i like walking on the promenade, along to Newlyn, took the Mounts Bay coast path to Marazion, took the bus to Trengwainton gardens- lovely to see the magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias - interesting walks round the gardens and a lovely cafe with friendly staff and good food. Visited Trewidden gardens by bus and also took the train to St. Ives- a lovely scenic run along the coast. Penzance town has a nice selection of shops and it is worth exploring the back streets and the area round Chapel street. On previous visits have been to the Morrab gardens and other parks. Penzance is easy to walk round, has a good bus service and the tourist information staff are very knowledgable and helpful.

Went in the end of February, it was a quiet time with everything closing by 10pm, and last buses leaving early, but it's just as lovely if not more so as any other time of the year could be. Even for hiking, if you get ready for the wind, the rain, the fog, the mud and the cold.

We came in February so not very busy. Many places to walk around, lovely garden in the center of town. Great beach, St Michael's Mount very close by. St Ives also not far away. Great place as a bae to see Cornwall.

Penzance is a small town which has many quirky shops, art galleries , restaurants and coffee shops. What does let it down is the amount of old falling apart buildings and many shop closures - not unlike most small towns in the UK at the moment and in need of council investment. A lot of people seemed to be on holiday although I would imagine it being much busier in summer, which is also a trend with the boom of holiday cottages in Cornwall. Hopefully Penzance does have enough locals living in it that it will still thrive and not just become a tourist town only like so many towns in Cornwall and around the UK as local communities are the heart and soul of what makes a town.

We went in winter, quite a few of the shops were closed. Quite a bit of road works on our journey down. Beautiful town, very hilly. Definitely worth a visit for the history. We had dinner at the Longboat In. Food was very good. Traffic was quite busy as only one road into town centre and out.

The building from the outside is good and it is a listed building and I should have been more careful before selecting this hotel but I was tricked by previous reviews. View from first room was ok, second room was good, but that is the only thing you can like about this old building. Restaurant is also fine with variety of food options. One outstanding thing is the Reception staff which is welcoming, caring & knowledgeable and provided recommendations for the restaurants in Penzance and some places for us to visit. 5 stars for them.

Lovely staff - Joe helped us with our cases, made sure we had a table for dinner, worked the bar in the evening and made exceptional coffee to go with our cooked-to-order breakfast in the morning. The grilled seabass I had for dinner was truly the best I have had in years - cooked to perfection - and my husband's fish and chips was wonderful too. The location of this hotel is perfect to catch the Scillonian ferry, and a short walk from the Penzance train station. Totally satisfied.

I have stayed at the Longboat several times at this time of year and always enjoyed being there. A great team running this place. Nice rooms and nice breakfasts. Superbly located for Penzance railway station, bus station and Penzance itself. Appreciate the low key approach to New Year’s Eve. Could not recommend the Longboat more highly for an enjoyable stay in West Cornwall, with such an excellent location to explore much that this area has to offer.

Large but quiet hotel with really friendly and helpful staff. Most of the decor was kept to reflect the original interior which was a nice touch and gave the Queen's Hotel a unique and interesting atmosphere. The en suite bathroom was modern and very clean. Very good location,, easy to find and perfect to use as a base for exploring Lands End and the Lizard Peninsula, and St Ives. Decent sized and very secure car park.

The location was great - very easy to get to any places within Penzance. There were lots of tasty restaurants nearby as well, shops and art galleries too. The full English breakfast was absolutely delicious! The room was warm and the spacious. I also loved the antique decorations around the hotel, very nice touch. Moderately quiet location, although admittedly we stayed during week days, not sure how it is on weekends.

Mike and Julie were excellent hosts. The Breakfast was absolutely delicious... we had a cooked 'Cornish' every morning. You also got fresh fruit, cereal, fruit juice and toast. It was by far the best B&B/hotel in Penzance. Very well maintained. Spotlessly clean. Sea view. Free parking. We would recommend Warwick House highly to anyone looking to stay there.

Simply perfect in all respects and that’s coming from a couple of rather picky customers. If you are looking for a room of boutique hotel standard in a perfect location in Penzance without paying a silly price look no further. Ali was wonderful and so helpful to accommodate a last minute change of plan due to family illness.

The people who work there are kind and considerate, many thanks to them. I liked the Cornwall design. For the dinner, we sat at a table with a great view on the harbor and the blue sea and palm trees. The hotel is very close to a large public parking that is not expensive. It is also quite close to the Scillonian ferry port.

Super evening meal, on a meal deal basis with breakfast. Thiswas actually not the Beachfield, but Hotel Penzance, the sister hotel to which we were transferred as the Beachfield renovation was incomplete. No problem to us, although wehad to Park on road, which was very steep!

On a road trip round Cornwall this was the worst hotel we stayed in. It is close to St Michael's Mount, which is a plus. To get into Penzance there are buses. The bedroom was OK, reasonably spacious.
