In the heart of Zurich, medieval architectural melds with contemporary style. More than suits populate the city’s financial core – those with an artist’s eye shop with intent in the vintage boutiques and designer stores. Cabaret Voltaire, with its neo-Dada movement (and penchant for political art), is evidence that the city is dedicated to “edge”.

Hoarders of antique and heirloom delight: Zürcher Brockenhaus’s more than a thrift store. Four floors of vintage wares excite those with the patience to peruse. Continue the cool? Don’t miss Freitag’s flagship (father of recycled bags for the hip and indie), the Kunsthalle (for modern art) or Museum für Gestaltung Zürich (for industrial design).

The bookish and bespectacled prevail in this university district where IQs are as high as the levels of caffeine in students’ veins. Pick up some Joyce, brush up on your Modernism or head to Dynamo, the youth culture house. Catch a performance, enrol in a workshop (choose from snowboarding to printmaking) or imbibe at their bar.

Simmer through summer on Lake Zurich – catch your breath. Glacial mountains frame a sky known to blush pink at dusk. Swiss sun on the limbs, boats bobbing in clear water: it’s a haven for bathers and outdoor-seekers. Rent a boat on the promenade or skip the dinner of cheese fondue in lieu of a waterside barbecue.

A business centre, a nature lover’s paradise and a hotbed of culture – the largest city of Switzerland is all three at once. Located in the heart of Europe, Zürich is the economic and educational centre of its home country.
Zürich’s interesting history is well preserved in the Swiss National Museum. Home to a collection of artworks and crafts, Kunsthaus Zürich is a must-visit for art lovers. The museum presents works by classic artists like Picasso and Monet, as well as contemporary artists like Peter Fischli and Pipilotti Rist.
Lined with designer shops on both sides of the street, Bahnhofstrasse is definitely worth a visit if you're a shopping enthusiast. From premium watches to designer clothes, Bahnhofstrasse offers it all. Europaallee is another shopping quarter in Zürich which presents numerous small and large stores selling clothes, accessories and everyday items. While exploring the area, you can stop for a burger at a takeaway or enjoy a gourmet meal at a nearby restaurant. Cinchona Bar is one such place where you can sit down for coffee or enjoy a few glasses of your favourite drink.
A short pause at Lindenhof park provides some much-needed peace after a day of touring the city of Zürich. Packed with history, this park was the grounds of a Roman fort in the fourth century. Another green space within the city is Platzspitz park, ideal for a short walk or a meet with friends.

Zurich has so much character.
15 April 2024
Zurich has so much character. Unlike other cities around the world, which build so many monuments and attractions, Zurich is “naturally” beautiful!! I spent most of my days traveling to other parts of Switzerland, but while in Zurich I was able to tour the Rhein falls, Lindt chocolate factory, the lake, the shops and much more!
Beautiful city and very peaceful atmosphere.

Beautiful city and very peaceful atmosphere. It was clean and quite a lot of interesting sites. Great mix of both old and new! Very expensive though. An icecream will be 4chan for 1 scoop and 8 or 9 chg for 2 scoops. A burger and fries at McDonald’s is 15-20chf which we thought was ridiculous. We took a couple of really great bus trips. One day to Leichtenstein and another day to Rheinfall, both were amazing!
Wonderful, breathtaking view.

Wonderful, breathtaking view. People are nice and transportation is absolutely great . If only most of every thing is inexpensive I would be coming twice or 3 times a year! Over all I love Zürich I will be back again!

Our favorite spots in Zurich were: 1. The Kunthaus museum, which has a spectacular collection of artworks and an insightful narrative 2. Luigia for dinner 3. Old town for shopping 4. Babu's for breakfast We loved that it was accessible to areas further away like Rhine Falls and Uetliberg What we didn't like 1. Everything was super expensive especially the Airbnb

A lively city with many different areas which give totally different vibes. For book lovers: Great book stores and museum book stores. Lovely cafés and fantastic museums. A vibrant theater scene, especially small stages. Go for an early morning walk or run a long the quais. I love Zurich. It’s rough and elegant at the same time.
Frankly, it is a city that I enjoy very much.

Frankly, it is a city that I enjoy very much.I even went to the flight at 11 in the morning, which was at 4 in the evening. Everything is meaningless, we couldn't find expensive and delicious food, and many restaurants smell strongly of oil.
