Subiaco
1.9 miles from city centre
“Subi” is a classy place. Affluence is writ large here, with its well-heeled residents, the snazzy townhouses and a glut of gourmet restaurants. West Perth
0.8 miles from city centre
The West isn’t that wild after all. Quiet West Perth is home to young professionals who commute into the city. You’ll see them pushing new-fangled prams or zooming towards Kings Park in a blur of logoed lycra. Tap into the contentment with a trip to Harbour Town Shopping Centre. Then head to Perth Observatory to contemplate the cosmos.

Perth CBD
In the city centre
Money makes the world go round. And Perth’s “CBD” does its bit to keep the whole thing spinning. The city’s commercial capital is a whirl of taxi horns, suits and the “ker-ching” of cash registers. Splash your cash on King Street before sampling award-winning cakes at Jean Pierre Sancho. Cap it off with a cocktail at lofty rooftop bar The Aviary.

Cottesloe
6.7 miles from city centre
Cottesloe’s all about fun in the sun. With bodyboarding, beach cricket and good old sunbathing, “Cott Beach” is Perth’s go-to spot for seaside frolics. Set your alarm early and grab breakfast at Vans Café (pancakes with honeycomb butter are their speciality!). Stay till dusk to catch picture-postcard sunsets over the Indian Ocean. You little ripper!

North Perth
1.5 miles from city centre
North Perth is distinctly Mediterranean. Decades ago, a fair few Greeks and Italians migrated south to set up shop here, as joints like Maurizio or Metrio & Co will attest. It’s a quiet, safe suburb where you’ll see uniformed schoolkids scampering down tree-lined streets. For a grade-A tipple, head to The Classroom Bar. School’s out!

Leederville
1.6 miles from city centre
Leederville’s a place to let your hair down. Its mix of cutesy cafés, quality restaurants and quirky knick-knackeries will keep you busy from 9 to 5. Grab a caffeinated cuppa from Foam Coffee Bar before nibbling on passion-fruit cheesecake at Greens & Co. Come sundown, “Leedy” keeps the party going at joints like HipE Club and Niche. Rock on!

Nature and urban life coexist harmoniously in Perth, the capital of Western Australia. This is where the winding Swan River flows into the southern Indian Ocean, past steel-clad skyscrapers, lively waterfronts and pristine parkland – all under a relentless canopy of clear blue sky.
Kings Park – a huge green space spanning four square kilometres – sits at the city’s heart, containing giant white-trunked trees, botanical gardens and the State War Memorial which overlooks the river, named after its black swans. Across the river, Perth Zoo is home to more native animals such as koalas, crocodiles and free-roaming kangaroos.
Perth’s main draw is its surrounding natural beauty. From the flower-filled bushlands and the lush Swan Valley wine region, to golden sandy stretches like Cottesloe Beach and Trigg Beach, there are numerous landscapes to escape to.
Just offshore from Perth is Rottnest Island, a protected nature reserve that's home to white-sand beaches, secluded coves and wildlife including the quokka – a small wallaby-like marsupial. The island is also popular with surfers who come to ride the breaks of Strickland Bay. Spend a day or two by taking the ferry from the port town of Fremantle, known for its Maritime Museum and 19th-century prison.
Back in Perth, you can find hip boutiques, galleries, pubs and an array of laid-back restaurants in the Northbridge area.

Clean city with plenty to offer all.
9 April 2024
Clean city with plenty to offer all. Greenery with some beautiful trees and kings park is a must for a view of the city and river. From the metro south a short drive or walkable if you’re a bit fitter, there is a lovely ferry into the city.

2 April 2024
Perth is extremely hot during the summer (35 to 40 C) so plan accordingly. By mid March the temperature becomes a little more reasonable. The city is easy to navigate by public transportation - there are even numerous free buses in the CBD (Central Business District). The train system is excellent. I would highly recommend a visit to the aquarium. The Botanic g Gardens is also interesting.

2 April 2024
The hotel was situated on the free tram line and we were able to get around very easily. It was close to the botanical gardens and wildlife park. Perth is a beautiful clean city and I would willingly spend more time here.
KINGS PARK is the most beautiful park.
22 March 2024
KINGS PARK is the most beautiful park. Sir Lord John Forrest had a vision when he kept that land aside for the pleasure of the community. overlooking the city, it has stunning views or the river, city, and the trees lit at night and the memorial, it is certtainly a glorious place. the mountway where we stayed has free bus so close, took us to town. Elizabeth quays has wonderful cafes, and views , plus quick walk to the ferry to the south perth area and zoo. just a wonderful place. very laid back and friendly. shops were excellent too, needed more time to explore.
