Kuala Lumpur City-Centre
In the city centre
KL City Centre is an amalgamation of all things commercial. It's filled with soaring skyscrapers that symbolise the capital's wealth and power, like the Petronas Twin Towers and the KL Tower. Yet there's also a softer side. Families stroll in Taman Tasik Perdana, children play in Butterfly Park and the health-conscious jog in KLCC Park.

Golden Triangle
0.7 miles from city centre
Golden Triangle encompasses several districts and has something for everyone. Find food and fashion on Bukit Bintang and Petaling Streets. Culture vultures can get crafty with traditional batik painting and basket weaving at Karyaneka. At night, find wacky nightclubs along Jalan P. Ramlee (the 'clubbing street') and fist-pump the night away.

KL Sentral Train Station
2 miles from city centre
Two reasons to stay in KL Sentral – food and connections! It's known as a transport hub, with easy links to anywhere in the city. For some great local eats, try Warong Kita or Kelantan Delights, famous for its strictly Malaysian buffet. The nearby Sooka Makan Foodcourt and Nu Sentral Mall offer an unending parade of dazzling pan-Asian flavours.

Kuala Lumpur is a city of tantalising contrasts, with seemingly no end to the list of things to do, see – and taste.
Packed with gleaming skyscrapers, large malls and bustling markets, Malaysia’s capital is a magnet for shopping and nightlife, but also a fusion of ancient cultures. Malay, Chinese, Indian, Tamil and Thai people have lived side by side here for generations – a melting pot that’s best appreciated through the local cuisine.
Follow your nose to Petaling Street in Chinatown, and try recipes like ‘Chili pan mee’, a noodle stir-fry of fried onions, fresh scallions, crushed peanuts, shredded pork and a poached egg. Or, head over to Brickfields (Little India) for spicy chicken curry, dosa pancakes and as many banana fritters as you can manage. Take a map to make sure you don’t get lost between these crowded districts.
But it’s not all about the food. The futuristic Petronas Towers define the Kuala Lumpur skyline, while the Islamic Arts Museum and National Museum offer a glimpse into the city’s short history. You can escape the hustle in the verdant Botanical Gardens, or the Batu Caves – a series of spectacular, Hindu shrine-filled chambers beneath a limestone hill, just half an hour north of the city.
Kuala Lumpur International Airport offers direct flights to Singapore and other world-wide destinations.

there is a lot to see, the food is generally Very cheap, brave something different and experiment with some very tasty foods. Down load the GRAB app instead of taxis. cost around the city area over short distances was only 10-15 Ringut far cheaper and more efficient than taxis. plenty of culture to see with the Old British Empire and the Malay architecture fused with the Mosques and Chinese and Indian temples. Do the Towers the (Petronas & KL) we did one at night and one during the day

I loved the street art, the Petronas Towers and the fountains. I enjoyed wandering the streets and felt reasonably safe although I was told that handbag theft is on the increase. There are shopping malls every where!! The prices are good value. I used Grab taxis every where and this system works very well and the prices are excellent. Batu caves are interesting and the steps up there are colourful and you need to be fit to manage them. Best to go early as it gets busy and the heat and humidity are exhausting. The whole place was rather dirty and smelly which was a disappointment. I enjoyed visiting some of the hidden bars which was fun.
Visiting Kuala Lumpur was an absolute delight!
18 March 2024
Visiting Kuala Lumpur was an absolute delight! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the vibrant energy of this bustling city. The towering skyscrapers, including the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, create a stunning skyline that is truly unforgettable. Exploring the diverse neighbourhoods, such as Chinatown and Little India, allowed me to immerse myself in the rich tapestry of cultures that make up Kuala Lumpur. The mouth-watering street food offered in every corner tempted my taste buds with its array of flavours and aromas. One of the most striking aspects of Kuala Lumpur's multiculturalism is its diverse population, comprising Malays, Chinese, Indians, and various ethnicities from all around the world. Each community contributes to the city's cultural mosaic, enriching it with their traditions, languages, cuisines, and customs. Kuala Lumpur's inclusivity and tolerance foster a sense of unity among its diverse communities, creating a welcoming environment for locals and visitors alike. This celebration of diversity is not only a source of pride for Kuala Lumpur but also serves as a powerful example of how different cultures can come together to create something truly extraordinary.

KL is a 24 hours' city that never stops, hence you can eat at any time and receive a good meal for as little as RM10 if you eat in the streets, which in my experience has been safe and fun. "Grab cars" are fantastic as a means of getting around (download the APP). Also, once you work out the rail system you will find it fantastic. Problem is, it is difficult getting a definitive answer when you ask for directions. Buy a Touch & Go card and experience it yourself, it is safe. KL is a well kept secret.
Kuala Lumpur is my home city.
10 March 2024
Kuala Lumpur is my home city. It is vibrant, cosmopolitan, and most of all, things are cheaper here than other cities in the neighbouring countries. Local tours are plenty and you can pick and choose with help from the hotel's concierge. Otherwise, a simple Google search will let you see the hundreds of local tour operators. As in all major cities in the world, there is no "zero crime" rate here. So do be careful and vigilant at all times and safeguard your personal belongings properly. The dedicated police station to assist all foreign travellers/tourist is the Campbell Police Station in Jalan Campbell. Any Grab or taxi will know the place.
