Chinatown
0.6 miles from city centre
Liverpool is home to Europe’s oldest Chinese community. So, it’s no surprise that you’ll find the best noodles in town here. Duke Street’s glut of affordable pan-Asian eateries draws a young, studenty crowd. The area’s hard to miss – two bronze lions and a multi-coloured, 15-metre high Imperial Arch welcome you to the neighbourhood.

Cavern Quarter
0.5 miles from city centre
Centred on Mathew Street, this is the boisterous birthplace of the Merseybeat. Join the jamboree of Beatlemaniacs and ’60s nostalgists at the Cavern Club. A replica of the bulldozed original, it still delivers a hard day’s night of music and merriment. If DJs and cocktail bars are more your scene, Victoria Street’s the place to be seen.

Hope Street Quarter
0.7 miles from city centre
This upscale area pops to life like a period TV show, all cobbled alleys and grand Georgian houses. Visit 60 Hope Street, a listed-townhouse turned swanky bistro that’s popular among theatre luvvies. Get in on the act and see a play at the Everyman Theatre. It’s been a bohemian breeding ground for politically-charged drama since 1964.

St George's Quarter
0.2 miles from city centre
This old Victorian hub seems stiff at first. Its numerous Neoclassical buildings are hard to tell apart. Yet the stoic columns of St George’s Hall stand out like Liverpool’s answer to the Parthenon. Here, passionate locals gather to celebrate famous football victories or show their political colours. Don’t be shy, the more the merrier!

RopeWalks
0.6 miles from city centre
“How boss is this place, la’? Eh, how long’s a piece of rope?!” This is a bar-hopper’s heaven, and Scousers swear by Seel Street. Try the Shipping Forecast for gourmet burgers and hip craft beers. Then wiggle the wee hours away at Alma de Cuba’s church turned Carnival club. Its Sunday brunch with live gospel choir soothes any sore heads.

Liverpool is a city of rapid growth, with an infectious enthusiasm for pop culture.
Formerly one of the UK’s most important trade and migration ports, the city's focal point is the old docks. Here, the contemporary Museum of Liverpool traces the city’s roots, while the Tate Liverpool gallery showcases modern art from across the globe. The Royal Albert Dock is known for its Liverpool ONE shopping centre and being the home of the Beatles Story museum. You can learn all about Liverpool’s most treasured musical quartet here, or take a magical mystery tour of all the places associated with the fab four. From childhood homes and schools to Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields, the city centre is full of sites that inspired some of their most memorable songs. And if that’s not enough, you could watch a band play at the legendary Cavern Club, where The Beatles often performed before they were famous.
For many, Liverpool is not only synonymous with music but also football. If you can find tickets, be sure to catch a game at Anfield – home to Liverpool FC – or failing that, take a tour of the club’s museum to learn about its historic achievements.
You could spend eight days a week here, as The Beatles say, and still find plenty of things to do and attractions to see, but a short break is all it takes to get a good grasp on this vibrant city.

Liverpool offers a variety of interesting places to visit, great range of restaurants and shopping experiences all within an easy walk of hotels, railway and bus stations for local travel. We visited new places this time. Crosby beach for a pleasant walk from the Sports Centre back to the Marina end taking in the Anthony Gormley Iron Men sculptures. Next day we took the train to Port Sunlight to admire this unique bijoux village and enjoy the Lady Lever Hume Gallery and Cafe. We ate at Cosy Club, and a wonderful Spanish Steak Restaurant. On a future visit we we would seek out new exciting places.

A brilliant city that I love with all my heart. I went to a footy game but I also didn't miss the chance to visit the waterfront, the churches, the museums, and a bit of fun at night. It is a delightful place to go to either have fun or with your children.

The atmosphere is always great in the city. Scousers are the friendliest and most helpful people I know! I thoroughly enjoyed the sightseeing and the nightlife was fantastic - particularly the Irish pubs - Nelly Foleys in particular.. highly recommend this city for a break away 💖

Plenty to do and see within walking distance of the city centre, but great public transport means it's easy to venture a bit further afield. Too many museums for us to visit in the time we were there! Lots of great artwork which we weren't expecting. Fabulous coffee shops.

Main reason for Trip was to celebrate the birthday of a Beatles fan. Everything met with her expectations and more. Also the history and culture of the city was enlightening. Thoroughly enjoyed St George's hall tour and Walker museum. Lots we didn't get round to e.g cathedrals, China town. We ate in tiger rock across from hard days night hotel,on two occasions and had a lovely al fresco lunch at Bacaro, they both do the small bowl/plates selections which are excellent. We would order a selection of plates and shared
