I couldn't imagine a better place for a getaway than Clove Island hotel in Zanzibar. Situated on the frontline of the coast, it offers an incredible view of the blue Indian Ocean that takes your breath away at any time of the day. Upon arrival, I immediately felt the atmosphere of relaxation and luxury. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel at home from the very beginning of my stay. The rooms were spacious, elegant, and tastefully decorated, providing a comfortable sleep and a moment of relaxation after a day full of adventures. One of the biggest assets of Clove Island hotel is its restaurant, where exquisite dishes made from local ingredients are served. These dishes not only tempt the taste buds but also the sense of smell and creative presentation. The opportunity to enjoy meals with the sound of the ocean in the background makes the experience even more magical. Overall, Clove Island hotel met all my expectations and even exceeded them. It is the perfect place for those seeking relaxation in a paradise setting, enjoying luxury, the beauty of nature, and the warm hospitality of the staff. I will definitely return here many times.

The hotel is amazing. Situated directly on the beach, amazing sea views, amazing service. We loved everything about it. The food, the staff, everything. Spending our days under the coconut trees was the best thing we could have dreamed off with the best cocktails the bartender did for us. What an amazing place. What an amazing stay. Highly recommended. We also loved the attention Mario, the director, provided us every time we asked for places to visit or things to do. Place is wonderfull, hotel is not big - it has about 12 rooms, which was probably the best part for me, there aren't any annoying beach boys on the beach (unlike other tourist spots in Zanzibar) or close to hotel. Place is quiet and you can just enjoy amazing viewes of the blue sea on the pier or even inside the pool on the pier. Paddle boat and kayaks were available for free, and the snorkeling around reef (about 500m from the hotel) was amazing, a lot of corals, anemones, sea stars, urchins and fishes. Food was also great, but not all meals were available every day (especially fishes and sea food - I guess it depends on the catch of the day). Staff was the uniqie thing for me, which made the stay even more memorable - Diana and her collegue (sadly I can't remember his name), who even offered us to show us local village of Makunduchi. I really appreciate their services. We originally booked standard room and we were upgraded for 2 nights to room with private pool, so we had a chance to compare both variants - I really liked the room itself at pool-variant, because it was much bigger and bit more modern with alexa music, pool itself was a nice addition, well lit during night-time, but in the same time it attracted a lot of insect, bugs and other tiny creatures, they gatherted there every evening, there are other 2 pools in public area of hotel, so I wouldn't fully agree with other reviews that private pool is a must-do and is way better, but definately it is not worse. Both types of rooms were nice though.

The view of the ocean from the room was great. It truly is a place you can go to get away and unwind.We liked the manager, Francisco's immediate response to rectify our concerns after the power outage due to a generator issue. He immediately was able to rectify the issue and comped our first night dinner and gave us a room upgrade for the trouble. The restaurant where very friendly and pleased.
