A great little place for holidays and there are many nature walks within a 20 minute drive. It helps to know a local who can tell you about all the great stuff that is hard to find on the internet (or all the great places that are on the internet but are now closed).

The waterfalls are amazing as is the nearby dam.

The waterfalls are amazing as is the nearby dam. People are very friendly and I enjoyed the beautiful vistas and the mist over the surrounding hills. Now I understand why so many people retire to the Midlands. I ate at several coffee shops and restaurants. I found prices to be very reasonable.

I was very disappointed about the town of Howick, especially the area around the Falls. Its full potential was never fully realized, but, even with that in mind, it is a shadow of its former, limited, glory. Roads are uneven, gardens and verges are unkept, the tearoom looked desolate and the public toilets charged R 2 with no soap, toilet paper or toilet seats. This town and the falls should and could be a tourist Mecca with tour bus upon tour bus, quaint curio shops, restaurants, etc. It is an understatement to say that I left back to Durban with sadness in my heart about his state of affairs. By the way, and without going into detail, the same applies to MidmarDam.

Beautiful countryside, lovely restaurants, wonderful overnight stay in a nice and quiet area, with super friendly hosts! We had dinner for the Little Mozambique restaurant and breakfast at the overnight Meander Inn. It is quite easy to get around the town of Howick. Nothing to avoid on our next visit...we wouldl prefer to stay longer next time! Unfortunately we were on a business visit, so there was no time for sightseeiing!

The Stables on Drew Ave, was a delightful experiece, the room was up to standard and required all the necessary essentials needed. Lise the property host was extremely friendly and very accomodating to us during our stay. She was even kind as to allow us to use her private pool should we wanted to. I would highly recommend this accomodation to anyone looking for a modern yet cozy place to stay at in the Howick area.

Lovely unit, that mostly had everything we needed for the weekend we stayed there. The gas stove is a winner during loadshedding. The village of Howick really has alot to offer, the Howick Falls, Karkloof Market on the weekend and lovely coffee shops (Bluebird is excellent) and some lovely shops as well. Very close to Midmar dam, Piggly Wiggly as well as Nottingham road.

Well appointed and very pleasing to both look at at and stay in. Completrly separate from main house, which we liked. Functional and very comfortable with several nice touches such as hot chocolate and a.warm throw on a.chilly night. . Will.def recommend and stay there if we visit Howick again.

The hotel was in a nice and secured area. The staff was very friendly and prepared us take away breakfast as we had to leave very early. We did not have time to explore hotel and its facilities more as we only stayed overnight. In general the room was nice and clean but towels were a bit tired.

Very easy to find and extremely accommodating host. The venue was spotlessly clean and inviting. We only used it for a stopover on our way to Durban, but would love to return for a few days to explore Howick.
