Traditional old hotel that I really liked. Its a little bit tired and fraying at the edges but aren't we all. Good location right in the middle of town, no problem parking. Was warm, comfortable, decent value for money, I have no complaints
Overlooking a 20-acre lake, and in 17 acres of grounds, this 4-star hotel has an indulgent spa and free Wi-Fi throughout the building. Lakeside Park Hotel offers dining options with picturesque views....

The location was lovely. The bar area was particularly nice as was the spa. The room was clean and comfortable.

Breakfast and dinner was very high standard but alitte small.
Centrally located in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, Dorset House is just an 8-minute walk from 6 miles of sandy beaches. The hotel features a large car park, available to all guests for free.
Lovely walk along the seafront. If you have spare bread take for the ducks, geese and swans,do not be scared of them.At the canoe lake. There is a swimming pool next to the canoe lake.Union strret have a good selection of shops and the High Street and a few along Cross street.Union Street is quite steep.

I went to Ryde, partly because there's a bus direct from East Cowes and the ferry - I don't take the car - and partly to see more of it. I'm not a beach lover but Ryde beach is good for those that are, and in season there's the pleasure pool etc for kids at the east end of the town. Buses go regularly to Newport, Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor and Bembridge, and the Island Line Railway also goes to Shanklin, And up and down the pier. There are the hovercraft to / from Southsea, the bus / tram museum and shops to potter in. Eating places - Castle Hotel is good - and wonderful ice cream

We were on the island to visit various places so the location did not really matter as we had the car, however having now travelled all around next time we would choose a location with more of a little town environment. There was very little in Ryde.

Ryde buildings and look is tired and needs some refreshing, the train service is, at best, erratic with many cancellations which is annoying if you need to get to Smallbrook Junction. They say you can use the train ticket for the bus but the bus does not go there! However the bus service is good and reliable. The Alamo steak house is very good, excellent steaks cooked as requested.

Great cafes and restaurants.
Great cafes and restaurants. I was really impressed by the homemade cakes on offer. It makes such a change from the massproduced rubbish.
Loved the walks potential. I really wished I had stayed longer.

Apart from the Esplande and having a nice view from hotel room, very disappointed with Ryde.
Very tired looking town. High street shops not very good and lack of restaurants that you would like to eat in.
On the whole not a place we would revisit.
The hotel met my expectations from the Booking.com listing. For the purpose of having a bed it was fine for a couple of nights. The bed was clean and comfortable and the room itself spacious. Toiletries provided and nice large towels. Tea facilities and biscuits were welcomed. The shower had good pressure. Staff at front desk were friendly and helpful. Location very good for centre of Ryde (though up a little hill so bear in mind if mobility is an issue). Close to buses and hoverport.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Ilse of wight. Excellent property and very convenient to
activities. The front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful. The property is clean and has a fantastic old time charm.
A traditional and well run hotel, right on Ryde Esplanade. We had a lovely large double room, very comfortable bed too. Which made a change, as we had stayed in several other hotels round the island with incredibly uncomfortable mattresses. Nice bar downstairs. Really great staff, very attentive and so helpful, we had a great stay.
Breakfast was a superb bowl of fruit, extensive choice of cereal, fruit juice, tea/coffee and toast. No option of cooked breakfast - but I preferred what was offered.
I wanted somewhere that was not a hotel chain, and had character and a quiet garden and this was perfect.
Nice walk along quiet roads/cyclepath to Ryde
Karrie (the host) went out of her way to accommodate our needs and answered our questions.
The house is in the middle of Ryde town centre. Parking is easier than we thought, we parked at the coop for £20 for 5 days. All the rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. The house has everything you need, very well equipped.
The location was amazing, it was right on the seafront and close to the main shopping area for ryde, it was close to a lot of the resteraunts and ryde bus station. They were able to accommodate to your tastes if you wanted something more, less or different for breakfasts, and they were always happy to help.
The hotel has great spa facilities, we especially like the bubble lounge in the spa area!
Staff were nice and welcoming.
Good size rooms and the beds were very comfy!
Good location, 5 minutes from ferry and 10 mins from ryde. There’s a bus station right by the hotel for 15 min travel to ryde.
Central location in town; well served by buses and close to ferry terminal and rail station. A long established and old-style hotel that offers good food in bar or restaurant. The staff were particularly good natured, friendly and helpful which makes such a difference to staying guests
The owner is wonderful! Very welcoming and accomodating. Hotel is in a good location with some parking available on site. Fridge in the room was a massive bonus! Rooms was a good size for our family of 3. We didn't use but there is a kitchen available on the ground floor.
The room was functional & thank goodness modernised in comparison to the rest of the hotel. Not somewhere I would book again by any means, but it literally served a purpose being the last place we could find ‘cheap’ for the festival weekend.
location was awesome. amazing kitchen facilities! rooms and common areas very clean. can’t say I would stay again because we like quiet locations but if you are in for the pubs and evening life this could be a great place.
The room was located near by to reach Ryde (5 mins walk). Space was clean, neat, spacious, comfy. Chris was kind enough to explain us about the island and it's specialities. Thanks Chris :)
All went very well. The dining room was very nice and the breakfasts very good. The bedroom was in a quiet spot and comfortable. The hotel for me was in a perfectly centrally located.
An affordable hotel in a great location in Ryde with off street parking. Staff were great with a nice breakfast as well. Nothing fancy but did the job.
