: the room, the people, the nature… the food is fresh and delicious. The best place I’ve stayed in Bali. I’m so grateful 🙏
