We loved Berlin - it is an exciting, fascinating city with a troubled history that it clearly doesn't shy away from allowing visitors to get a sense of this. We visited a brilliant exhibition at the National Gallery good value at 14 Euros which I found by chance on the Berlin.de website, a useful source of information. The main sites are well-signposted: Checkpoint Charlie, the Holocaust memorial: we walked through the Tier Garten and along the river. Nice cafe near CC serving coffee and Apfel strudel. There are some great restaurants - we found Metzer Eck not far from our hotel - NB cash only. Transport was easy, accessible and good value. Currywurst a must!

Beautiful city with lots of rich history. We would highly recommend the guided tours as they help bring the history to life. The guided tour of brandenburg gate, the wall and the memorial is great. The topography of terror museum is fantastic. The real dog is a great spot for hot dogs - it has a wide variety of hot dogs to choose from. We would recommend staying as central as possible as the public transport system can be confusing and requires lots of changes to get to your destination.SinghUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10
Fascinating vibrant city.
Fascinating vibrant city. Used the 48 hour Big Bus Tour to get an overview first and then walked a lot. Emotional but important visits to Sachsenhausen Concentration Memorial, The museum of the wall and The Topography of Terror. Also did a River boat tour, and the Observation deck at the TV tower which were very enjoyable.

Berlin is not a pretty city, it is a place to visit to soak in the history. The museums are wonderful and travelling by public transport is a great way to get to know the city. Buying a travel pass makes it easy to hop on or off transport. If you have limited time plan which museums or galaries to visit as Berlin is a big city. The spy museum is particularly good. travelling to/from Brandenburg airport is efficient especially as the trains run under it.

Berlin is one of my favourite cities to visit! The art & architecture are on another level & the history is extremely relevant and interesting. The quality of food is always top-tier no matter where you go and there's plenty of cool hang-out spots to find. Places of interest to note would be the Urban Spree, East Side Gallery, Charlottenburg Palace & the Jewish Museum- The Zoo is 100% worth a visit as well. Definitely visit Annelies for brunch - the pancakes are to die for! The best way of transport around the city is to download the BVG tickets app and pay for a 24hr pass (9.90 euro) which allows travel on bus, U&S-Bahn & trams.KayleighUnited Kingdom - 6.0Scored 6.0

The full-height windows give lots of light to the inside and are easy to cover if one needs that. The area of Dahlem, where the hotel is located, is also charming and green, placed in the vicinity of the Freie Universität Berling (but those who wish to commute to the city centre should know this is quite a distance from Dahlem to Mitte; the U-Bahn connection is very convenient though). I enjoyed the breakfasts, which offered a variety of food and slightly changed each day.

Shame some leisure facilities were closed due to Covid. Getting around was easy trams buses stop outside the hotel. Berlin Hbf station walkable or tram, where you can get to anywhere in Germany. Also purchase the 9euro travel ticket app, it’s available through the summer months, travel all over Germany with this ticket. Front bedrooms a little noisy with trams etc, but a/c was good & the windows kept the room quiet. But it was a great spot.

I didn’t enjoy my stay on this occasion primarily because of the covid restrictions currently in place in Germany, probably came back too soon. I do appreciate that the circumstances are beyond the control of the hotel and when I return to Berlin I will always consider the H2 because it’s pretty good and I like it
