Welcome was great and Emmy is fantastic. Breakfast really good. Not an issue with room noise and it is on the street so it is to be expected. All staff very friendly and happy to help. Litte touches always go a far way - petals and strawberries on bed for celebration of our anniversary.

Boulders Beach Hotel, Cafe and Curio shop, hotel in Scarborough

Located at Boulders Beach with its famous penguin colony, Boulders Beach Hotel, Cafe and Curio shop offers en-suite rooms, just 2 km outside of Simon’s Town.

We arrived very late for check in and the team were so helpful. They left me a note on the door with instructions find my room and where the keys were. It’s also a stunning place to stay and a 3 minute walk to the penguins.

Quaint village with a lovely fresh market for stocking the kitchen, a couple of restaurants but you do not have to leave the house as it has everything! Scarborough has a laid back feel and many people walking and cycling.

The town is very small but there are restaurants and a deli. Very laid back atmosphere. Beautiful beach but water is cold and surfing is not for beginners. Very underdeveloped which is nice. Can be windy and even cold at times even in summer. We caught some live music and tasty food at Camel Rock, and there was a little market going on the public holiday. You can walk end to end in 15 minutes. You can drive to Cape Point or Boulders to see the penguins in 30 minutes and Sun Valley is about 20 minutes away for full grocery shopping etc / mall if needed.

Scarborough was a great little village everyone was friendly and there was a great relaxed, surfer vibe. There are just 3 local cafes but its all you need. We ate at 'Whole Earth Cafe' everyday. It was really amazing fresh food at a great price. We bought fresh organic groceries at 'The Hub' when we wanted to cook for our-self. The beach was perfect and was not crowded.

Scarborough is a small town with villa's and holiday-villa's. The most of the houses have suburb views. There is a small shop for groceries, a lunch-cafe and two small restaurants, but during the winter they are not open every day. There is an sandy beach with nice waves. The atmosphere is friendly. You will need a car.

We LOVED our stay in Artistic Beach House.

We LOVED our stay in Artistic Beach House. If you are ARTY or ALTERNATIVE in any way and appreciate OUT OF THE BOX this is the place for you! My husband and I both can't stand normal and commercial, we only walked through the entrance and were already fascinated by so many things ! The spice collection on the wall, the oh so impressive record collection, the seaweed lamps ?! The place is homey, clean , full of designs and collections from all around the globe. An absolute delight. The location is fantastic ! Only a few minutes walk from the beach which is wild but inviting. Even though it was busy season didn't feel crowded at all. Coming from Cape Town we felt safe and peaceful. So peaceful ! Also just a few minutes walk from the only Deli in the area which had quality organic bread by the way. We loved sitting on the wooden balcony in the sun, looking over the large garden area at the sea view. Felt like it was just us ! One feels secluded and doesn't notice the houses around. From the communication with him Frank seems like a great guy who loves sharing this house and the Scarborough experience with others and will go out of his way to give them just that. There is a fireplace in the garden which we look forward to making use of next time we come !
