About Copenhagen

Including tips for the best time to visit Copenhagen

Admired throughout the world for its groundbreaking design, Denmark's capital of Copenhagen features some of the country's best architecture, alongside a multitude of Michelin-starred restaurants. The city's cultural prestige is also evident through its wide selection of galleries and museums, including the Experimentarium, Danish National Gallery and Nationalmuseet. It's also worth a jaunt over to Christiansborg Palace on the small island of Slotsholmen. Dating back over 800 years, the imposing building houses the Danish Parliament Folketinget, the Supreme Court, and the Ministry of State. You'll also be able to see the balcony where Danish monarchs are proclaimed.

To experience the best of Danish design, stop by the Design Centre or the Design Museum Danmark, both showcasing the country's knack for creating stunning Modernist architecture. The capital is also home to the two oldest functioning amusement parks in the world, with Tivoli Gardens located in the city centre and Dyrehavsbakken situated in a picturesque beech forest to the north.

Copenhagen's cuisine scene includes a range of tasty options for all budgets, but for something typical, look no further than a Smørrebrød open-faced sandwich. If you want to splash out on some New Nordic specialities, try dining somewhere like Kadeau or Noma which plate up cutting-edge gourmet meals.

Copenhagen's Kastrup Airport serves most major airlines and low-cost carriers, with mainline trains running between the terminals and the city centre.

Everyone is so very friendly in Copenhagen.

Everyone is so very friendly in Copenhagen. The restaurants were wonderful. I do recommend that reservations are made in advance for evening meals. I loved the city and all it has to offer. I would love to spend much more time here.

I went for Tvoli Gardens and that exceeded my expectations.

I went for Tvoli Gardens and that exceeded my expectations. One of the best things about Copenhagen is that basically everything to do is within walking distance. The food was a bit more expensive than what I would usually pay back home. Overall the city is beautiful (and a bit cold) and I would definitely go back again.

This hotel served the purpose of having a comfortable bed to rest before my transcontinental flight the next day. The hotel was conveniently located close to the main station (walking distance) and allowed for an evening stroll in downtown Copenhagen. Would definitely do this again in a similar situation.

Copenhagen is a beautiful and relaxing city to visit.

19 April 2024

Copenhagen is a beautiful and relaxing city to visit. It was eye opening to see how wide the roads are for bikes, how much space can be saved when less cars are taking up so much space. It is remarkable to see their commitment to caring for the environment. They are also tall people but most have standard or smaller cars. People who work at the stores and restaurants seem to genuinely care about what they do. My favorite places were the Royal Danish Library (Black Diamond building) and the famous Nyhavn. The public transportation system is top-notch. Every subway station we saw were very clean and so well-maintained and so were the buses! Passengers were quiet and respects others... LOL even their dogs were not barking or bothering others. Most bakeries have delightful pastries and coffees. I didn't want to leave. I enjoyed their lifestyle. I will definitely come back in two years.

I would come back to your property for both location, cleanliness, and staff. The breakfast was delightful. I did have some concerns daily with the door and getting in the room. All and all, I can’t wain to be back. They even arranged travel to the airport for me. The Fish Market Was my Favorite restaurant. A couple of fun museums were close. The place offers o hip, yet sexy vib.

Everything works like a charm, well organized, beautiful architecture, everything has a designer's touch. Best city for bike riding - you can explore the city by bike, from the water, from the public transport and by walking. Tivoli garden, aquarium and museum of Guinness records are strongly recommended for visiting with kids.
